Rees Howells - Intercessor - The Bible College of Wales

- Rees Howells was a miner in Wales in the late 1800’s who went on to discover the reality of Christ in his own life. In 1910, he married. He and his wife felt the call of God to serve as missionaries in Africa. Having been deeply touched by the Welsh revival, he saw the revival follow him to Africa and the power of God fall wherever he preached.
His real work began when he returned to his beloved Wales and established the Bible College of Wales in 1924. The college came into its own as the second world war started and Rees Howells gathered intercessors to pray with him against the spiritual forces at work in the world at that time. Rees Howells understood the the words of Paul in Ephesians 6, where he wrote: ‘We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places’.
The intercessors would listen to the world news on their radios and then gather to pray. They learnt to see world events transformed through prevailing prayer.
Using the same principals as George Mueller, Hudson Taylor, and many others, for raising funds - at the time Rees Howell only had two shillings (ten pence) in his possession - he established the Bible College in Swansea, and also a home for missionaries children, and a refugee centre for Jewish children escaping the Nazi terror.
Today the Bible College of Wales has re-opened to teach the same principals to a new generation. Revelation TV visited the college, and met and talked with staff and students. The documentary - REES HOWELLS, INTERCESSOR - is the result of that visit.

I just watched a video on the miracle of Dunkirk and the national day of prayer and remembered Rees Howells and the house of prayer in Wales. Yet this is just one of the times when the Christian faith has saved Britain. God was with Alfred the Great when he saved Britain and the English language from the Vikings who were about to take over the country and abolish the English language. God was with Britain when the Spanish armada was about to take over the country and abolish the Protestant church and take away the English Bible. God was with Britain when He sent Wesley to save us from the kind of bloody revolution that they had in France, God was with us sending revival to Wales and the Hebrides that also came to bless England and amen God was with us in the second world war when we fought the Nazis who wanted to do away with Jesus's people, the Jews. God was with us in the national day of prayer and the intercession of people in Wales and elsewhere for our victory. Now we need to join together in prayer again for the freedom of our country and the voice of our faith. We are facing a spiritual war just as real as the military one in WW2. The Germans are still trying to take over Europe. They failed through military might but today they are making themselves the head of Europe through politics and economics. We have Brexit but we are not free from financial shackles to Europe not to mention that we are still under the European court and its dictates until we make our own bill of rights. LGBT activists and atheists are trying to persecute Christians and silence the Christian voice and conscience in the workplace for both employees and Christian business owners. Other religions are trying to take over the country too. Islam is quite clear in its goals but other religions are also being fostered by powers at work in the fitness industry and children's education. Hindu and Buddhist spirituality is being imposed on children through yoga in PE and meditation pushed as good for children with learning disabilities and attention deficit as well as through fitness and other phone apps. This is not to mention the rise in New Age and other forms of witchcraft and divination. Please begin to pray regularly for the nation and even continent as a whole and especially those in positions of power and influence in politics, entertainment and the media, and in education etc. Pray for God to have mercy and send us another revival like they had at the beginning of the last century in Wales etc that not only added to the church but affected the society as a whole. May God bless and guide you all.

An alleged "god" who plays favorites with prayers is no "god" much less a fair-and-honest "father" figure.

To ‘Will Share’: I see that you’re another victim of a widespread anthropo-centric ‘gospel’. The God of the bible is a weaver of beautiful tapestries, of which the living usually only get to view from the backside. Remember the verse ‘all things work out for THE good for those who love the Lord’. It’s not always for THEIR good at the time. Joseph suffered in prison for many years, and as a result many of his people were saved from famine. But, it’s easy to forget I’m addressing someone who feels he can judge God, so you probably already knew these things and everything else and are qualified to run the universe in a more proficient and equitable way. You would do well to review the 70 questions God asked Job in response to Job’s questioning the Creator who created the universe and all it contains by speaking it into existence.

All of our better ethics, higher morality and just laws are based on societal "judgements" whether "Christian" or not, so that's yet another ancient stupidity in the buy-bull, while I freely admit that there are many good passages I abide by that many "Christians".
Without exception, every single "Christian" I have known, especially self-described "CONservatives" and "Trump Christians, completely ignore Matthew 25:36-40 which asks that we treat "the least among us' as we would Christ himself.
Um...that would include us lowly unbeliever too" while you "bear false witness" that I implied that I consider myself "qualified to run the universe".
Your desperate dishonesty is very telling, but not untypical nor unexpected amongst many (not all) of your blind "faith".
As one who has taught psychology and sociology at CSULA and UCLA, I've observed that among groups of infants they are perfectly capable of mutual love, respect and empathy (to varying degrees) far before being indoctrinated into your brand of ancient superstitious denominations, many that have killed and done battle against each other for easily-indoctrinated minds, their wealth and territories (Check into the history of the Christian's theft, murder, rape and abominations against indegenous tribes all over North, Central and South "America" for starters).
In the past ten years alone, I have invited "Christians" to join me in my sponsoring of hundreds of refugees and working poor mothers, along with their families, through organizations such as www.kiva.org, The United Way, and not a single one has taken up the invitation.
Instead, I am too-often met with hateful screeds, particularly among too-many self-described Trump-Christians, 70 million who voted for a serial-lying, self-admitted sex predator who lied, after he couldn't quote a single verse in the bible, that "It's all a private matter".
But of course, he later contradicted his own lie in front of one of his hate-speech rallies, by quote one, short passage while mispronouncing the name of the disciple, but yet much to the blind-faithful cheering from Trump's own "Christian" disciples, and no doubt far worse hypocrisy from the 70+ million who voted for a serial-sinning, serial-lying admitted sex predator.
Les you expose your own "Christian" hypocrisy, I hasten to add that this is an example that fits many a "Christian" leader, including Hitler, who said that in riding the world of "The Jews" he was also doing God's work.
Since your focus seems to be perhaps more on the alleged "God" and justification of your indoctrination, you *might* (see the difference in that word as opposed your declarative lies and your arrogant mind-reading about what I feel or not) not have studied the facts of modern "Christian" history that backs that up, and more:

Hitler's envoy was granted two personal envoys at the Vatican with the church; there topics included "The deadly sins of Jews and atheists".

Which "God" my unthinking friend? - There are literally thousands worldwide, among those, thousands of sects, denominations, cults and divisive personalizations based in a "believer's personal politics, sexual orientation, territory, family environment, with just a few examples being Mormons, Catholics, Orthodox Greeks, Southern Baptists with their centuries of approving slavery on biblical grounds, etc.
The fact remains, despite your haste to show your haste to show your hypocritical, smug arrogance, is that you have absolutely no evidence nor proof of your highly-flawed, still-born creating, world-flooding monster god that somehow created itself out of nothing and floated around vast multiverses before "creating" dinosaurs that devour each other alive and humans with their "all-created" alleged "original sins.
Zero evidence, none whatsoever, despite your self-delusional egocentric, religiocentric rants.

Yes, there are those that God calls to judgement earlier than expected. Has it ever occurred that it is precisely because of people like you that god does not act more.
Jesus went to a Samaritan village once and could do no great miracles. Why? Because of the unbelief of the people there. God has given man some degree of stewardship too, at the very least to intercede for others but when people like you deny it when we do see God working it is you that is to blame for many of the losses.
Why is Britain today in such a terrible state? Because people have been listening to voices like yours and turned away from God. Where are the men of God today?

You are like a brute beast - you think everything you have is because of your own doing and when things don't happen as you think they should you start blaming god for it. It is bad that calamity comes on people in this life - but so much worse that because of the words of people like you they might be separated from God's blessings throughout eternity.

I met those old ladies, Catherine ( who was a nurse who was going to go to India but Rees Howells asked her to stay and intercede and she did) I also met Daisy on a short but life inspiring visit to Swansea Bible college in about 2003. I am blessed !

This is GOOD NEWS INDEED! I read the Rees Howells book as a new convert and was amazed at what God could do in a life dedicated to His service. The thought of God being daily in communication with Mr. Howells stunned me and still does. Thanks for the critical and faith enhancing reminder that our lives should never be guided by what we see with our eyes BUT by what we see in the SPIRIT. Indeed no matter what madness is afoot in the nations at the moment, God has a very different plan and HIS WORKS will come to pass gloriously

Thank you for the video and for the ministry of Revelation TV. Richard Maton (1932-2018) spent forty-seven years working at the ministries founded by Rees Howells, and came to know the legacy of the man in a deep and powerful way. He passed into glory on 18 December 2018. Richard found the riches of Christ expressed in the legacy of Rees Howells and joined the Bible College of Wales in Swansea, South Wales as a volunteer in 1956 and remained unpaid all his life, living out his life of faith and sacrifice, in the pattern that Rees Howells taught. Richard served in various roles as teacher (at Emmanuel Grammar School), lecturer, dean, trustee and Principal of the Bible College of Wales and worked closely alongside Samuel Rees Howells for more than twenty years.
To his many readers, Richard was known as the man who told the inside story of the life of Samuel Rees Howells, through the two books which he authored, 'Samuel, Son and Successor of Rees Howells' and 'Samuel Rees Howells: A Life of Intercession.'
A man greatly loved and who will be greatly missed.

Prayer is to enforce what Jesus Christ has finished in Heaven. The book Ree Howell reveals the power of God in every situation and event. I am really inspired and very lucky to read his book.
I watched this with great earnestness and I heard about Rees Howells and saw the book, "Intercessor' many years ago. I am greatly encouraged to continue experiencing the fire of God as He wants to express it in and through me.

This the second time that I have watched this video and just so inspired to keep serving the Lord in whatever way he leads me. Rees Howells - Intercessor after the bible has impacted my life the most and I read his book about 30 years ago. I want to encourage young people at our church to watch this video and read his book.

Years ago I read 2 chapters in Rees Howell's Biography: Miracle of Dunkirk, England Saved from Hitler. My first WV friend and devout prayer intercessor told me that GOD lead her to her very important job by reading about Rees Howell.

In Nz many have been swept away under the tidal wave of charismatic music . A whole generation swept away because of emotions and feelings . Also at the risk of being called critical , there are rare rebukes coming across the pulpit, if any . Whom God loves He rebukes !!! No conviction of sin , a message to tickle the ears. It's a worldwide phenomenon sadly - charismatic churches that supposedly offer a 'higher life' are ten a penny, while Bible believing and preaching churches that offer the simple teaching of the word are small and few. It reminds me of the Colossian heresies.Being Welsh myself, we view the 1904 revival with caution - there was much good, but also much that was not good - we cry to God again for a true Biblical revival that is not fixated on music, and phenomena.

Rees Howells didn’t decide to do it ‘on his own’( ie walk as a Nazarite), he was convicted by the Holy Spirit to allow Holy Spirit to show him things like obedience inspite of going against the welsh culture .. like walking around without his cap which was considered rude back then. He would have felt the full force of the religious spirit not conforming to religious expectations and even bring ostracized, but he passed the test and learned some deep things about himself and his need to obey even when it felt like he was going against the flow :)

I did see one on eBay but said out of stock. I wish that people who watch this would decide to seek the Lord for themselves. The gift of prayer and of intercession are no longer taught or carried out in many churches. The Holy Spirit has been barred from those churches. Some may give him lip service but they do not let him move.
People keep saying that that Jesus is coming back soon because the times are so evil. If that were so he would have come during any of the world wars. The reason that evil is able to reign is because the body of Christ is not present to take their stand against him.
In Ephesians 6 where Paul speaks of who our enemy really is and talks of the armor of God there are two weapons mentioned that are given to the believers. They are the sword of the Spirit AND praying at all times with all kinds of prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
Most Christians are never taught how to use the sword of the Spirit and they certainly have no idea what supplication is.
Pray for God to call many into the ministry of intercession and to pour out a spirit of prayer. I have had Christians ask me what intercession is and tell me that it is not in the Bible.
When a soldier of old put on their armor they were ready for war. They always took their weapons with them. If the enemy has no one to stand against him with the word of God and prayer he is free to continue on a rampage of stealing, killing, and destroying. Even if Jesus comes next year he warned us to be at work when he arrives. Don’t think that you can just hide and ignore this onslaught of the enemy. Use your weapons!

He was not a nazarite which would make like John the Baptist, long hair, no wine etc, nothing was said to Mary or Joseph about being set apart in that capacity. Jesus was from Nazareth but not a nazerine.
He was a Nazarene, i.e. from Nazareth, not a Nazarene which is entirely different.

Rees Howells was certainly a powerful man in God's service but i don't know where all this stuff about Jesus being a Nazarite came from I think someone got mixed up with Nazarene. John the Baptist might well have been a Nazarite but Jesus wasn't. Nazarites not only didn't cut their hair but avoided alcohol too. If Jesus had been a Nazarite He wouldn't have drunk wine even for the passover supper which would make communion very different from what many churches have today. Matthew 11:18-19 "For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a drunkard, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children."
There is a difference between a Nazarene and someone who is of Nazareth. Samson was a Nazarene. Jesus was Jesus of Nazareth because he grew up there. Be blessed.
The subject of intercessional prayer is fascinating, and crucial at a time like this, just as it was in WWII.
What I can't help noticing on many documentary videos however, which I find quite baffling, and disappointing, especially in a documentary of this nature....is why would you neglect to mention that The King of Kings, Conquering Lion of Judah, Emperor Haile Selassie (Power of The Trinity), was in their midst, praying with them...!? 🤔
