This fine learned gentleman is absolutely right, you're not going to win the battle of spiritual warfare unless you embrace Truth. I was under demonic attack to the point where freaky supernatural occurrences that defy the laws of gravity and physics were taking place. My family was being taken over by something evil and insidious and I was quite literally, dying. I gave myself to Jesus, mind body and soul but He insisted that I also live in Truth, not even little white lies or excuses. It isn't easy because that means seeing the truth in the future of humanity and our corruption. But it really all distills down to you. Facing your past, taking an inventory of your life and owning your part in everything, even those who have wronged you- you attracted them, you let them break boundaries, you made excuses for them, allowing the inevitable escalation. You must be honest about the state of your marriage, whether or not you're properly caring for your children and elderly, whether or not you're working too much, for a toxic company that goes against God- there's a lot to consider. But my life reversed itself for the better. Jesus promises to guide us if we live in Truth and relinquish control and that all of our earthly needs will be met. We are given supernatural authority over evil, it cannot touch us. We love Him and in turn love ourselves and can then properly love other people. Toxic people instinctively fall away or change the way they treat you. I was amazed by the way body healed completely, even my tumors are miraculously gone. When I have Faith in the outcome, things seem to go my way and when somebody tries to hurt me or speak against me I pray that God have mercy because when you are doing His work, nothing stands in the way, His revenge is mighty, swift and just. Perception is my reality so now I views my tumultuous, painful past as as a blessing. Adversity and suffering can be turned into a blessing if we filter it through the Holy Spirit. Then it makes us better, more disciplined human beings and our soul advances exponentially. Remember, we are automatically forgiven so approach Jesus, He's waiting, He wants you to come to Him for help, He'd like nothing more than to help us get through this thing called life! That's not religion, religion is corrupt it's all about your relationship with your Creator.

Because most pastors are taught that we are too dumb to comprehend what the original authors or language meant. So they are taught in seminary to package theology and preaching techniques that keep everything at the surface. They think too low of you.

If God needed a middle-man, He wouldn't be God. He speaks to us by revelation. That's why Greek Orthodox priests have a purely administrative function and read directly from the Bible during church service. They say the prayers, perform the baptisms and other rites we have been commanded, and pay the tax on the land to keep things going. That's it.
Of course they give advice if asked, but the Orthodox Church does not create doctrines out of thin air like the pope or a preacher. It remains humble before God.

I write allot yet one of my greatest difficulties with persistent spelling mistakes... is that I don't know how to pronounce the word correctly in the first place so inevitably struggle to spell them correctly. But let's face it, the english language certainly has its difficulties and oddities... for months I pronounced _'The Book of Job'_ as it was written when in fact it is pronounced _"The Book of Jobe"._

Dr. Heiser you have done more to clarify so much of the confusion in my mind over the powers of darkness than any of the studies I’ve done or messages I’ve heard in my 67 years. Whenever you made the decision to switch your role from academic and professor to servant of God as a helper to us our world became so much more understandable. You’re giving us the knowledge we need to use the tools God gave us for the spiritual warfare at hand and frankly I’ve found myself engaged in since 1971. Thank you Brother

Even though more than half of my library has been deleted I love the fact that this one hasn't been. Some of what Jesus did on the cross is written here in
Colossians 2: 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
and Ephesians 1: 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

I think every Christian understands that but they just put it in simpler terms. I wouldn‘t call that ignorance. It almost sounds like you think most of us are dumb whilst you know more.

Maybe you are frustrated with the shallowness of a big part of Christianity. There I‘m with you.
It‘s frustrating at times. I find myself thinking bad about fellow believers and thinking about myself as a deeper and sometimes more thinking human. This is a trap! It can make me proud. A sin from which most other sins descend. Or I start to dislike them a precursor of hate.
May God take such thoughts from our hearts.

SALVATION: To clarify the gospel of our salvation: Our gospel that saves us today is to believe that Jesus died on the cross, shedding His blood, was buried and rose from the dead for the forgiveness of our sins. I Cor 15:1-4. That's step one. Step two: We must put our trust in this gospel for the forgiveness of our sins and nothing else, to be saved. It's that simple. Jesus did the work necessary for our salvation. We cannot. Paul puts it this way: Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, True salvation only comes when we believe that Jesus is our ALL SUFFICENT SAVIOR. We cannot add anything to His blood shed and work of salvation on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We are not saved by repenting (turning from sin), being baptized in water, walking an aisle, saying a prayer, confessing with your mouth, being “born again”, or following Jesus’ earthly ministry. Those are mostly "works" salvation. We are saved by grace, not works (Rom 11:6), through faith alone, in Christ work on the cross. It is a gift 100%. Rom 3:24 KJV Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Titus 3:5-6, I Cor 15:1-4 Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He came to save sinners, not people trying to make themselves righteous by doing some kind of good work, getting wet or turning from their sins, they cannot do totally anyway. Simply believe and put your trust in the new gospel Jesus gave to Paul for us today to be saved by. Then start reading Rom - Phil to understand what was written to us the body of Christ, so we could know what God wants from us and who we are in Christ, once we are saved. The books Paul wrote are the only place we find the gospel that saves us today. Then read the rest of your bible that is FOR us but not TO and ABOUT us. 94% of the bible is TO and ABOUT Israel, yes Israel. Don’t steal their mail and try to make it yours. And don’t be fooled by people who tell you, you need to do some good work to be saved or to stay saved or to prove that you are saved. That is not the gospel for us today which is a free gift of GRACE when we believe and trust in what Jesus did on the cross for our sins. Eph 2:8 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 KJV Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I was a non believer who found God through careful study, and unwanted confrontation with evil. Finding the inspired works of Dr. Heiser was crucial to my journey. I will forever be grateful to him for his great, scholarly mind, his honesty, and his power to understand truth through mythos. I pray that Michael rest in peace and that his family finds peace in his absents. Dr. Michael S. Heiser will be missed!
This is not a reply to you, my only thoughts on your comment are of supreme joy and gratitude for your new freedom and refuge from the storm under the canopy of the trinity and the ridge pole of faith and worship, haleilujah.
The Dr. Is wrong on the essence of polytheism. He says the essence of polytheism is to placate the individual gods to have a good life. But by that logic Christianity especially Catholicism which is the utmost proponent of demonology and spiritual warfare through exorcism would also be polytheistic.
Polytheism is the belief that various aspects of divinity are disconnected from eachother. Both monotheism and polytheism admit that the Divine takes on different forms for different people and people have affinities and methods of worship for those individual idols. Christ on the cross is an Idol, Holywater is an idol, because magic or prayer ritual is enacted in order to sanctify those objects and make the divine abide within them. Otherwise all water would be holy water, the necessity for proper incantation and ritual to be performed in order to call down the presence of the Holy Spirit or word of God (Jesus) to inhabit and be present as the force of blessed blessing within it is exactly the same thinking as bringing down any deity from any monotheistic or polytheistic religion. What differentiates them is that all of these forms of divinity the trinity the angels and even the human soul are of God singular and so cannot be said to be seperate ultimately, they are seperate in appearance and activity but in essence they are a unity without any opposition of intent. They are of one ultimate purpose and desire and are only seperate for the sake of enacting particular specialized activities.
However polytheism is the belief that different Gods are not of a singular essence but are seperate and they are in competition in there ultimate goal. Mars and Venus in Greek and Roman belief have seperate agendas and essences they can thwart eachother and be jealous of eachother and must be appeased individually. In a monotheism like Christianity Christ can be worshipped exclusively and one does not need to worry about offending the father or the son or the angels. Because they are all United and inseparable (the trinity anyway). In the Greek religion just praying to Zeus the king of the Gods does not mean that Mars or Venus will be pleased or grant you favor.
This is so obvious it is really frustrating and in my opinion it comes from a very blatant lack of sincerity and diligence in studying other religions. Even when rituals of Christianity are a near match in another religion Christians cannot admit the similarities because they see it as some sort of admission of their religion being derrivitive which is a lamentable lack of certainty and faith in their religion. Instead of seeing it as a confirmation of the wisdom of Christianity they see it as an opening for doubts, this is a genuine lack of prayer and the experiences that result from prayer. They study without actually abiding with the presence of God in there soul and heart and so there faith is only logical not experienced and transcendent. As a result they miss what makes there religion different by denying what makes it similar. Christians generally and ignorantly believe there religion is exclusively differentiated from all other forms of worship when in fact it is mostly the same. Just as humans are genetically 99% similar to chimps it is that 1% which is extremely potent and makes all the difference.
The 1% of Christianity that is exclusive in part is that though God has three aspects they are singular in ultimate purpose and are primordially present and transcendent of all limitations of our physical world. They are also absolutely indomitable, omniscient and all powerful in infinite strength and capabilities ie there is nothing that the trinity cannot do or control. This is drastically different from most religions that see Gods as being limited either by purpose like a war God is only capable in war not in say attraction or artistic beauty, same with Gods of love. That is what polytheism actually is the lack of belief in great equanimity or omnipresents omnipotence and omniesencence. God is all knowing, all powerful and all present being in every place all at once. This lack of limitations or limitlessness or overall infinite power is the difference, not the acts of worship. Often times prayers or acts of worship and even scriptural passages in other religions can be essentially identical. For instance the trinity exist in many different religions but the power and activity of the three sided God is different. Buddha for instance spent forty days and fourty nights in the wilderness and went through three temptations from the devil, this happened in 400bc so no it isn’t copying anything Christianity says.
To be a strong Christian you must see what makes your religion truly unique not just assume it is. You must know it from your own being and from examination of other religions in fearless faith not being frightened to learn other religions are similar. Seek Christ in your heart till you have no doubt he abides with you because you feel him like he was your own heart. Then no matter what you read your faith in not based merely in your limited intellect but in divine blessings.
Then you can understand that the differences between polytheism and Christianity are actually very subtle but extremely vital and powerful. Otherwise an intelligent non believer can easily turn you around and upside down when your vulnerable. A Muslim can claim all sorts of things and you will just have to take his word for it unless you know the quaran then you not only know why your religion is superior but what weaknesses there religion has, then you will be the one to so doubt and return a lost soul to Chris instead of fending off your doubts they will be fending of there doubts. But if your afraid to truly study others beliefs.
It does feel like every attempt to rise up spiritually is countered by 100 things using 100 different methods to bring you down.

Holy Spirit is the greatest teacher of all. Demons are 100% real and we encounter them without even knowing. My heart is heavy having just rec'd the news that Dr. Heiser will not recover from cancer. I've learned more from Him than any other person on this earth. My gratitude and admiration of this brother in Christ fills my heart. His life's work surely has blessed thousands of people and will continue to Bless people long after Dr. Mike is in heaven. I used to be hardcore into the paranormal. I’d host ghost hunting sessions and had a ton of equipment to facilitate communication. As a Christian, I knew what I was doing was wrong and yet I still did it. Huge mistake. Things followed me and latched onto me - and caused a ton of problems in my life. I had to give all of that stuff up.

That means that you can make a command to the demons to leave and they must obey this delegated authority that Christ gave you. That means you can command the demon to leave. And you can also plead the blood of Jesus over yourself for protection.

When I first saw this pop up, and I saw Dr. Heiser looking so hale and hearty, I admit I got a lump in my throat; that he had to endure such sickness, and that he is now dead. But then I had to remind myself that in Biblical times, the apostles considered it a privilege to suffer for Christ. Also, that he is in Heaven now receiving his reward, and getting to see first hand what he has been writing and speaking about his whole life.

I’m so thankful I found Dr. Heiser. I believe he has the right idea that linguists from 1500 years ago understood the ancient languages better. Demons are 100% real and we encounter them without even knowing. This earth is a spiritual trap, the original hebrew and greek linguist translated Scriptures says so exactly. Strong's Concordance and Jonathan Kleck in You Are Exiles analysed them extensively. As Keanu Reeves said, Matrix is a documentary.

Michael Heiser always reaffirms my heart and mind towards Christianity. For whatever reason, speaking on the specificities of the spiritual realm is quite taboo in most Christian circles. I understand it's not necessarily salvific, but it does feel pretty important to our world view, especially when you consider other religious "gods" and the conspiracies surrounding the illuminati and other Luciferian brotherhoods. There's no other way to address those issues.
My initiation into Christianity was because of a demonic encounter I had after being pulled out of my body, followed by being rescued by an angel. To me, it's of the utmost importance because my salvation followed this experience.
With that said, I'm grateful for more credible and "big voices" that cover this topic.

Demons are the only thing in life that truly scare me. I liked the take-away message that since I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior, Satan has no claim to me.
Easily one of the most succinct explanations I've ever heard. Nothing Mr. Heiser says is proprietary to him, but the language and examples he uses are straight forward, well spoken and understandable. Even though these explanations are not proprietary many Christians are hostile to them, I don't understand that.

It's very difficult to understand our place as Humans in the grand scheme of His creation. It just seems awkward that a mere Human would sit in judgment against an Angelic being, because our culture, and the Catholic church have really given Angels a grandeur that supersedes our imagination. I am in awe of some recent revelations I have discovered, thanks to your work! I understand how envious and jealous the fallen ones must be over Mankind's creation. They are God's creation & His servants. We are God's creation, His servants, but we are also His children. We share in Jesus Christ's inheritance bc we are His children. So that is why, even tho we were made a little lower than the Angels for a while, it is proper & right for us to be over them in Eternity.

I just found Dr. Heiser and feel like I have found finally found answers to soooo many things. Since the passing of a loved one in 2017 i have been on a spiritual crusade for thruth so to speak and have definitely awakened myself to the unseen spiritual battle that is currently ensuing. Soo many questions actually more that when I first started and it was like a myst blocking my from what I seek. THANK-YOU!!!! Most of what I have learned I have put at a distance knowing that lies are packaged in nice paper however a few times I really had to sit back and mull things over and over thru prayer. Really struggling with the loss of this man of God
As someone who has experienced demonic deception, in a time of my scriptural ignorance, I can testify that we absolutely need to be talking about this more. I personally had a quasi , Joseph Smith\ Mohammed type thing, right up until the point I actually started reading the Bible, for Myself. I had notebooks that had been "dictated" to me where I struggled to keep up. Look at the world. Around us and all of the confusion being sewn.

I can verify your testimony. This is "their" M.O. it seems. It sounds like you went through something similar to what I went through. It sounds so reasonable and is so seductive. This restless and relentless force pulls you down deeper and deeper with "knowledge" until you eventually, God willing, realize that there's no end and turn away. And it's only when you turn away that you see the darkness for what it really is. It quickly turns from a gentle and loving force, to a ruthless and terrifying monster.
I thank God that he embedded certain safeguards within my psyche and my character or I might still be seduced and deceived. Because it is undeniably enticing and convincing with it's reasoning and it's seduction.
Because of my experience, I'm now able to recognize the influences in places where I was completely blind. The heart-breaking part of it, is realizing that the world is completely saturated with this influence. It's everywhere, and it seems that the rate that the world is being overcome by this force is increasing very rapidly.
Calvinism deals with the supernatural world and spiritual warfare like the ostrich in the sand. If we ignore it then we don't have to deal with it. Same approach to sexual issues, don't talk about sex and people won't think about it therefore avoid it.

Smith of Mohammed-type experience, inferring that the information sprang from a less-than-desirable source, evil rather than divine. It's my hope that you realized the value of your experience and will share your notebook material both for its obvious historical and religious profundity and as a warning to others as to what to look out for in terms of demonic deception. Such conscious interactions between mortals and supernatural entities good or bad are rare, and any information-rich physical artifacts such as your notebooks, are of vital importance towards our moving closer to the truth even if it is through examination of attempted deception. So please share the contents of your notebooks as the amazing relics of interaction with a divine or formerly divine entity and proof of God they represent in addition to the chance for all to examine what demonic deception looks like. Or as mere proof of a severe psychiatric disorder. But assuming your sanity during said experience, the importance of your dictated writing is clear as it offers some type of proof of entities who, good or bad, make contact so infrequently that any such rapport is beyond rare, making said interaction and associated relics a rare learning moment for us all.

The Bible was opening up like a beautiful flower, slowly revealing its details and glory. After a Bible study course ended for summer break I was bummed out. I prayed for learning until the fall course started. Within a week I was lead to Dr Hugh Ross which opened my mind to the beautiful awesome universe.
Then a week later I was lead to Dr Michael Heiser and that's when the Bible exploded.!! My head's been spinning since and that was 4 years ago. Now that blossoming flower has become a whole field of beautiful flowers.
Just when the head spinning slows a bit, along comes another wack of new material from Heiser. Pray for truth, righteous teaching and discernment with a sincere heart and God will deliver.

My demons attack me at night. I have hideous nightmares with terrible night terrors. The last one I had there was a creature bent over me and pinching/scratching me while grinning. It had a decayed looking face. But not like a face that had been decayed like a zombie would have, but more like it’s face was just naturally looked decayed. I don’t know it is hard to describe. But I have seen this creature a few times in my nightmares. My wife will often have to shake me awake because I’ll be making noises and fighting in my sleep. I also get sleep paralysis at night as well.

..my Pastor will not touch on these matters with a ten foot pole....so sad our sterile secular society...and modernist Church Traditions (both fundamentalist and liberal) has ceded the "Mythological"...to popular entertainment...it is clear our young people are curious and crave and need this ancient knowledge...you can flip this entire narrative on its head, simply by attending your local 🎃Church Harvest Festival "dressed as a Biblical character"...a Demon 😈..

I found this documentary to be extremely accurate. I faithfully serve God according to His will as we face our darkest hours against fallen angels who have become demons that destroy Gods people. My family was murdered by them my husband my son Nathaniel age 8 and daughter madyson age 4. It haunts me every day that people can be this evil. It’s worst in world history. Evil does exactly how you explained in detail i would highly recommend this to others just learning about demonic world. Always remember let God Jesus and Mary handle things until you’re called upon to cast evil for judgement and get justice without them escaping and blaming others for their transgressions.
