    Upon further review, some of the calls made here I'm not totally sold on. Namely Iain over Steve in SC and ST (those could go either way and I change my mind with seemingly every viewing) and Steve in MM. Keep in mind I whipped together the script after one or two looks and once the recording is done it's kinda set in stone. In any case I think we can all agree that Walker took this handily and that's what matters most. 🤙🏻

      I think lains physique is just not a fan of the camera and the judges are seeing details we can't. I have to give it to him maximizing not so great genetics or structure. To give him even more creedence he wasn't really even on this show. Delts were down ams were not super detailed yet he still hangs.
      You should do a top 3 vs top 4-6 comparison so we can see how Lain and steve compared to sergio, akim and brett.

      @@okankorad57 100% think he’s one of those people where the live streams don’t always do him justice. Actually thought based on the live stream that Iain had the edge in the end because Steve faded in both pre-judging and the night show, and his back was absolutely woeful… then after seeing some pics afterwards which accentuated how much better Iain’s conditioning was than Steve’s, I think he absolutely 100% deserved second.

    Love your content. You give unbiased assessments and are one of the few channels to point out the obvious at this show. Iain Valiere’s flawed physique. I’ve been saying all year, something is wrong with the state of bodybuilding or the way it’s being judged when a ‘top’ guy is missing so many key body parts and lacking symmetry. Is it a positive direction for the sport to have someone considered elite with a weak chest, weak triceps, shallow abs, overly wide hips, a back lacking details, poor symmetry, and no calves? Should that type of deficient physique be consistently winning or placing well at top level shows?? No. This is not something to be prized. Especially when the goal is to be as close to perfect as possible. You don’t pay extra to get a diamond with more inclusions, you pay for it to be as flawless as possible!
    Yes, good posing is there to help hide weaknesses and accentuate your strengths, but when you are missing the triceps in a side triceps, isn’t there a point where you should get penalized?? I mean this guy is missing whole body parts! Isn’t this a little like showing up to a ‘wellness’ competition with no butt & thighs and always winning or placing near the top?!? I’m exaggerating a little, but if that happened, wouldn’t you be saying to yourself, “Hmmm… Something’s not quite right here...”.
    Even Arnold brought this up during the commentary. He mentioned Iain’s lack of symmetry and weak body parts.
    Iain works hard and comes in conditioned. I respect that, but this is also about genetics, structure & symmetry. Sometimes you don’t have what you don’t have. One thing covered up well I could accept, but for an elite level pro to be missing so much and still get rewarded so highly is both puzzling and troubling to me…

      Both Iain and Steve suck. Plain and simple. These 2 guys finishing 2nd and 3rd show the sad state of the Open class.
      I wouldn't even try to state all their weak points. Look at Steve's front double bi at 0:21! His arms suck, his waist is wide, he has no separation at all and never has. On the plus side Steve has very good calves - whoopee doo!! You've covered Iain's weak points, except for his posing routine which is the WORST I've ever seen!! Iain doesn't even hit a front double biceps in his posing routine, and no surprise - because it sucks. Iain's only good poses are from the side, and his front lat spread. Every other pose looks bad! I won't even mention his calves - oops - just did!! Iain and Steve suck, but Nick isn't much better.
      Nick's left arm is the best in the history of bodybuilding. It's ridiculous. In off season photos it must measure 24"??
      But it's twice the size of his right arm, and that gut is going to be a problem.
      Future Mr Olympia?? Maybe if he lives that long, and can improve that horrible front lat spread pose?? Which i'm sure he can't!!

    Agreed Tomn8er Nick has to find a better way to hit the front lat spread pose and maybe throw forward 1 quad in the ab & thigh like Cutler use to. It helped Jay hide his box'y shape as the eye was drawn to the separation in the abs & quad rather then looking for the perfect X frame - very few in open have!

    Ian should definitely no be getting second or third, and he SHOULD NEVER win a decent bb show. He should be in the top 10, but with no calves, very very weak back, narrow clavicles, very week chest, and no triceps. In bodybuilding from the major groups of muscles, you have back, arms, quads and hams, shoulders, chest, abs, calves, and forearms. 1/2 of his back is missing, 1/2 of his arms (triceps, is missing or is just plain ugly, or there), 1/2 of his chest is missing, and his calves are missing. I would estimate give or take that a 3rd or 33% of his muscle groups are not there, and will never be there, because it's genetics/injury related. What he does have left which is 67% of a bodybuilder, is not perfect, average-ish and his lines are pretty ugly on a small somewhat narrow structure, with good biceps and quads. So in his current form he should look like 50% of a Mr. O, and and like 60-70% of a Arnold winner level stage. With ideal conditioning, working on his back, chest and tris, his max potential ever should be 70-75% of a Mr. O and like 85-100% of Mr. A. Looking at his competition in Arnold he should have gotten 4-5 th. It doesn't matter how conditioned he is, conditioning in the first 6, except Nick was like 85-90% in the same range, but the were structures in the first 6 that are easily above 15% differential in mass/structure/flow. This is bodybuilding, so structure, mass should ALWAYS come first, otherwise don't make it bodybuilding, this is about building your body, adding mass to it, first and foremost, aesthetics after. A decent show has decent competition, so you can always pick somewhat complete bodybuilders with decent conditioning, so picking 2/3 rds of a bodybuilder in the first callout is not excusable. The only possible explanation is corruption. Fuck Iain and the corrupt judges

  • @wmedwards1181
    @wmedwards1181 13 днів тому

    I personally would have Steve winning the side chest and side tricep because if you don’t have a chest for the side chest or any triceps for the side tricep then you don’t meet the mandatories of the pose and don’t deserve to win it, plus Ian was just so flawed, with no calves, no triceps, small chest, and a narrow back, that to me is not worthy of second place at the Arnold classic so I would have Ian in 3rd and Steve in 2nd but nick still is the winner.

No fuhkinggg way in hell is steve beating nick in the most muscular and the exact reason he didn’t in the most muscular awards. Cuz nick blew everyone out of the water. Damn near the most conditioned. And 100% the most muscular on stage. I feel like people forget everyone is built different. Yes nick may not have the structure of the guys like Steve, but his detail and overall muscularity outweighs that factor, in almost everyone opinion. That’s why he fuhking killed it🥳

    Definitely agree with what another commenter said. Iian improved and Steve got slightly worse for finals. Since it was really close the whole way, they rewarded the guy who improved which makes sense.
    Another aspect is that streve couldn’t really “expose” iian that much.
    He has a much betttwr chest and tricep, but iians posing for those side shots is way better.
    Iian has weak ab and thigh, but Steve couldn’t pull a very impressive pose off either .
    Iian has a mediocre to bad back lat spread, but Steve’s condition made that shot quite lacking.
    Same thing with back double, tho I think iian was just overall better.
    Basically any of the really weak spots of iian are also weaker areas of Steve for this show (outside of claves lmao) and Justin just lacks the legs to push himself above those guys.

    Nothing against Iain but I really don't see how conditioning can carry him so much on these top tier shows, his physique is absolutely flawed, no round muscles bellies, small chest, no tricep shape, no calves, weird proportions, mediocre back, maybe it's the damn photos and in person he appears way better but so far I really don't know man, I feel like Steve has the superior physique, better build, I think that Steve's downfall was the fact that he was starting to fade HARD especially from the back during the finals

  • @alanbialeck948
    @alanbialeck948 2 роки тому

    I'm glad to hear you don't care if it's unpopular because Nick has one of the best most muscular poses in bodybuilding and he also has the best rear double bicep and bodybuilding maybe ever. They haven't quad shot on Nick you're correct about that's when his place looks wide is in that one pose. Also rear last bread wasn't close bro go back and look at the picture when they're in the pose next lower half smokes their ass along with the fact that he's so much thicker in the upper back and more defined it's not even close. However, his rear double bicep is probably his best post. Is front of a biceps nice too and both his side shots are really good. Next worst pose by far is the last spread and front relaxed. He cleans those up before this Olympia and he's going to be tough. He has brought tremendous conditioning for the New York the Arnold and Olympia in 21

  • @abhisheksathe123

    Not to hate or anything but Iain's triceps are totally flat from a bodybuilder point of view, no separation between triceps muscles, no horseshoe, Just a plain muscle. Same story with his calves his legs are pretty good but his calves throw off the whole scene. I also agree with Tom about Ian lagging in side chest, His far peck doesn't 'protrude' or like jut out like Nick's or Steve's pec does. I dont know if these points are due to his training style or due to his genetics, if its his training style or something that he can change then he should work on it. Nick has really good physique if only Nick had a smaller waist nuke everyone at every show.
