- The first cleaner is 41 year old Estate Agent Michelle Rafferty. Michelle’s home is all about minimalism and order.
The cupboards are meticulously organized; the walls are bare and every piece of cutlery is precisely placed in drawers.
Her children are encouraged to keep up her high standards by maintaining extremely neat bedrooms which Michelle will score out of ten.
Her three bathrooms are always impeccable and to stop them all being contaminated, Michelle will lock her “five-star bathroom” to prevent it from being used. Michelle hopes to learn not to live so minimally and clean constantly.

there's 3 different groups in Britain, the slobs the over cleaners then there's us the inbetweeners who watch these shows
and use it to get ourselves cleaning : )
@@Plethorality 100% heehee
My question is , do you in Britain only have toothbrush to clean toilets? no normal brush or dish brushes? I ask since in this show cleanheads only use toothbrushes ...
@@FritzEschkobar yea we have designated toilet brushes, I assume they use toothbrushes as it it easier to get smaller spots of muck.
@@FritzEschkobar hahaha!! it looks like that, ay? glad Australia has toilet brushes, deigned specifically to make your toilet look like no ne uses it!
plus, we know how to flush! how come even the ocd people dont even flush first!!?? cleaning a loo is simple!
I love how the messy people judge the ocd ones 🙄
Ikr, when there are poop stains all over their toilet.
@@elaineoh3984 I agree like your filthy and your judgemental about being clean 🤮🤢
They are equally sick. One is just more socially acceptable.
@@imakefoodhappen "socially"? Those are health hazard. Mold, insects, rodents, fungus. Unhealthy for the pets too. Just imagine the cat urine all over. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
they feel judged too. the ocd people are calling them disgusting and reacting negatively to their homes (with reason, imo), but it's a typical method of self defense when ppl feel under attack.
Is it just me or do these programs makes you wanna clean your house
The type of brits that will end up with grotty homes are the ones that are too lazy
I am looking at them, so that I get motivation 💪
No
Yep, I cleaned a lot yesterday because of that XD
Hahaha I thought I was the only one😂
Amar. What a legend.
He is a sweetie 💖
I don’t think he got the credit he deserved from Sylvia’s friend!
He's such a wise, kind soul. I wonder what his day job is. Caring profession?
@@sarahholland2600 he’s a pharmacy manager
He’s a beautiful soul
In my language is name means “to love”
Seems quite suitable
Amat is a sweetheart with a kind soul. Michelle has more patience than me. Sue would have irritated me beyond my ability to cope.
Yes, he is definitely.
When he gave the woman a hug it made my day. Beautiful human being.
I don't get people like Sue. You agree to be a part of a TV show where you know you will have to clean after yourself and, obviously, get rid off of some stuff. Unfortunately, when the time comes to do it they starting their attitude show towards a person who came to help them for absolutely nothing in return.
Disgusting. I would've just show her a middle finger, told her to fu¢k herself up under all that useless stuff and proudly walk away.
AMAR
Damn, when Amar got emotional that no one came to help her i shed a tear! What a champion
Big up Amar Singh 👏💯 the most well mannered and politest person in the whole of the entire series 💯👏
The gay Polish guy is up there aswell
@@BedroomBully88 and the gay ex flight attendant that have beautiful pink shirts, he also was a gem.
I bet half of the things these hoarders want to keep, they didn't even know existed until they were sorting their stuff.
Poor Amar - Sylvia got all the credit from her friend, it was like Amar wasn’t even standing there!!
nono she said "He did it all by him self, bless him." so dont worry
That was disappointing, but Amat’s a real sweetie, we all know he was responsible for all the sorting and cleaning. He’s an incredible young man. 😉
I love the music they play when you see the dirty homes 😂😂😂 I expect a wizard to turn up 😂😂😂😂😂
I loved that man helping silvia . He is so kind and his care and concern comes from his heart x
Sue's attitude at the beginning sucks! 'Why would I want to cook if I can eat out every night' eughh
It's ok if she wants to eat out every night .
Yh if she is a secret millionaire but she lives on a cleaners wage and bank of mum
It’s when she said and you normally plan meals on a Monday and Thursday and made that stupid arrogant face. Honestly her attitude is appalling. She won’t accept her house is a bloody mess and she’s just lazy.
Yeah and apparently we are all sad for going to the super market and cooking our own food. I guess the 99% of people need to change and start keeping expired batteries in the house LMAO
i think it was a defense mechanism caused by shame. JMO
amar was clearly raised so well, what an absolute angel
Amar should find his calling and it's staring him straight in the face. Go out and help people...heck, who knows, maybe..even make a few friends along the way 🙃 He was a generosity incarnate on this journey.
I love this show and love cleaning. That said spraying and spritzing all kinds of chemical inside and breathing it in is no better than breathing in dust or mould. Be careful with cleaning products, most of them are not needed for a clean and safe house and are toxic.
Yeah, and don't mix stuff too! Bleach and vinegar make dangerous gas, and they're 2 very common cleaning products!
I always air every room with the window open for at least an hour after cleaning. I don't use over scented room sprays, as the cat starts sneezing😁

I was raised with a Mum who bleached everything. We were barely allowed in the house. All she did was go to work, come home, cook and clean. She was born in 1933, so her main concern was what the neighbours would think. I keep my place clean, but I use vinegar, and natural products. I could not care less what my neighbours think. I love to go for walks, read, socialise and help my friends. Life is about impressing yourself, and being a kind and compassionate person. I always felt sorry for my Mum. She saw my livingroom full of toys, books and games. When my son was little I played with him all day. I cleaned when he napped or was watching tv.She told me I was spoiling him. He is grown now and says he had a great childhood. That is something to be proud of.
Amar… there are few people like him that truly remind us of the good in the world and l feel he deserves every good thing that comes his way. It’s not easy to not judge someone when you’re confronted with situations like this but he just sees this as someone who needs help ❤️
Amar has such a wonderful personality!
Favourite episode. Please bring back Amar. He is so lovely
Amar is a human angel ♥️
Amar you are a hero! You did an incredible job as well as being a kind and beautiful soul.
I know silvia said her children do help her and all rest of it but no way would I allow my mum to live like that shame on her children for doing so and Anwar is a beautiful and amazing human being hat's off to him.
Let's hope now silvia can keep it clean.
Anyone else absolutely love Hayley? I've seen all the episodes of this show and she is so impressive, friendly, kind, brave and strong. She inspires courage in other people which is a wonderful quality. I hope she is doing well in life!
She has a channel on here called Hayley's help 😊
She is like the occ mascotte to me
@@firefly5874 She is the hostess of her fellow cleaners.
She has a cleaning programme on 5 star. She’s really grown and her OCD isn’t mentioned.
nope shes the one i cant stand
This was the best episode of this show I've seen. I think watching it could really help a lot of people understand hoarding and maybe stop judging people by the state of their homes, cars, etc. It really well demonstrates both sides of the OCD coin. Honestly, I believe, whether your OCD "clean" or an extreme hoarder, something happened in your life that caused you to be that way, and you're easily triggered by certain things. The mess, dirt, and germs trigger the OCD cleaner. The sterility and unlived in look triggers the hoarder. And, that brings forth all sorts of emotions and can overwhelm the person, and that resulting stress can be downright paralyzing. Anxiety becomes panic, and panic becomes paralysis.
The compassion of Amar was so beautiful to watch.
Presumably the tv company bring a team in to do this within 4 days? There is no way one or two people can do all of this in 4 days.
Amar, he just figured every thing in a good way..well done
what baffles me is how Hayley cleans so much in lovely clothes and doesn’t have any bleach spots on anything she wears
She said in another episode that she's ocd with her appearance. She won't do anything that causes a sweat incase she loses a false eyelash... I imagine she would throw out any clothes with any marks on
Bleach is my kryptonite!
Amar was so kind. Bless him
Both OCD 's did a fantastic job and were truly kiod and caring. I hope that all participants here learned something to enrich their individual lives.
Oh my god...Sylvia has a Gustav Klimt headboard ....I want one.
Next episode please👍🏻
It’s so hard to see how these people struggle to let go of things….compulsions come out of pain and seeing them stuck in the hoarder’s rut is tragic. And although the OCD cleaners get a lot of praise they are trapped in a world of terror as well (know this from experience). This was my favorite episode so far seeing how they were able to communicate and gain some insight into what’s driving their habits.
This is what I’m watching when I want to be inspire cleaning my flat
They possibly cannot clean these houses in 4 days. 😂
I used to clean much more but i get scared while watching this show few years ago. I was scared to became mother as are those cleaners, that i would not let my kid sit somewhere or who knows what else... i learned to be little messy. I truly love this show 😄
44:16 "Look in the corner." "What's, the cat died?" 🤣
I love Hayley. She always makes me laugh!
‘Oh my goddd… I love the smell of bleaaach’
THAT POOR CAT !!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙀🤢
A suggestion for Sylvia: for the first time through a room keep all the clothing as long as it is not torn or damaged. Then on her own (or with a professional wardrobe make over person), go through the clothing and pick a really nice selection of two to three dozen items to keep. Donate the rest.
Going to use this to declutter. Thanks
Steaming washed, ironed, and folded clothes? Really now? This would only trap water particles in and create mold. Especially if he doesn't open windows to circulate the air.
Exactly what I was thinking 🤔
But let's be honest; the ones that suffer from OCD spend so much time cleaning that they don't really enjoy life, and that's the saddest truth of their illness.
My mom definitely has OCD, I grew up like that and now I struggle a lot, I actually started therapy last year. I'd suggest to get help because your kids gonna suffer no matter what. Living with a parent who suffers from OCD is incredibly difficult.
I really hope that therapy to help you going to through difficult´s experiences. And you to discover to light and peace to your self.
My mum is a messy junk collector and I’m slightly OCD. Can we swap mums😂
I agree, my mum has diagnosed severe ocd and she’d freak out if it takes longer than 5 seconds after using something to clean it and put it away , she’s getting better but the absolute stress of me just living with her nearly killed me.
That portrait of Sylvia is amazing
I've taken over the task of declutter and clean top to bottom someone's flat. I literally spend 3 days just picking rubbish off the floors. Today I finally got to start washing ceiling and walls in kitchen. I just feel it'll never end. Every little surface has to be cleaned 🙄
You're so kind and generous! In the show they have a whole team... Try to recruite family members and friends, it will go faster. Lots of luck! 🙏🍀🐦
@@lisasim he's so embarrassed he doesn't even want his mother around. As for friends, it's them they don't want to step in due to the state of the filth. Am not doing it for free btw. But a lot lot cheaper than a proper team of cleaners would ask for.
That's exactly what seems really off about this show. If they actually do all the decluttering and cleaning of these really extreme homes in four days, there surely must be other cleaners/helpers involved than the OCD cleaner who is featured. I do enjoy the show regardless, but I feel it could be more honest about the time and effort required to achieve the results shown.
@@rczv well in all episodes the ones in need of help are somehow doing stuff and taking part in the process. Others a lot, others a little. Don't know how much difference it makes. 4 days seems outrageous to me. Unless they just moved the rubbish into rooms they're not tackling with.
@@michaellennon13 I think that while absolutely necessary, the fact that the people who live there do take part is mostly just slowing down the process since they usually find it difficult to get rid of their stuff.
Amar is hilarious 😂
Amar is an angel 😇
Am i the only one who gets paranoid than those women whose cleaning so much and hates germs all the way but don't care bout where their hair goes when they clean up and not tying it? 😢 Idk. I felt like they catch up all what they hated in their hairs and gets in their face. Lol 😑
Was really waiting for this so i can get the energy to clean.
Sue’s a riot 😂 I love her
We did not need to see him cleaning his tongue
I love this episode, everyone is just lovely. Michelle was a little judgemental in the beginning but was understanding and kind to sue. Amar has a heart of gold and cared so deeply for Sylvia’s well-being. I feel for Sylvia, having to deal with past trauma.
Nah, Sue wasn’t so lovely
Sue wasn't very deserving of kindness
Love that they always gives us an update in the end of the episode! 🙏🏻
Amar, such a kind soul.
I'm disabled so I employ cleaners to come round once a fortnight and I think that's enough. But I'm also nowhere near as bad as those hoarders! I wish I could throw more of my stuff away that I never use but it's difficult to find companies that will do that for a decent price considering my flat isn't anywhere near as cluttered as these hoarders. I'd end up paying over the odds for a comparatively minor de-clutter so I'll just have to live with my minor clutter.
Sounds great, actually! Maybe you can pay your cleaner to stay an hour or two more, once in a while, and every time tackle another area that's been cluttered... just an idea...
Maybe a friend or relative could help you out?
@@nickiemmy9177 no I'm on my own now. I'm going to have to lose my independence and ask for help cos I simply can't look after myself properly anymore, I'm too ill to cope. It's depressing but I got to admit the truth.
@@seedhillbruisermusic7939 Honestly wishing you the best. Hopefully everything gets sorted 🙏
@@nickiemmy9177 cheers Nicki 🙂
How does she not understand the other woman’s clean ways-when she used to be a ‘clean freak’?
this lady's poor cat must have been so stressed living in that mess. Cats hate clutter!
The waste some of these people produce is staggering. Like, you dispose of the toothbrush after using it? Wtf? Just soak it in bleach! It will be good for weeks or months of use, depending how often you use it. If you trust the bleach to clean your toilet then you can trust the bleach to clean your cleaning tools, too. Horrendous wastefulness to just toss perfectly good tools like that. I use old, used toothbrushes for cleaning, I just soak them in bleach first and after I've used them for something dirty. Stop killing the planet with your waste.
I am glad someone pointed it out👍
Bleach can poison you, I clean toothbrushes by letting them soak in boiling water. Safe to consume yet medical grade sanitizer ion!
The hoarders waste is waayyyyy worse - piles of stuff not being used then just getting thrown away cause covered in cat pee or something?? That is wasteful
@@abigailtrumbo178I think the op was talking about the cleaning toothbrush, not one to use in the mouth
I’m surprised Amar Shook her hand at the beginning-knowing how much she would be touching filth most of the time…..
Cleaning is the perfect activity to do in Lockdown
So ... PERMANENTLY cleaning then
Is it? I thought it was eating until you couldn't move 😂 those were dark dark times
I loved the mutual respect and comprehension between the 2 pairs. Amat is so very understanding and polite in saying what needs to be said.
My heart goes out to the lady of the accident, she didn't chose to live like that and is trying her best.
Eating out every night, she must be a secret millionaire. Takeaways and restaurants are so expensive
ammar is the most sweetest guy ever....he is so gentle, passionate and so caring....salut him
I'm super tidy too, but anyone else feel like the OCD crew are OTT - constantly trying to out-do each other? 'Ooh, I'm retching the most!' 🙄 And Sue saying she doesn't need to clean her cooker because she 'eats out every night' is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard... 😒
I love how the Parrot takes the Tea Bag out of the Cup
Fact she packed one toothbrush made me laugh youl be needing far more than one love 😂
He steams everything in its cupboards and drawers oO
Well, for me steam= wather = mold
Not really, that steam in those steamers is extremely hot and dries extremely quickly
I don't get the first women she talks about how she want to get back on track but argues with the women who is trying to help her. like do you want help or not
I lift Michelle’s children up…praying they don’t grow up with issues of their own because of their small beginnings with their mother’s ‘strict regime’ with them 🥺
What a nice group - Amar so wise yet with such a big problem of his own at home with all that cleaning and the others. Most people, as someone else says below, are in the middle between these two extremes. I do feel the messier people are a bit lazy but in terms of life description proper psychiatric OCD is actually much more crippling and depressing and a dirty house sadly so although we watch this and love to see it all cleaned up it is those with OCD who probably need most help and therapy.
The hoarder: My life philosophy is busy doing nothing...
Advise to the cleaner: Get a life...
"Let's live life beautifully" -that, is beautiful Amar
I loved this show! They need to do another one
They put these shows up on a regular basis.
Amar had the perfect words and compassion. What a wonderful person.
What lovely but complicated people.
She likes hoovering air...she really made my day with this statement.
Lol overwhelmed... I lived it for fifteen years with momma and my mental challenged sibling. In order for her not to be taken i had to put up a front to cps. Meant i cleaned the home by myself. I trusted no one and kept allll secrets hidden. I didnt hear overwhelmed then ..😢😂😂😂
There are some people defeated by life and realise how they ended up to be and there some that are just plain lazy and make jokes about it. And then there is the other side of the coin. The ones that have OCD and over clean and force their children and spouses to live like they suffer from the same thing.
Those who hoard and shop would find volunteering so much more rewarding than drowning in stuff, it fills up time and makes them feel good to help others rather than buy tat - it should be enoucraged.
Amar is the perfect husband .. Masha Allah
YES IL THIS SHOW IT MAKES ME WANT YO CLEAN MY WHOLE HOUSE
While you're at it can you pop on over and spring clean my house if you're feeling up to the challenge lol
Me too but I never do it 😂😂
I don't know why this type of videos really motivate me to clean, even is clean allready....
Hallelujah a new episode!
Quite a sad lifestyle Suzanne was living. It appeared that she didn't want to change or more importantly didn't see the need to change. She would not part with anything. All Suzanne did was move things from one area to another. When you're having a general declutter you need to be ruthless and part with things which you never knew you had in the first place or had forgotten you had. Just hope the organised home will make things easier for Suzanne. Doubtful whether she'll maintain her home the way Michaelle left it. Amusingly Suzanne reported that she was a cleaner. Just goes to show that you can never judge a book by it cover. Tragic to hear about Suzanne's past but if she's aware of how she used to be and how she's become now - surely that's all the more reason to make a change NOW and make more of an effort?
It's an emotional attachment to the items. I think the accident changed something for her. In another episode, an obsessive cleaner became that way after an accident
Have you ever considered becoming a motivational speaker? Please, don't.
Acquired brain injuries can cause personality changes and affect a person's ability to self-motivate and form aspirations.
@@bumface5821 Quite sad of you to voice such a thing. I believe in freedom of speech. Everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless if these opinions differ to yours. If you want to live in a country whereby opinions are oppressed then please consider moving across to a tyrant country. In the meantime respect people's opinions or simply move on.

Loved this episode everyone was lovely and did such a good job of the two homes xxxx
Both of my parents are hoarders. My dad has a traumatic brain injury. Their relationship to "stuff" is not normal. It's ridiculously disordered and I'll never ever understand
Awful to tell a teenage girl to wear her late mother's clothes instead of buying her any new. Mean spirited big time.
As a car detailer, I see these people cleaning their cars and I cringe so hard...
What do they do wrong?
the hoarders don't take care of their own appearance as well
Love your channel thankyou for the uploads 😊
An new episode is always welcomed... Good job
Be good to see how the people get on after wards and it helps them for future
Its amazing some of these people that love cleaning so much have such cheap rubbish vacuum cleaners
Haley had got a Vorwerk vacuum cleaner. the Mercedes of vacuum cleaners
I always judge the standards of my own cleaning whilst watching these shows. It must be awful having OCD and never feeling clean enough.
OCD is a very complex disorder with many different forms, contamination OCD only being one of many types.
'i like to Hoover the air...' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amar seems so sweet. Yes his cleaning is very obsessive but he seems to have a very kind heart
What darlings sylvie and sue are!
I have always wanted to have a more consistent episode on how they clean or a sort of a time lapse the episode is long for nothing without actually showing nothing of the cleaning methods n the process itself
Out of all the episodes this is my favourite. Love both occ and the hoarders.
Some of the homes need a specialist team not just one person imo.
The only thing I don’t understand is how they don’t tie their hair back when cleaning!!
I can watch it 24h 😂
One thing I don’t understand is why their parents and friends didn’t helped all those people to clean out their houses and they are asking for help from strangers…
Because they would not allow a relative to do it and would not listen to them. It would only cause unpleasantness and conflict. Like how kids often won’t take advice from or listen to their parents. It is better coming from an outsider. Close relations would get angry and not have that level of patience due to over familiarity.
I thought that as well, how could you see your mum living like that. 🤷♀️
