“If there’s not enough space to hold everything you own, this means you need to get rid of some things.” YES! It doesn’t mean you’re disorganized, you just have too much stuff.
That was for me. We downsized and I did not throw enough out and I am starting to feel surrounded by “stuff”. House is clean but crowded so it feels messy 😏
Thank you for saying cleaning is exhausting. It really is! I always think I’m being lazy or a wimp when I take breaks! It was so validating to hear you say that. Thank you.
Great advice Another tip for bathrooms Spray the section you are going to clean and then let sit when you are removing the clutter ie; spray your tub/shower then go to the vanity to start tidying Give a quick light re-spray or rinse and caked on grime will come right off That’s the trick with cleaning solutions, you need to let them work for just a bit before you start scrubbing 🙂
As a very young adult on my own, I decided to make cleaning very therapeutic, relaxing, and fun; it became very rewarding, and I managed to find a sense of FREEDOM. I'd turn on smooth jazz, light a candle & heat up potpourri for AROMATHERAPY lol😅 I made that decision to have a healthy respect for the task & my obligations because my mother WEAPONIZED cleaning as torture, a way of PUNISHMENT, & power over me. I didn't want it to manifest in any other way; such as hoarding or OCD. I craved a healthy balance @ best. #MommyDearest
I agree! "Complete one task at a time from start to finish" and don't "jump from task to task, you'll get sidetracked". There's a Chinese proverb that says, "He who starts many things finishes few".
Always take breaks! It's vital; these cleaning regimens are apart of our lifestyle. Taking breaks is an excellent TIP fit our health & needs. Plus, you don't want to have any resentments of cleaning your home & environment. Especially if there’s resentment or childhood trauma built around chores or cleaning demanded of you as a PUNISHMENT or TORTURE.
The thing the drives me crazy the most, with my family, is they get it out and DON'T put it away 😩 Making a sandwich, making coffee; dang near anything. Put things away after you're done with them and close those cabinet doors 🧐
Yes, always take a break when needed! I always use to clean from top to bottom. Dusting ceilings, light fixtures, wash walls if needed and then I would clean everything else..Of course you can just heavy clean once a month. I'm disabled now and have to have someone clean for me but I kind of watch to make sure it's done the way I did it, lol. Sorry, that's my OCD/Anxiety coming through 😊❤️
You do a beautiful job. I had a cleaning lady for different times in my life, and I would never leave my bathroom counter with stuff everywhere. I don’t live like that though. I put stuff away. But if I was a cleaning lady I would put it all in a basket, clean and leave the basket of “stuff”. I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting stuff away, opening drawers to figure out where stuff goes etc. I guess everyone is different. I would also put chemicals in the toilet and give it a swish before she came. Now when I was going thru chemo and treatment and she came I told her I can’t do my normal. I also tipped her a ton as I appreciated her so much. My friends chipped in and paid for several visits for me versus flowers. It was SO appreciated.
I admire your work ethic. Hard to find now. Putting things away us big one for me. I'm housekeeper & 62 yes it's hard work. Cleaning is satisfying to me. Thanks for videos. 😊❤
Yes...I said yes to it all...use something and put it back...clear out stuff and clothes you don't use..too easy to get overwhelmed when trying to do it all at once 😁♥️
The fact that people actually actively live like this & then have other people clean up their mess Godbless this women & everything she does thanks for the great tips the 1st will be last & the last shall be 1st. for sure.
Yes 🙌🏾!! Good tips and energy always m’dear. Pro Cleaner Tip: Place a paper towel in the bottom of a garbage can. It makes things tidier for what’s going in and then dumping it after.
I bought little baskets from because my one client had SO MUCH crap on bathroom counters. I was scared of offending them. I was like "Oh I just had these extras at home, if you don't like them just toss them." But 4 years later they are still there. I moved little containers for their teeny scissors and clippers and tweezers. That bathroom used to be a nightmare because of having to move all that crap!
That was nice. I had a client who’s master bed/bath was legit full of stuff. Every surface was piled with clutter - the bathroom counter had dozens of bottles, etc. It was one of those bathrooms when anyone saw it they were like “how do I clean this??”
When a client leaves all their stuff laying around…how do you know where to put it? I’ve never used a cleaning service but if I did I’d at least have my stuff picked up and put where I want it to go. Seems like they left you to organize and clean.
I have someone come every other Monday to clean. My husband and I Sunday night always do a run through and pick up anything that needs to be put away on surfaces that way when they get to the house Monday morning we can pick up the handful of things we had to use that morning and just put those away-coffee, skin care, etc. We don’t really not like knowing we’re our stuff is going to be later nor can they be mind readers. So we always attempt to have all the surfaces cleared off. It helps us maintain a clean/orderly house as well. They are here to mop, vacuum, dust aka clean…not be my maid. I’m not paying them for that. Unless that was agreed to and you’re paying them extra to pick up your mess. My philosophy at least.
from what i know you dont touch anything. i used to do stay over til they made me full time housekeeper. but i never touched any of the guests things i may move em out the way where it needs to be cleaned but thats about it
You did great! One tip that works for me. You can shop vac or swifter dust shower/tub to remove hair before cleaning. Kind of clears the gross factor. Hope this helps. 😊
That’s why if you clean after used and when needed you will keep everything well with not need for big cleaning days. Buy only what you need when needed!! 🙏🏻🕊
Such golden rules: 1: Give everything a place (home) 2: If there's not enough space for everything you own you need to get rid of some things. 3: Out things away, right away! Don't just set it down, out it away. It took me too long to learn this in my young years.
You know how rare you are. The ability to keep a house is just so rare. To maintain your environment and life is a very difficult adult skill. thing . I was force into the work.as a young girl. Still had to work and go to college. And still I see people in high positions that's cant maintain organization or system. It's really foriegn . Lol. 🧡
I subscribed my wife to this channel so she can have some entertainment. Thank you for your help, I feel it's easy for her to understand and it teaches her something.
Yes yes yes....there's 6 people in my home and the clothes are drowning me. I just got rid of 5 bags of clothes and shoes...I kept thinking about the way I felt when I didn't have a lot and fining something worth while at the thrift stores had me so hype and I would cherish it. Instead of having a whole bunch of stuff I literally don't care about
Don't set it down-- put it away! Lord I needed to hear that does of truth. Love this video bc it addresses my top 3 issues: swapping tasks, too much stuff, and no one puts things away (until I go around and clean up behind us later).
I make so many trips, from one room to another while trying to clean, which exhausts me. It's like walking five miles, just to clean one space. If I get distracted, I can never finish. So, I give myself 10 minute "Tidy" breaks.
"Put it away" is such a big deal. If you can't quickly put a thing away then you need to make it a home. And for me, I have macro organizing bins for putting things away in the daily, then more detailed spots at end of week...like with paper clutter. I have a file organizer that hangs in my kitchen. A slot for incoming mail and paper items that i need to open, a slot for "to be paid" and a slot for "to be filed", for things i need to keep but don't want to deal with on a busy week night. Then at end of week, i sort the mail, throw out the junk, manage the important stuff, then deal with the file slot: recipes in the recipe book, important papers in the filing system. Takes 5 minutes and keeps the papers off my counter tops!
What has helped me is I put Everything like random items or items misplaced in one pile, put of the way. then clean all surfaces when all clutter is moved. Then i go to that pile to put everything away. So much less stress than walking back and forth to put stuff in its proper place while simultaneously cleaning surfaces.
agree with putting it away IF it is in the room you are working on, if it goes to another room make a pile right outside the door of the room you are working on. If you leave the room or area you are focused on you may get side tracked in doing other thing in other areas.
My only thing is about one task at a time is the degree of dirt. Some areas need to set with the product before wiping. That’s when I’ll tackle something a bit easier so it’s just a wipe and rinse on that previous area. Or taking that break you mentioned 🎉🎉😅
Thank you for your guidance. My mom died when I was 6. She was very clean I wish I'd have learned from her but I was sitting my younger siblings. Your tutorial is so helpful

Agh, yes. Crazy making.
The sole purpose of a cabinet door is to hide what’s behind it. Leaving a cabinet door open makes no sense ARGH.
And if they make a mess clean it.

I would be the one precleaning🤦♀️
You’d be surprised how many don’t care 😂
I have a cleaning lady that comes on occasion and yes I do preclean my mess 🤣🤣
Right. They're wrong for leavingg that toilet like that. Maybe the house was vacant or bathroom not used much.
And tht wooden bin without a bag? Absolutely disgusting. My pity ass wouldn't clean it on purpose 🤣
