- The first volunteer cleaner is Property Manager Gemma, 23, who lives near Middlesbrough. Alongside a full time job, Gemma spends 25 hours a week cleaning.
OCD diagnosed three years ago, Gemma likes her pet Chihuahua dogs to wear protective boots and her long suffering boyfriend must poo at work to avoid dirtying her pristine toilet.
Gemma wants to challenge her obsession and get her cleaning under control so she can spend more time with her 5 year old daughter.

I'm addicted to this show. Does anyone else watch this and feel like cleaning their house? 😂
YES, that's why I watch it
@@madhatter909Jesus is coming back. Believe He died for your sins and rose again then repent to be saved. For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God [acknowledge Him to His honor and to His praise].❤
I watch it while I clean 😂😂
Yes that's why I watch it 🤣
100% 😅
I absolutely love how well Gemma and Annia worked together. How they opened up, listened and tried to understand each others vulnerabilities and then work through them as a team and supported each other.
OH GOD HOW MUCH IVE CRIED FROM THEM😭😭😭😭😭
Annia's house was just cluttered - still Annia, her daughter and Gemma were able walk normally through the house. And at least they are able to sleep on the beds not curled up
@@Anonymous-qj4wp ⁹⁹⁹⁹⁹
Me too. It was so touching of heart, when Annia and Gemma talked of theirs children of past
Really lovely to watch
I have really bad depression and recently let my house go to seed for a long time. Dishes piled up on every available surface in the kitchen, clothes and general crap piled up in the bedroom (I couldn't even see the floor), going for weeks on end without changing my sheets, or cleaning the bathroom... The ONE thing I kept up was cleaning the toilet, for some reason. Since I started watching this series my house has become spotless and I've been keeping on top of it. Clear benches, clear floors, changing my sheets weekly and a sparkling clean bathroom. Something about this show motivated me to clean more than I ever thought possible. So glad I found this channel it has changed my life!
I hope you’re doing well now ❤❤❤
We all , go through bad times Hun. Me too. Its ok, to do nothing and just rest. When you feel better, just do a little bit day by day. God bless. Xx
That's amazing!!!
I have OCD. Strangely, it's made me feel I'm not OCD enough 😂😂😂😩😩😩
People who can't clean up their houses should not have pets 😒
I agree. Especially with rabbits.
I'd say it depends how messy a person is. My bedroom is pretty messy (I tend to hoard stuff though I am getting better at getting rid of things I've kept for years) but my room is full of all my pets. 3 reptiles, 4 goldfish (in 2 different tanks), a bird, a spider and a praying mantis and I manage to take care of them. They are well fed and have adequate space
@@angelnunnart No. Rabbits are not more important than other animals, they are equally as important. So there is no *especially* for rabbits.
@@rebeccaxx I don't know why I said that. But I don't think I ever thought that rabbits are more important than any other animal. Because yes, all animals deserve the same amount or care and treatment.
spot on.. it is not safe for a human to live with the pets stuff or the animals to be living in it.. I have a dog (5st puppy) who sheds constantly and will pit his feet on the work tops when am not watching, but I clean my whole house at least twice a day, I have ocd which was kinda under control until my parents got me the dog after i lost my last one who was the best dog you would ever meet. I am also disabled (no longer in a wheelchair) but my muscles are really weak and in content pain. but i still make sure my home in clean. As i take pride in where i live.. I have to admit michelle’s house is one of the filthy houses that was just dirty not so much cluttered
Iam so addicted to this channel and when iam done watching each episode, i see like everthing is not clean and i spend hours cleaning😂
glad we can be your inspiration 😂
When you've finished cleaning your house could you find the time to pop around mine to clean my home? lol I do let things get on top of me at times but no where near like those portrayed in these programmes. But like you there after watching programmes like this it makes me more conscious to make that bit more of an effort.

Sarah poet. At least you go cleaning when you`re done watching! I`m not even half way through, I feel the urge to clean straight away, no joke...
Gemma and Annia are absolutely amazing human beings. My heart goes to both of them.
Dai is so wonderful. He gave Michelle a hug and told her he was proud of her and filled the void her cold unloving mother made
I also love that he set the boys straight too :0 I hope they stayed friends after
I love Dye he's adorable. Shame on Michelle's mum and sons she clearly needed help and it took Dye to help her get back in track
I was hoping to see any of them show her real love, but all I saw was some weak hugs 🥺 that’s a woman that is screaming silently for a real hug and some affection
@@msellieblac yeah but i think Dye was wonderful. Just goes to show that family don't always give a crap, sometimes outsiders actually care more
Dai
The sons were raised to be lazy and didn't have the skills to keep their home tidy because that was the example Michelle showed them with her own lack of house keeping! It's unfair to expect them to. Hopefully Michelle and her boys are keeping it tiday together.
@@ellie9248You don't need "skills" to use a hoover, toilet brush, mop or dish cloth. They're just bone idle teenagers
The two ladies doing the declutter together is so lovely. They really needed each other at that time ❤
Hayley is just adorable. I wish this series was still being made.
Yeah it was my favourite series I have seen all year.
She has a UA-cam channel called Hayley’s help and uploads regularly :)
I just found some episodes I have not seen yet, excited as a child!🤣

This show is much better than the US Hoarders. Love to see the cooperation over drama.
I really feel for people who suffer pre &post natal depression/anxiety. It's such a Hard slog to feel yourself again after problems with mental health it Really is
Cleaned my living room ,bedroom and bathroom now I need motivation to clean my kitchen.
do it or gemma will come to your house and put your kitchen in the bin
weird. I am (was, I am in the process of dealing with the problem) a hoarder. However, the tidiest and cleanest part of my house is the kitchen..
This was a lovely episode. The two mothers who bonded over their love for their kids was so emotional and wholesome.
I just love Dai, hes so humble and shows so much caring!!! What a change in her house, and boys helping her now.
Are they? She really needs to instruct and not ask her sons to do things around the house. They gave the impression they couldn't care less. It was obviously the state of the house was getting to her. Give people an inch and they'll take a mile.
Dai is a nice reasonable guy willing to understand and help Michelle
But-foolishly-keeps-the-powder-room-door-locked-in-his-own-home....a-bathroom-that-should-be-for-anyone-to-use-without-having-to-wait-in-line-upstairs!!!
Interesting video. Some people from completely different spectrums. The man who locks his bathroom after he's cleaned it - this approach sounded a little odd. The single mum who had both of her sons living with her made me feel a little angry. She should have instructed and not asked her sons to help around the house. Given the choice none of us would do anything. She looked embarrassed whereas her sons appeared to laugh it off. As for the single mum who was a hoarder, her house didn't appear to look that dirty. It was just cluttered.
If you grow up with your parent not cleaning, you wont clean either
@@ChillTheChilli not nessicarily sometimes you often do the opposit I think they got comfortable and didn't WANT. To change and address responsibility until they had to
Believe it or not but spiders are actually good to have inside a house. They help getting rid of small bugs and they are usually a sign that you don't have any dangerous moulds hiding at home.
I don’t understand, when being so scared of germs and then go on and clean with longhair hanging in the dust and all.. I would have put my hair up and covered!
It's absolutely disgusting to see those poor rabbits in small cages, they need outdoor areas to run as a minimum!
Unfortunately, in the UK pets are more a status symbol than they are something to love and take care of. At least, that's what I noticed while growing up and continue to see.
My thoughts entirely. These days with the internet there's no excuse. I have 3 guinea pigs and they have a space of 9' x 5'. They need the space to run around and live happy fulfilling lives, not to just sit around....
@@jaytucker8834no offense but 9x5 isnt enough either, imagine how much space they would have in the wild ..
@@fawnieee rabbits and rats are a status symbol? xD sometimes it's too cold for the bunnies outside. there's no reason to assume they aren't being let out or looked after properly.
Wow! Mad respect for Dai there when he spoke with the two boys! He was respectful but also to the point with his feedback, and was so calmly assertive in getting them helping straight away! Parents on this planet could learn a lot from that! I'm sure he has stuff he needs to work on in terms of making sure he prioritises fun with his kids as well so that they know how to prioritise fun which ultimately leads to them being able to properly prioritise their own self care, but yeah! Awesomely handled!
Edit: And then they left ....
My god. That little girl,s face , when she saw her room. Beautiful reaction.
these two cleaners are the nicest ever. such good pairings.

I appreciate the creators of this show.... It's my favorite on UA-cam
Mine too😃
The respectful honesty Gemma showed is commendable to the enth degree & the way her & Annia worked together even though both were lightyears outside their respective comfort zones is a testament to how anything is possible with support. Those ladies are friends for life & nothing as result of the experience could be more beautiful.
Me sitting in my home: ah nice and tidy
4 mins into watching an episode of this: time to go bleach my bottles of bleach.
🤣🤣
I fear for some of the kids of the cleaning obssessives..apart from the damage that insane levels of chemicals flying around in their spray-filled homes can cause, their kids are going to grow up susceptible to every germ going. ive only known one person that behaved like that and their poor kid was constantly ill becasue she barely let her outside and she lived in a completely sterile environment..
Don’t fear they not gonna live irresponsible disgusting
I also fear for the kids that are growing up in germy and unhygienic environment. I honestly think it's worse. I don't disagree with you, but it goes both ways.
@@angelnunnart being brought up in filth is 1000× worse I had both dirty and very clean people in my family and honestly would live in the clean home more than the dirty because all your clothes are dirty, personal hygiene isn't attended to properly ect it's horrible and you get bullied as well
If they smoke you smell horrible
You often don't have alot of clothes because there all to small (due to not getting rid of stuff) or in the wash and u end up running out of clothes because they don't do basic and regular house work

No growing up in such a strict need-to-be-clean environment can sometimes cause people to become hoarders or against cleaning later on since their minds will automatically associate cleaning/minimalism as a big part of or even the cause of their bad childhood.
Ngl that tiny dog was very adorable stepping in his little boots XD
Cute but not needed.Dogs need the paws on the floor otherwise it affects their gait.
@@sicooper4230 actually completely depenst on the shoes and the shape of the paw.
Where I live there are a lot of sleigh dogs, many use boots as some of them have soster paws and some of them have much harder due to genetic lottery as they are mixed breed hysky x running dog breeds and other arctic breed so some might get softer paws.
The snow is sometimes very hard as it has a layer of ice on it especially at the end and start of the winter.
Also here winters are so cold that most soft padded dogs and those tiny pooches need boots when there is minus 15-35 degrees celsius.
I have treated many frost burns on these dogs feet and instructed the owners to wear boots when it is so cold that the dogs tries to lift its paws up when standing still.
Ofcourse its silly when they are not actually needed and those cheap wish etc boots are not toogood for the foot but no, they are not very harmful at all when chosen and worn correctly.
But the dog is still adorable nothing can chnage my mind XD
Hahaha when I saw him walking it cracked me up😂😂😂 sooooo cute I watched it over and over. ADORABLE!
Dye showed more respect in a short time than the family
Dai.
I had houserabbits and they were always cleaned out and picked up after. Once they're litter trained they rarely poop outside of the litter tray. And if they're kept clean, they don't smell.
Very true, I just became a Bunny mum recently and no one knew he was here till they see him hopping about 😂, nothing chewed either 👍 I have such a good boy! 🥰
@@loopylou6841 the last one I had would balance one paw on my hand and wash his face with his other paw. How adorable is that?? Beautiful pets.
Likewise here. Made the mistake of using a hutch someone gave me and put them in the garden. The following morning they had gone. Suspect = foxes.
Very true, I have two the only thing you can smell is sweet hay!
I had one, I would lay some journal in a corner of the guest bathroom and trained him to poo in there! Didn’t hv a cage but a pet bed. Rabbit poo does smell a bit so I would change the journal at least 3x a day
Gemma and Annia are so sweet and respectful of each other. You are both lovely people girls. ❤

Hoarding is such a hard thing to just stop doing 🥺 I would like to think I’m a clean border. I have got better over years of decluttering but still have a long way to go. Letting go of things is one battle and stopping things coming into the house is another. I do enjoy this show. I grew up in more of a show home.
Well done for your efforts in getting over your bad habits I'm proud of you x
I heard someone say once 'Do one hard thing, and do it every day', Even if all you do on day one is clean off a single windowsill of clutter or empty one drawer - you have achieved something, you are getting somewhere. It is too overwhelming to tackle it as a whole for most people. I really hope things get better for you.
Book Clear your clutter with feng shui helped me to heal my hoarding habit. J wish you all well
It broke my heart when Michelle said her boys don’t tell her they love her 😢 my sons (18 & 21) tell me every day. We never go to bed or leave the house without telling each other and I’m the same with my mom. They help me clean and cook all the time and they’re in full time college. There’s no excuse, her boys are just lazy! I’d be devastated if my humans were like that.
Regardless of everything, I am wondering how come they have that much time to clean 😅
My mother is a kind of cleaning OCD. She just does not sleep and cleans. As a child, I hated it, she was not with me but with the iron or washing mashine or sth else. Now I hate cleaning, doing just because I heed it to be done

Wauuu, Gemma and Annia are so sweet and nice young ladies! Love them! ❤️❤️
Going to clean something right now that I watched this. Just can't help it.
My heart pours out to Gemma.
Annia's home was a major effort. I know because I've been helping a friend since July last year clear out both her own and her parents' homes while my man has been doing repairs for her. It has taken this long and it's still nowhere near finished, but at least now she will let other people in. it's far more hard work, tears and tantrums (both her and I) than it looks in these videos. For the first time in years she has her own bedroom back and was able to decorate her home for xmas. So it really has been worth it.
Tantrums..? Really??😂
@@johanneabelsen1644 Oh yes, really. We're more like sisters, so a fair bit of storming off in the huff went on too
Please, treat your animals with respect. Rabbits. Don’t. Belong. In. Cages! If you don’t want to free roam them then set up a play pen. They neet to interact with each other (social animals) and they need an unlimited access to hay and chew toys.

I dread to think how much of these chemicals are actually in these people bodies. It's madness. Just as bad as the hoarders imho.
I can't believe how some people could be so dirty. Just pure laziness, they call an OCD cleaner to do ir for you. Gemma was so nice and Dai was straight and direct about how filthy everything was.
It strikes me that a lot of the OCD people seem to have nothing to actually do with their lives. Do they have hobbies?
Nope.
It’s likely they don’t work, are on full benefits so they probably get over £1k a month free, it’s easy to ‘work the system’ with certain mental problems. I’m not one of those people though, thank god I have a job and pay my taxes.

It funny how cognitively dissonant these OCD people are. If they all just knew they are made significantly more of bacteria than human cells they'd stop their germaphobia.

Throwing away toys cos they aren’t put away😩
How many toys can one person play with? Time to move on. Close a chapter in your life. Obviously if there's something treasurable then store it away in the attic. Why clutter and make a mess in areas you use frequently?
@@paulrollings9606 I'm talking about the OCD mom who throws away her daughter's toys if she doesn't put them away not the mom with a hoarding problem.
