Brilliant work. Like how you use simple techniques and lots of attention to detail. Old cars and fuel pumps. Loved these old Fairlanes and LTDs, so many surprise and delight convenience features on them like the AU Fairlane with the secret door compartment or little opera lights or the pin striping on the rear glass.
I must say, you done well & these engines are bullet proof & great on fuel economy. I never had a issue with mine. Was beautiful to drive! Think im gonna have to be in it to win it. 😂 goodluck to all!
Ok, so we're going to ignore the fact that my 2006 BF FAIRMONT (classy boi) has the same goddamn interior plastic side skirts at amore than decade old car, but if 13:21 doesn't demonstrate the level of care and attention given to this car (and others, the VL is mint again), nothing will. I love a good deep, DEEP clean. But cleaning out the pedals with a pick and degreaser? Equally amazing and OCD, and I'm down for the whole process. One overly sensitive mic away from being a car ASMR channel - or George Auto 2. Love your work big fella.
I had an NF Fairlane some years ago. Only a 6, but damn it was just so quiet and comfy. We called it the Luxobarge. Some times it not about going around a corner at max G’s. There’s something to be said about just cruising in total comfort and a bit of Aussie style.
Wow mate! Not only do you have some amazing skills for restoring a car, your editing is unreal! New subscriber here! Keep up the good work, these kind of videos will have you at a million subs in no time!
Job well done guys. A mate had a '98 Concorde (special edition) Fairlane of this shape. A real head turner, but an example of how technology has changed. His '98 5.0L V8 pumped out a whopping 168kw! My soccer mum V6 Kluger gives 200kw. I love the VL there too. Bought a brand new one in April 1986. One of THE very first manuals (SL-poverty pack). The VL was released in the February but Holden pumped out Executives, Berlinas and the odd Calais first for the rental car industry.
Thankyou kind sir! 168 kw was Huge back in the day... I remember the release of the Barra engine and was amazed at how a 6 could have so much power! Thanks for your comment I appreciate it
Awesome job, the effort you boys put in definitely shows. I'd almost swap my 2018 224kw camry for it. I hope whoever gets this car seriously looks after it. This was a new suggested channel. I'm glad I watched also subbed
I always had a soft spot for these. They just looked classy back in the day. I realise they are rare these days, but in 1995 that year had the most sold with 816.
Yes! Thank you! Many of the clips I cut super short as you can see , it’s days of footage , I want to get it even better before the next person takes her
I learned to drive on a standard EL falcon in high school. I remember them feeling nimble and sharp compared to other cars at the time. Also there must be a method to polish the rubber on the window trim, these looked like glass brand new.
Owned a one owner bought for 2500$ (covid project) sorted it and sold it on to a guy who gave it to his Father awesome old car same colour same interior , nice work.
Great job guys, turned out mint I have one the same, 5 litre but in the gold colour as my daily driver Running on Simmons with dark windows and nice exhaust, turns heads and gets compliments wherever I go
What a good feeling. I just got my DC back on the road. E-series are old enough to feel cool, but young enough that they drive well 💪 If you wanted to, you could daily this
i used to work at the factory making the carpets and map pockets for those, i remember the LTD carpets being heavy to work with due to the rubber sound proofing on the underside.
wow ! I always wondered what the real differences were between Fairlane and LTD and couldn't really find any soild information online about it, thank you for that insight!
brings back memories when I changed the EL fuel pump in 2004, I didn't seal it correctly and had fuck around with it in wagga wagga on way to melbourne
Ahh the joys , did you have any issues taking the ring off ? We spent a while trying to get it off made it look simple in the video cutting to the break though moment
Something that is sadly lacking in today's vehicles is the class and presence of cars like these old Fairlane's and LTD's. Big beautiful luxury cars with a nice V8. Thanks for returning her to her former glory and not making it too bogan lol.
People in Australia are incredibly handy. So many out there who are unknown do great things with carpentry, car repair etc. It’s about time for these car guys to bring their work onto the UA-cam platform and make a name for themselves. Great to see this happening.
Those engines are absolute power houses. It's a shame ford stopped making them. 170kw from a 5L is insane power, much more than the 165kw the six delivered.
My 98NL is getting a close door spray, reupholstered leather front seats, Steering Wheel reconditioned. It is worth spending money on it, because the modern stuff is crap. I think the thing I enjoy the most is not hearing alarms.
And of course i get recommended this a week after i sold my 97 fairlane ghia 6 to a mate, i think i've been but by the e series bug, i need to collect them all
Just a tip, steam cleaners work amazingly for cleaning interior plastics, from floormats to pedals to plastic seat trim just use some all purpose cleaner and it makes them look brand new
WIN THE CAR HERE 👉🏼georgeauto.com.au/home-df/
They were a $70,000 dollar car in 95..
I remember the neighbours buying one brand new. White but looked amazing. He thought he was the king in our street. I couldn’t argue otherwise
You were doing pretty well if you had one of these ! Do u remember what they did for work ?
That land yacht looks absolutely stunning, good job guys.
Thanks ! Pretty happy with the before and after
better than any Statesman built they are still boat anchors
I love these LTDs. You did a fantastic job. It’s beautiful. Well done mate.
Thank you! Cheers! Appreciate the comment
Great to see this thing reborn. Well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thankyou ! Yes sometimes these old things just need a proper clean and you can see the potential again
I must say, you done well & these engines are bullet proof & great on fuel economy. I never had a issue with mine. Was beautiful to drive! Think im gonna have to be in it to win it. 😂 goodluck to all!
how many kms did you get out of a tank usually?
Thanks mate and good luck if you entered !
@@nickbest573 reliable, maybe, but surely they drink like a fish
@@nickbest573 I owned one engine is definitely not bulletproof
Easy son. Fuel efficient they weren’t and reliable if owned and maintained by one owner - maybe.
V8 sounds even better when she's had the incredible detail, clean up and spray!
Great job guys. Where I grew up, a lowered LTD was the "King of Cruisers".
Well done mate you’ve saved that car from an early grave.
Cheers Pat

Haha yes I just saw them all crusty and though how satisfying it would be to do that … and it was ! Thanks for your nice comment I appreciate it

Great job on restoring the Ford LTD
great work guys. very satisfying to watch and glad to see these cars being restored and kept on the roads
Splendid job! 👏🏼👏🏼
What a nice little piece of aussie history
Agreed! I had to save it ! Honestly just wanted to bring it back , not keep it.
Your effort has paid off. Legend.
Wow mate! Not only do you have some amazing skills for restoring a car, your editing is unreal! New subscriber here! Keep up the good work, these kind of videos will have you at a million subs in no time!

Yeah you don’t see them too often .. especially in the LTD variant , the v8 was also optional extra
You totally saved that old girl. Great job. So many hours cleaning i bet!
Yes! Thank you! Many of the clips I cut super short as you can see , it’s days of footage , I want to get it even better before the next person takes her
Remember when they were brand new , thanks to you bah. Looks Siiick 💯☝🏻🇦🇺

Top job boys. From a sad old girl to a ripper LTD.
Immaculate job given she's 30 years old and looks brand new now. Nice touch with the 19'' alloys too!
Thanks mate! she is far from perfect but a lot better then before
Another fairlane saved, nice work lads!!

Awww yes seeing a genuine Fairlane LTD brings back so many good memories. Done a top job guys! Well done!
Thankyou! car will get so much more respect now having a makeover for sure! thanks for you comment

wow ! I always wondered what the real differences were between Fairlane and LTD and couldn't really find any soild information online about it, thank you for that insight!
Nice work. That is outstanding.
What a beautiful sedan. Very elegant and the colour is just gorgeous. I have never seen this Ford model before.
Thankyou! yes its the Top of the range model of that year!
The transformation is amazing
Thankyou
Great video and fabulous job on the car.
Beautiful car guys she's a beauty fingers crossed on the draw next year.
Thankyou mate ! and good luck ! I’ll drop some more videos on it in the meantime
Exhaust is good! Looks and sees it's full of rust.
The rims it came with are from the EF Fairmont (and not the Ghia).
Yes ! Initially I thought maybe they were factory but after some research 🧐 these come with the full chrome spec , I’m keeping my eye out for some
@georgeauto Great!
I really enjoyed watching this what a transformation awesome work 😎
Glad you enjoyed it
Great work fellas ❤

EF is my favourite series of Falcon hands down.
Yes they are very sexy
Nice find
I had a base EF GLi wagon. This was like unimaginable super luxury in comparison...
Something that is sadly lacking in today's vehicles is the class and presence of cars like these old Fairlane's and LTD's. Big beautiful luxury cars with a nice V8. Thanks for returning her to her former glory and not making it too bogan lol.

Thanks for the nice comment
Looks great mate
That's a load of work but he results are worth it 👍
I love this car. Well done boys. I have one already but I want this one as well 👍🏼
Thank you 🤗 it would be such a nice cruiser , would be amazing to keep it but have too many cars already
Ahhh, the days when Ford got its styling cues from Kelvinator.
Bordeaux the best luxury colour they came in imo😍🫦 absolutely stunning!
@AUFalconObsessor03 sparkling burgundy I believe.
I totally agree! This suits it so well ! Thanks for your comment
Makes me regret selling my NF fairlane...such a good shape mine was only a 6 tho
maybe time for another one? maybe enter the draw to win this one ?
Proper vid🎉good attention to detail george
Thankyou mate! Appreciate the nice commen t
The Australian crown Victoria
Those engines are absolute power houses. It's a shame ford stopped making them. 170kw from a 5L is insane power, much more than the 165kw the six delivered.

Damn, that’s satisfying
Totally agreed ! I literally bought it just to clean it and make the video
Hey mate, great stuff - really appreciate the the attention to detail. How long start to finish did it take you?
Thanks mate ! This car we tried to smash it as fast as we could .. was about 2 weeks off and on in total I’d say around 20-30 hours
I wanted an LTD more than a merc
They are a sexier car ImO
My 98NL is getting a close door spray, reupholstered leather front seats, Steering Wheel reconditioned. It is worth spending money on it, because the modern stuff is crap.
I think the thing I enjoy the most is not hearing alarms.
My favourite LTD. What more on leaves a car like that to rot?
Beautifull car coming from a holden bloke
Thankyou ! Appreciate the nice comment
And of course i get recommended this a week after i sold my 97 fairlane ghia 6 to a mate, i think i've been but by the e series bug, i need to collect them all
Need more content on the xr6 turbo!
Got a long video in the works at the moment just have to finish off the edit on it
Just a tip, steam cleaners work amazingly for cleaning interior plastics, from floormats to pedals to plastic seat trim just use some all purpose cleaner and it makes them look brand new
Yes ! My missus was saying the same thing I recon I’m going to get one with the little brush on the end
Looks maaaaaad!
Thankyou sir ! Agreed
Looks fantastic, i have a df in the same colour
Twins ! Does yours have the OG wheels on it still ?
@georgeauto I've kept them in the shed, it's got concorde meshies on it atm
nice! im trying to find a OG set if you're keen to sell and in Vic
@georgeauto sorry man I'm in wa, but I'd wanna keep them anyway, as they are original to the car
@ ok I respect that 100% ,
f'in brilliant - as German Australian who is lovin his Falcons I approve! cheerio from brisbane
I love this model, would love another one, i have a clean NF at the moment, But a DF much better
I learnt that the NF is the fairlane if I’m correct ?
@georgeauto yeah the NF is the Fairlane equivalent of the DF LTD
Your boy is bigger than you 😂
Westie chariot
yeah the bois
Does the rear Self Levelling Suspension still work?
I don’t think so , havnt checked though
If an EF/EL doesn't start hit the dash below the vent then hit the key.
Don't hit the key turn it ha
Them wheels look killa on the lane what falcon they off ?
G6e FG , running spacers on there to fit not RW unfortunately
@georgeauto oh they look so good I've got 10x14 and 8.5x14s on my Ed wagon yeah just moved to Vic there are not kind here to pass cars 😅

subscribed
amazing ! and thank you! hope you enjoy the future videos we put out. !
Kudos
Thanks
I have a 1995 blue EF XR8 that needs the exact same job on it, anyone want to make a video doing it up, I'll pay for all the materials 😅
nice car that one, worth saving for sure. Materials are one thing, labour is the biggest part!
Great content there George really enjoyed it and I do also have a video coming onto my channel a bit later on today as well, cheers from William.
I will check it out thanks again Bill
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks mate
did the door handles fall off yet?
Nar these ones are good 👍 I thought it was the X series the faulty ones
Yeah well done on just the 'deep clean' 😂
Thankyou kind sir
Good ol LTD's. Mint job boys I bet you all had a great time restoring the old bitch.
Haha he’s so satisfying seeing it come back
Poor neighbour
Yeah first world issues we have
Sounds like it has a blocked exhaust.
Hmmm I’ll have to investigate , on first revs it was blowing some stuff out, seems good now though
👌
Thanks 🤩
Did you say „tasma” (ducktape) in Polish?
bro your back yard may be haunted. iykyk
Haha not wrong there
I don't care about that junk!
14:12 who's the babe in the back?
We call her grandma , Halloween decoration I scored and thought it would be a great feature in a few videos
