I must say, you done well & these engines are bullet proof & great on fuel economy. I never had a issue with mine. Was beautiful to drive! Think im gonna have to be in it to win it. 😂 goodluck to all!
Brilliant work. Like how you use simple techniques and lots of attention to detail. Old cars and fuel pumps. Loved these old Fairlanes and LTDs, so many surprise and delight convenience features on them like the AU Fairlane with the secret door compartment or little opera lights or the pin striping on the rear glass.
Youve come a long way George much credit to you and your son he's got a great teacher a lot of hours in the background to build your UA-cam channel. It doesn't just happen you've done all the hard yards Well done you put your money where your mouth is no shortcuts It's hard-to-find honesty and credibility nowadays People want top dollar but don't put in the effort not many like you anymore
Wow mate! Not only do you have some amazing skills for restoring a car, your editing is unreal! New subscriber here! Keep up the good work, these kind of videos will have you at a million subs in no time!
Great job guys, turned out mint I have one the same, 5 litre but in the gold colour as my daily driver Running on Simmons with dark windows and nice exhaust, turns heads and gets compliments wherever I go
Wish this video went for an hour longer. Breaks my heart Ford stopped making these. Back when you can go to the motor show and get posters of these and hang them on your wall. Those were the days. Awesome video
I had an NF Fairlane some years ago. Only a 6, but damn it was just so quiet and comfy. We called it the Luxobarge. Some times it not about going around a corner at max G’s. There’s something to be said about just cruising in total comfort and a bit of Aussie style.
Beautiful car fellas. I was always a Holden guy growing up, but now that im old i realise that all cars are great in one way or another. This thing is sweet.
Job well done guys. A mate had a '98 Concorde (special edition) Fairlane of this shape. A real head turner, but an example of how technology has changed. His '98 5.0L V8 pumped out a whopping 168kw! My soccer mum V6 Kluger gives 200kw. I love the VL there too. Bought a brand new one in April 1986. One of THE very first manuals (SL-poverty pack). The VL was released in the February but Holden pumped out Executives, Berlinas and the odd Calais first for the rental car industry.
Thankyou kind sir! 168 kw was Huge back in the day... I remember the release of the Barra engine and was amazed at how a 6 could have so much power! Thanks for your comment I appreciate it
Awesome job, the effort you boys put in definitely shows. I'd almost swap my 2018 224kw camry for it. I hope whoever gets this car seriously looks after it. This was a new suggested channel. I'm glad I watched also subbed
What a good feeling. I just got my DC back on the road. E-series are old enough to feel cool, but young enough that they drive well 💪 If you wanted to, you could daily this
Ok, so we're going to ignore the fact that my 2006 BF FAIRMONT (classy boi) has the same goddamn interior plastic side skirts at amore than decade old car, but if 13:21 doesn't demonstrate the level of care and attention given to this car (and others, the VL is mint again), nothing will. I love a good deep, DEEP clean. But cleaning out the pedals with a pick and degreaser? Equally amazing and OCD, and I'm down for the whole process. One overly sensitive mic away from being a car ASMR channel - or George Auto 2. Love your work big fella.
Yes! Thank you! Many of the clips I cut super short as you can see , it’s days of footage , I want to get it even better before the next person takes her
Brilliant work guys. Loved how you restored those 5Litre V8 fender badges too! Very clever. You’ve inspired me to get cracking on my NC Ghia. Mind me asking what’s in that spray bottle you used to clean the interior with?
Great to hear that we inspired you, in the bottle I actually used a little bit of dish soap mixed with laundry concentrate , made it smell also like fresh washing
Owned a one owner bought for 2500$ (covid project) sorted it and sold it on to a guy who gave it to his Father awesome old car same colour same interior , nice work.
I learned to drive on a standard EL falcon in high school. I remember them feeling nimble and sharp compared to other cars at the time. Also there must be a method to polish the rubber on the window trim, these looked like glass brand new.
brings back memories when I changed the EL fuel pump in 2004, I didn't seal it correctly and had fuck around with it in wagga wagga on way to melbourne
Ahh the joys , did you have any issues taking the ring off ? We spent a while trying to get it off made it look simple in the video cutting to the break though moment
i used to work at the factory making the carpets and map pockets for those, i remember the LTD carpets being heavy to work with due to the rubber sound proofing on the underside.
wow ! I always wondered what the real differences were between Fairlane and LTD and couldn't really find any soild information online about it, thank you for that insight!
Something that is sadly lacking in today's vehicles is the class and presence of cars like these old Fairlane's and LTD's. Big beautiful luxury cars with a nice V8. Thanks for returning her to her former glory and not making it too bogan lol.
People in Australia are incredibly handy. So many out there who are unknown do great things with carpentry, car repair etc. It’s about time for these car guys to bring their work onto the UA-cam platform and make a name for themselves. Great to see this happening.
And of course i get recommended this a week after i sold my 97 fairlane ghia 6 to a mate, i think i've been but by the e series bug, i need to collect them all
Those engines are absolute power houses. It's a shame ford stopped making them. 170kw from a 5L is insane power, much more than the 165kw the six delivered.
I remember the neighbours buying one brand new. White but looked amazing. He thought he was the king in our street. I couldn’t argue otherwise
You were doing pretty well if you had one of these ! Do u remember what they did for work ?
That land yacht looks absolutely stunning, good job guys.
Thanks ! Pretty happy with the before and after
better than any Statesman built they are still boat anchors
I love these LTDs. You did a fantastic job. It’s beautiful. Well done mate.
Thank you! Cheers! Appreciate the comment
Great to see this thing reborn. Well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
I must say, you done well & these engines are bullet proof & great on fuel economy. I never had a issue with mine. Was beautiful to drive! Think im gonna have to be in it to win it. 😂 goodluck to all!
how many kms did you get out of a tank usually?
Thanks mate and good luck if you entered !
@@nickbest573 reliable, maybe, but surely they drink like a fish
@@nickbest573 I owned one engine is definitely not bulletproof
Easy son. Fuel efficient they weren’t and reliable if owned and maintained by one owner - maybe.
Thankyou ! Yes sometimes these old things just need a proper clean and you can see the potential again
Great job guys. Where I grew up, a lowered LTD was the "King of Cruisers".
Brother. Beautiful work! love it.
Breathing new life into the old girl. Did an amazing job brother well done. She’s smicko
Youve come a long way George much credit to you and your son he's got a great teacher

Appreciate it mate, lots of time and effort was put in. Thank you!
What a nice little piece of aussie history
Agreed! I had to save it ! Honestly just wanted to bring it back , not keep it.
great work guys. very satisfying to watch and glad to see these cars being restored and kept on the roads

Your effort has paid off. Legend.
Excellent video
Great job on restoring the Ford LTD
I really like the way you edited this and really enjoyed seeing this car come back to life, Loved the detailing asmr, must have taken a few months?
Great job guys, turned out mint
I have one the same, 5 litre but in the gold colour as my daily driver

Awesome job. Well done!
V8 sounds even better when she's had the incredible detail, clean up and spray!
Splendid job! 👏🏼👏🏼
Nice work. That is outstanding.
Awww yes seeing a genuine Fairlane LTD brings back so many good memories. Done a top job guys! Well done!

The transformation is amazing

Thankyou! yes its the Top of the range model of that year!
Such a gorgeous colour
Great video and fabulous job on the car.
Well done guys.
Great Resto, would love to see the raw uncut footage of this project. All the hours, nothing left out.

Your order of operations is pretty weird but you can't argue with those results. Great job.
Looks great mate
What a good feeling. I just got my DC back on the road.

If you wanted to, you could daily this
Remember when they were brand new , thanks to you bah. Looks Siiick 💯☝🏻🇦🇺
Immaculate job given she's 30 years old and looks brand new now. Nice touch with the 19'' alloys too!
Thanks mate! she is far from perfect but a lot better then before

I love this car. Well done boys. I have one already but I want this one as well 👍🏼
Thank you 🤗 it would be such a nice cruiser , would be amazing to keep it but have too many cars already
I learned to drive on a standard EL falcon in high school. I remember them feeling nimble and sharp compared to other cars at the time. Also there must be a method to polish the rubber on the window trim, these looked like glass brand new.
Love this!
I rekon my house is cleaner after watching that. Big effort boyz. I’m impressed

Wonderful job guys certainly know your job thanks for sharing would love the car
Thanks 👍 poor old girl we couldn’t leave her to be neglected
Damn, that’s satisfying
Totally agreed ! I literally bought it just to clean it and make the video
That's a load of work but he results are worth it 👍
brings back memories when I changed the EL fuel pump in 2004, I didn't seal it correctly and had fuck around with it in wagga wagga on way to melbourne
Ahh the joys , did you have any issues taking the ring off ? We spent a while trying to get it off made it look simple in the video cutting to the break though moment
Top job boys. From a sad old girl to a ripper LTD.
i used to work at the factory making the carpets and map pockets for those, i remember the LTD carpets being heavy to work with due to the rubber sound proofing on the underside.
wow ! I always wondered what the real differences were between Fairlane and LTD and couldn't really find any soild information online about it, thank you for that insight!
f'in brilliant - as German Australian who is lovin his Falcons I approve! cheerio from brisbane

What did you clean the interior with
The rims it came with are from the EF Fairmont (and not the Ghia).
Yes ! Initially I thought maybe they were factory but after some research 🧐 these come with the full chrome spec , I’m keeping my eye out for some
@georgeauto Great!
Looks fantastic, i have a df in the same colour
Twins ! Does yours have the OG wheels on it still ?
@georgeauto I've kept them in the shed, it's got concorde meshies on it atm
nice! im trying to find a OG set if you're keen to sell and in Vic
@georgeauto sorry man I'm in wa, but I'd wanna keep them anyway, as they are original to the car
@ ok I respect that 100% ,
Makes me regret selling my NF fairlane...such a good shape mine was only a 6 tho
maybe time for another one? maybe enter the draw to win this one ?
Yes pls
And of course i get recommended this a week after i sold my 97 fairlane ghia 6 to a mate, i think i've been but by the e series bug, i need to collect them all
You should keep its original mags
Beautifull car coming from a holden bloke
Thankyou ! Appreciate the nice comment
The Australian crown Victoria

Need more content on the xr6 turbo!
Got a long video in the works at the moment just have to finish off the edit on it
My favourite LTD. What more on leaves a car like that to rot?
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks mate
Hey mate, great stuff - really appreciate the the attention to detail. How long start to finish did it take you?
Thanks mate ! This car we tried to smash it as fast as we could .. was about 2 weeks off and on in total I’d say around 20-30 hours
subscribed
amazing ! and thank you! hope you enjoy the future videos we put out. !
My cars always end up looking like the beginning.... maybe I should take more care of them,,, but I just buy another that looks like the end..
Mint
I never knew Ford used a v8,I thought they are the straight 8 kings
Kudos
Thanks
