Good work Mark, you've turned it from a neglected old NC into a respectable daily that anybody would be happy to drive👍
Fantastic find by Andrea 😊 And well done Mark in making her daily not only look good...but safe for her to drive. With everything that's going on up the river....she deserves this 🤘😊
Cut springs and spacers - I don't think safety is high on the list of priorities. Lucky you guys appear to be in SA where roadworthy certs are non-existent. You'd have no hope passing that in Vic/NSW/QLD
@@kymbusby yeah man, 3/4 of a coil cut and we’re all doomed 🥴 Righto bud 👍🏼
Always a good day, when you're in an E-series V8!🤘🏆
Hope those sills aren't too bad!🤞
I used to prefer the car with factory rims but that was a great result.
I remember when these were new in 91 and the thrill of hearing a V8 coming out of a new Ford again!
A Diamond in the rough!
Great job, it looks awesome with just a little bit of TLC.
I think the best mod was yeeting that cannon muffler out the shed door. 😂😂
@@TheIronEmpire
Congrats on the new hoist mate, it will be a game changer for you I’m sure.
Shed Goals👍
Reminds me of my 93 DC LTD. Absolute beaut of a car and never let me down. Im 41 now and definitely looking for a cruiser for me and my 3 boys. Makes me think one of these old girls would be a fantastic addition. Well done on the car. She looks amazing!
Good work cleaning up the NC! What a find and what a bargain. You now have the perfect donor car to V8 swap the TE Cortina.
Great work Mark. Merry Christmas to you guy's all the best for 2023
1500 bucks you sure in the hell got a nice car sure worth it plus it sounds pretty good and there's not that much rust on it Jesus that's a score in my book
Great buy mate! Loved the cortina it the background, was a favourite of mine when I was a 7yr old. Random choice I know, but yanno!
Awesome stuff guys. Love it.
Great video as usual and what a awesome result, a classic in its own right now days 👌👌
Car looks great. They were a nice piece of kit to look at and ride in when new. Bit dodgy using the rattle gun to do up the wheel nuts. Would have liked to see you use a torque wrench to apply the correct torque on high tensile threads. Being a Ford owner many times which of the electrics work. I assume some still might. Ford electrics are always a great weekend hobby. As long as the driver has a light, right foot the fuel economy may stay in the 20s. Overall, a nice ride.
Mint! Did the same with a vz wagon paid 2k just some tlc and a set of wheels 2 years later still an awesome daily!
what a minter. LOVED the old NCs still do actually.
Bloody Hell Mate. That looks awesome.
Love these, used to have an NC Ghia V8. In silver colour. Great car to be driven in.
Well done guys good job and for the missus what can I say she's just a natural she finds the bargains everywhere now she has a great daily to drive around in
She does well! She found it, went and looked and bargained all on her own 🙌🏼
Got one
Two years ago for$700 put wheels brakes new computer and distributor and did water pump and pullies and electrical fans. Did 600 Kilometers on a trip with 5 litre. Awesome car. Mines white as eell
Good score love the old lanes comfy ass like sitting in a lounge chair 👍
looks mint mate. well done
Awesome video mark. Another classic saved even if it just temporarily. Some slo Mo of the sparks from cutting the springs would have been epic… but that’s just me. 😂. Well done 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
From $1500 to $5000 in one day nice job
Spray a bit of white enamel over the rust along the chassis rails and it’ll look 👌
unbelieveable 1500 bucks and turned out killa glad you changed the wheels , must be the deal of the century onya
nice, get some ceramic coating for that black trim, does wonders
Gotta love AGS springs
Looks bloody beautiful now mate! What the hell was that cannon 😆🙄 good job throwing that out the door haha 🤙💪
Just stumbled onto your channel
I’m hooked love it great video
Car looks superb have to love a v8 ,you did a great job .
looks amazing dude, looking at picking myself up an NC LTD for a project car soon
I like that model and it came up well. 👍
awesome find.
The NC is probably the best looking one since they did the P6 in about 1977…..
Bargain.
It’s no Cleveland, but it’s bloody good .
PS - i’ve been told not to use those self washing set ups because all the water is recycled and filtered, and if they don’t maintain it properly, the water turns acidic and it’s basically like washing your car in vinegar…….
Cheers mate!
The soap water is recycled but the spot free water at the end isn’t, a mate owns a car wash and I asked this exact question. So long as you since is real good, it’s fine.. and usually I’d never use the brush
AEG one way adjustables love it
You did a good job on cleaning that car up, I have always liked the NC Fairlane. She should keep it, NC Fairlanes with V8s in them are increasing in value.
good stuff mark...great to see mrs empire have a win with that car....that would be a 4 or 5 grand car in the goldcoast/brisbane area where i am....i recommended andys channel to my son and his girlfriend and they be loving it .. cheers frank
yep ,this ones a true aussie classic ,one of my all time favourite fords ,just a beautiful car
Man she cleaned up nice it's making me want to buy one of these Bad boys
Gday mate love this channel.👍 I have a BF G8 Fairlane 2006 model. Only 153 were officially built by Ford Australia. 230 kw with a modest 330 hp. 5.4 ltr. . It’s an amazing example of. My love of Fairlanes and LTDS is MASSIVE. I HAVE A P6 LTD. 351 Clevo FMX 9 inch. The Clevo is running 550 HP. But is super easy drive , however you need to be sharp on the wheel when driving her to her limits. Very cool FAIRLANE 👍👍 THE 5 ltr is such a good motor. All the FAIRLANES FROM 1995 onwards should have had that motor.? Just my opinion. 😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥
Love the Fairlane great find, looks great after a good clean and new wheels and white walls fitted. 👍
Great job there mate, Looked so much better once you had done your magic on it mate.
I have those wheels on my trailer 😂😂
I would love some of those chrome wheel flairs for my ef 👍👍
Oh and the good engine 5lt Windsor ❤
Current wheels on an old car modernise it so much
I put gxl Fairmont wheels on a 63 compact fairlane and it just lifted it so much
It came up great good job even better find you scored big time
Stark White is the army tank of paint ford used haha Nice job Mark 👌
Sweet alright I've got a NC limo good times
I love these!! And you have the higher spec LTD!!
My uncle had one of these that was silver with the alloys that had holes (for lack of better words!!!), as 10 year old it was like Rolls Royce and it is a shame these are not collectable as there are very few on road now!!
Yes most of the are slow and have that annoying fan noise but still cool in my eyes in terms of comfort and style...
Glad you took off the spoiler even if I sort of liked it but doesn't suit style of car!
Unfortunately sadly this one isn't the DC (LTD), it's just a NC fairlane with a DA rear garnish, grill and bonnet ornament.
@@palacefords That's interesting!
I thought only the LTD could have that type of grill... I'll take your word for it though!
@@icascone the ltd grill fits on fairlanes, all the way up to BFs. Ford made things simple Lego when marketing these cars back in the day. Fairlanes and LTDs were basically the same bones underneath, just a few cosmetics changed and added ie electric seats, more chrome and woodgrain. People easily make the mistake between them which is pretty easy to do as apart from the grill and badges, outside they pretty much are.
Hey Mark my brother rang me today and told me that after the last family meeting I am able to take ownership of my dads 5.0 NC Fairlane Ghia. Dad past 2yrs ago and this was his daily driver until he couldn't drive any more. Same colour and interior as you guys have but with stock wheels. I saw on your vid that the diff had a tag on the fill bolt and wondered do these come with LSD standard? Green I mean White is Nice...
Nice find bro my dad has a ford DC LTD 5.0 it’s mad as
Baby oil on a Q tip will bring up the cruise control buttons like new
Great revive mate. Looks good for a daily. Maybe remove the tow tongue if not the whole tow bar?
Looks Awesome. Great Video. When the AU is fixed what’s the plan for this one. Maybe some more mods? Love your Work. Cheers 🍻
What's the plan with the old spoiler? If you don't want it, I'll happily grab it.
Not really a fan of the DA garnish on the rear, reckon a NC one looks better, if not, the DC to keep with the LTD Badge theme
Yeah it needs the matching taillights hey!
I’m certain Andrea won’t want it mate.. where are you located?
I'll take 2 !!
its nice got your whitewall insignia still love your nf or nl fairlane nice work that boot spoiler looked like a pig good choice put it the trash
lul i thought i reconized the car wash. its next to Maccas and Red Dragon in Munno Para :)
long wheelbase ftw
Come a treat Mark and Andrea well done both of you!!!🥳🥳
Love the work you did on it mate. Always learn something new in each vid.
Good score for $1500. I’m from NZ and someone from here would definitely try and sell that for $15,000 😅
Looks Awesome good job.
Mate any idea if I need to remove engine to do a Welsh plug. We got the same car but off the road due to coolant leak from under the extractors. Yes V8.
Yeah should be able to access without removing the engine might need to remove the extractor
Black on black on black will look the winner
They are a nice looking car
Australian Cadillac
Damn!! Great price for a decent daily driver. I liked the car after just a clean up but it looks really nice after you put your touch on it 👍🇺🇸🤘🔥🔥🔥
$1500? was that with a 30-06 over your shoulder, the Fairlane looks great as it is ( washed)1st class car, great looking wheels🤠
Nice! Still trying to be a statesman 😉
Nice work absolute bargain considering it’s not actually a fair lane but even better it’s an LTD
These are a great daily. Comfy and lots of low end torque. Fuel economy is…acceptable lol
Do you have any reservations about wheel spacers?, beautiful Fairlane, that model has aged particularly well visually.
What kind of wheels are those and specs as well? Thank you!
As an old bloke that has been modifying cars since the mid 80's, and yeah an one eyed Ford bloke, I have been using wheel spacers for yearssssss, but for God sake do not use an impact gun! Do them first up by hand then use a torque wrench, and use Loctite. Impact guns can crack wheel studs, and no Loctite can cause something coming off, out of all the cars I fitted wheel spacers to only the one car had a problem, and it was when I was out of Loctite, right hand front spacer came nearly off! When I get new tires fitted I always bring my own torque wrench, get the tire place to fit the wheels, but no impact gun, I either get them to use my torque wrench or do it myself. And the Fairlane came out great!
