This group disbanded in 1994. Pretty much all the group members misfortunes were touched on in their August 2014 Unsung documentary that aired on TVOne. What happened to three (Tony Irby Neil) of the 90s member in lineup actually happened many years afterward when no longer part of music industry . By 2004 Hi-5 was reformed by the lead singer Tony Thompson🕊🐐 who was sued by three of his former bandmates after his 2005 Indy album release, over 13 years after the 90s group was dropped from there new label Giant/Records, shortly after Greatest Hits album on Jive was released.. Giant/R then signed only Tony as a solo artist, no record label would sign this group without him “their run was over” Tony Thompson died in June 2007. In 2009 Treston Irby was shot five times outside a recently opened Bridgeport, Connecticut night club… Then Russell Neil who officially left the group by 1993.. in July 2014 came into Houston, TX police station, reported the death of gf/partner (Catherine), he was charged with murder... In September 1990 right before release of debut album (Hi-Five) and first tragedy.. when original member, singer 16 y/o Toriano Easley was involved in a deadly shooting, and removed from the group. Then in August 1992 right before their 2nd album release Roderick “Pooh” Clark🕊 was severely injured in a rear-end motor vehicle crash while traveling with three group members… to a Miami radio station, this lead to his departure, in April 2022 he passed away. A brief timeline into what happened to five members of the once popular R&B NJS group “High Five” aka Hi-Five, so sad and unfortunate. 👋🏼 💙

R.I.P. for all of those who lost their life. The 90's was the year of excellent music. We danced into the 2000 with good music. Hi Five was the group that had the vocals, good looks, the dance moved that drove the young girls crazy. Missing those years.😍

RIP Tony Thompson 🌹💔 I love their songs, I Like The Way, Unconditional Love, She's Playing Hard To Get, I Can't Wait Another Minute. I knew this group had tragedies and losses before I watch this video. Thanks RRG 💜
I enjoyed this so much that I had to watch it back to back again. Russel's brother Ronald looks crazy in the face tbh. I hate so much how this group was torn apart little by little. I feel like they were really relatable guys and had a lot going for them initially. It was very easy to get into them and their music. Watching these documentaries on them be so bittersweet. They were so cute and cool! I thought they were the cutest R&B boy band of the 90s and B2k was the cutest of the 2000s. Now I've gotta go binge-listen to my favorite Hi-5 songs! ❤
Russell is just as bad as his brother. He let the mother of his children body sit in the house for days before he finally walked into a police department to turn himself in. Now he's playing mentally insane.

I watched their Unsung not long ago and it's such a sad story...so much talent and potential this group had. It's a shame things turned out the way they did...RIP to all who passed away. Thank you for making this video!
Tragic outcome. Their music will live on.
Tony Thompson died 2 soon. He had the voice that the females love. Very talented dude. Also R.I.P Roderick Pooh Clark
R.I.P. for all of those who lost their life. The 90's was the year of excellent music. We danced into the 2000 with good music. Hi Five was the group that had the vocals, good looks, the dance moved that drove the young girls crazy. Missing those years.😍
We miss those days too!
They really were the complete package!
Damn damn damn such tragedy! I loved them growing up. May the fallen members rest in everlasting peace.
💋I must have played “The Kissing Game” every day in 1990 and 1991! Until this day, I still blast it when it’s playing! The group will always be one of my favorites! ♥️
Thank you for putting the information out , I've been telling folks for years Tony was singing background to "Let's Chill" for GUY.
❤️❤️
Whoa! That's really cool that you already knew! How'd you find out if you don't mind me askng??
Yay I'm sick right now. So this is much needed. Thanks RRG. ☮️💙🖤💜🕯
These guys need a bio pic. Their story needs to be told on screen.
Yes cuz it's just too much that happened.
Are y'all talking about Therapy....or sensationalism?
They’re not all dead yet
RIP Tony Thompson 🌹💔 I love their songs, I Like The Way, Unconditional Love, She's Playing Hard To Get, I Can't Wait Another Minute. I knew this group had tragedies and losses before I watch this video. Thanks RRG 💜
Great job as always RRG👏🏽 I knew about some of it but it's still so sad to hear about the tragedies. Their talent will live on forever.
Thanks for watching ❤
@@KKelly-ng1ni I feel like he's playing mentally insane too. He knew what he was doing to stay out of prison. I think he's in something like an asylum now.
R.i.h. Tony Thompson & Roderick Pooh Clark 😞🙏🙏 Waco tx representers & legends 💙
I was such a fan of Hi Five . I remember when they first came out . I was 18 and just starting working my first grown up job right out of high school and got my first apartment . Wow can't believe all that has happened to one of my favorite R&B groups of the 90s. 🙁 so sad 😞
Thank you! I've been waiting on commentary on what happened with Hi-Five. They made some sweet songs. So sad. 😢
We hope you enjoy it!
@@rrg Yes! This is a 🎁!
Wow! Very interesting and sad at the same time. Never knew; great job as always.
Thanks for watching bestie ❤️
Tony Thompson had a BEAUTIFUL voice. Smh The group, as a whole, was great. Their songs will last forever.
Thanks for watching ❤
They are my second favorite male R&B group of the 90s H-Town is my first and it's sad that the lead singers of both the groups passed away the ones that I really love the most I just feel like Hi-five has went through so much and I just don't understand it's like they group is cursed or something smh but they will always be one of the greatest groups of all time hands down rest in peace to Tony And dino from h-town voices that are Unforgettable and that can never be replaced ❤🎶🎤🕊🙏🏽
Heyyyy RRG besties! Right on time! 💨🍃 Lorddddddd have mercy yall came with the TEA POT full of TEAAAA today! 🫖 Hi-Five losing Tony was equivalent to H-Town losing Dino. Their voices just can’t be replicated, duplicated, OR replaced. RIP to everyone. Sad story all around. 🥺💔 Great video, as per usual. 🖤✨
Hi bestie! Thank you for stopping by. You’re right, no one can replace Dino or Tony. 😞
@@rrg Always 💜 Both of their voices are literally incomparable. The 90s was a TIME! 🎤✨I wish we had more time to enjoy their talent. 😢
& the gif of Magic took me tf out 🤣🤣
Both of them were so immensely blessed! Their voices could always send a shiver down my spine, particularly Dino. Those vocals were anointed!!! I was surprised when I found out how young he was during H-Town's heyday! Sounded like a full grown 30-something year old man with how mature his voice was!
@@TheNewgreatlife ALL FACTS‼️ I still listen to Dino to this day & it’s never a time I don’t yell “whewwwww” that man had some vocals on him! One of my favorite male singers. I would love to see what he’d be doing now.
Hi- Five most definitely was being on repeat in my house 🎼🎶 although it was "bubblegum music" the ladies were wanting a "KISSING 💋GAME" so sad things turned out as they did ...They could be doing much today... Thank you RRG 💜
Glad you enjoyed it ❤
@@rrg
Yes!!! Thank you again
This is one of my absolute favorite groups! I still listen to their music often to this day. So many tragedies though 💔😔
Thanks for watching ❤
Rip to William Walton, Tony Thompson, Alice, and Roderick "Pooh" Clark!❤
#waco,tx #saluteMarcusSanders #keepitgoingON
I discovered Quality Time later in life (90s baby). The feeling of happiness I felt when I first heard it😊 My all time favorite by the group. RIP to Tony💛🌻
I discovered it later in life too. Quality Time is my jam!!!!!!!!
That’s my joint tat beat hard
U can thank r Kelly 4 quality time he wrote & produced the song 💙
This was good. I wonder what part of "lets chill" has Tony vocals on it? Rest in peace 🙏🏼 Tony and Pooh
The chorus
@@rrg 😊 thanks
The let's settle down and let's chill parts.
They need to make a movie on this group. So many tragedies.
I think Hi-Five and Debarge are neck and neck when it comes to the number of tragedies in one group.
Force MDs have entered the chat
@@brownin329 Oh word? I'll have to refresh my memory with their story
Daaang! I loved Hi-Five. I went to High School in the US back in the 90´s, they were the bomb, everyone loved ´em. I still love their music to this day (the old jams, though). That´s sad how things went down for those kids.
I'm convinced that the music industry is riddled with wickedness
I still listen to “I can’t wait another minute“ til this very day. It was my very favorite song in the 90’s. What a time to be alive.
yes quite shocked at this in-depth video! thanks again for all the thoughtful research.
Another great video. I just watched the unsung episode for them this morning.
❤️❤️❤️
Tony was so cute. I was heartbroken when he passed away.
😔😔
Who else besides me is still listening to this group in 2024? I love them so much❤❤❤
Hi Five. I really love their music. It’s very sad they have to go through this. 😡
🙏🏽🙏🏽💙🕊
It almost feels like this group was doomed from the start. So very sad & unfortunate circumstances for these men💔
Excellent video as always RRG, but you'll know I'm going to comment about that Magic Johnson meme. I did a spit take and messed up all my paperwork. LOL!!LOL!!LOL!!
😂😂😂😂
That was crazy! He seems a bit slow actually
I saw Hi-Five's Unsung...my lord.😔😞😶rest in peace Tony Thompson. I remember reading in a magazine of his passing...waay to sad. My heart broke.❤🕊🙏🏽⚘🎤🎶🎼🎵🎼💔
Hi-Five was like my generation's New Edition. Their 90s catalogue(Including Tony's solo effort, Sexsational) is still in my possession, on Cassettes.
I stream Sexsational, constantly.
I still listen to Hi 5! They are my childhood friends and the tragedy that occurred from each of them is hurtful for all of us who grew up with them! So talented! Tony been singing since he was a child receiving this blessing from his mother and father. We belong to the same Church. Yes, Tony could have been just like Usher is today! We love them all! ❤ They didn’t receive the credit as they should have! Their music still lives on! They made beautiful and meaningful music!
It's almost always a recipe for disaster when a record label starts pushing one member of a group out in front of the others.
And I thought NE had problems smh. Talented, gifted and overlooked. Seems like a dark cloud was over them constantly
Seems like it 😔
One of favorite groups from the 90’s . I had no idea Tony Thompson sang on “Let’s Chill” by Guy. Kissing Game is a classic🎼🎶🎵💕
That bit of info was brand new to me also! That's also one of my favorite songs from the 90s! I love RealRealityGossip! This channel is awesome! Be diving DEEP with the tea!!!!
Never sign a "deal" with the Devil...always ends bad
A curse over the records that back fired
Dang they went through it all!!
😢
Yep
I always followed Hi Five stories and yes I love this commentary...nailed it! I have innocent memories of the group. Happy days!
I'm very shocked to hear all about this groups tragedies, it's very sad. Prayers to the original members.🙏❤️🤗
Breaks my ❤️ to see all that talent not reach their fullest potential! I'm glad I was around to be able to hear some of the fantastic songs they made. Such a sad story for a group of men that had the potential to go all the way.
So sad. I still listen to them right now. Rest well TT.
Thanks for watching ❤
Me too!!
I Can't Wait Another Minute was my favorite! I was 12 when it came out, and I use to just listen to it over and over again and daydream.
