The Scottish terminology sounds more like the Portuguese terminology used in Brazil. :) I`m in England, but knowing the Scottish terminology, it helps with some doubts that I had when trying to understand the meaning of some of those English Law terminology, especially when comparing with other terms that can make it confusing. Thanks.
Yes, being familiar with different legal systems certainly helps! The Brazilian legal system is very unique in its own right, with lots of unique expressions and concepts. I love translating Brazilian court papers as the style, jargon and language they use is absolutely singular - it's a completely different form of Portuguese!

Could we use your Glossery for the CIOL DPSI exam in Law. You can indeed. You can use paper-based reference materials, including glossaries and dictionaries. The law exam is now a unified law option (i.e. neither English nor Scots Law - it is generic) so the glossary should be useful. Thank you for your support!
Hi joão can you do the DPSI exam if you are a UK resident and your native language is English and do you have to live in the country of your target language for a certain amount of time. The reason why I am asking about this is because as you know we have left the EU so in order to get a long term visa (1 year+) you need to prove that you have £25k or above therefor this makes it very hard compared to before where it was only £6k I believe. Thanks
The DPSI is available for candidates resident in any country (as the exam is sat online). Concerning the language pairs available, that varies from year to year - you would have to check the CIoL website each session to confirm whether your chosen language is being offered.
