Something Jack didn't mention but should have, is that this bowl is designed to catch the grease so you can easily pour it out. Putting bacon in a muffin tin will not do that. Also if you're making those things with a muffin tin where you put bacon in it and an egg in the middle, you MUST pre-cook, partially, the bacon first. At least half cooked. Otherwise the bacon will not be cooked all the way by the time the egg does.
I make 2 bacon bowls in the microwave for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, then fill them up with Valveeta shells. 6 pieces of bacons and two scoops of macaroni fills me up good! THIS is a great small lunch to have!
Hello After the results you got I would probably cut the first rasher in 3 as I think that would solve the hole problem. I still wouldn't buy one as I like crispy bacon which I find better from a frying pan. There you go a test for you. Which method cooks crispy bacon the best Andy C
You can do this with any porcelain bowl turned upside down. Also if you use sizzline bacon it will look a lot better, and not shrink up like Jack's did.
I love them. I make them with a upside down muffin pan on a cookie sheet. I make a breakfast bowl with them. Scrambled eggs cheese and grits. Or great with mini pancakes in middle. But my fav is a potato salad I make with hot sauce in it. I love to cool. It puts me in my happy place.
My daughter and I saw this advertised in a flyer today. Had never heard of this before then. I'm thinking we may try this and see what we can come up with. it looks pretty cool, and I"m always looking for something new. I've been in a cooking rut for a while now, so this will give me something new to try. Thanks for sharing this with us. Great review. Liked and subbed. :)
The local Family Dollar carries these (and the local Shopko probably does, too) in their "As Seen on TV" display. I can see where someone who's really fond of bacon might enjoy serving things in bacon bowls . . . but it seems more like a novelty item, rather than something one would use on a regular basis. Would this work with turkey bacon or vegetarian "bacon" as well? (Just mildly curious, since I don't anticipate buying one of these gadgets unless my spouse decides he'd really like to eat bacon bowls.)
a bit of critique Jack, show the recipes that came with it, ideas how to use it, such as bacon n eggs, bacon n taters, pot pie, BLT tacoes, bacon salad, what did they suggest, and how they did it? I might try a bacon pot pie with some left over beef stew, or chicken and dumplings.Their commercials cracked me up, the lady said "booowwlllll" many times. But they need Kathy Mitchell (Ready Set Go XPress) to bark this one for sure!
"Happy 50th Product Review Jack!" I enjoyed it, but not the pan. I think it's a waste of time and money. Like I said below you can make these, or bacon cups in your own muffin pans :) You can also make biscuit cups and fill them, use a small tortilla and use them as a bowl for all types of things, even ham as a bowl, etc.... So many ways and ideas for your muffin pans. P.S. I do believe the only thing you didn't like with the Perfect Meatloaf Pan was that it held in all the grease, while the regular pan released it. I didn't care for that either, but I have The Perfect Tortilla Bowl and we love it!
I'd say the product does what it advertises. The oven-baked bacon bowl looks more or less identical to the one on the package, aside from the edges, and a few holes, which are something you could adjust for, and deal with. I wouldn't use this though, simply because it would be annoying to eat the bowl too. Easier to just cook the bacon normally and have it on the side. So, aside from the novelty of it, it's not really worth it.
It looks allright I think. I mean, you really can't make bacon less desirable. It's friggin bacon. Good luck with your financial journey, chef. A man so rich with talent deserves to be as rich with money from his craft.
If it were cheap enough I'd try this, I'm a bacon hound to begin with and watching this at 3 a.m.with a slight hangover isn't making it any easier..lol..Great review Jack on your 50th presentation..
My wife and I just got ours at the dollar tree so if you are looking for the bacon bowls I would get one before they are off the shelf's ..And great review
1. Novelty Item, maybe good for special occasions. 2. Very, tiny! It looks nothing like the package in terms of size, only texture. Couldn't you just use a normal bowl and get bigger results? Heck, even a muffin tin upside down.
I was going to say that they probably used turkey bacon for the pic on the box. Its a little tougher too so it would probably the contents of the bowl better.
happy 50th product review Jack. i love bacon but i must admit i dont eat it as much. this bacon bowl is a good idea i guess, its a great review. i always enjoy ur reviews many thanks for doing them,. its a good idea with the scrambled egg in it but i prob wouldn't use it but my boyfriend prob would as he loves bacon.:)
Good review. I'm not talking bad about your review at all, only about the actual product. The product itself doesn't seem like it helps the bacon cook in any way. It just looks like something to mold the bacon while it cooks. So why not save money and just turn a muffin pan upside down? Then you have 6 or 12 bacon bowels right there. Also, I don't know when I'd ever use a bacon bowl. But I do love bacon weaves. :)
I Think Bacon Lovers Will love This Product Cuz They Can Pretty Much Use The Bacon Bowl As A Dish N Meal Without Makin A lot Of Mess Lol But I Believe It Depends On The Bacon To Get A Good Bowl.
I don't know. You will need a credit card to open the account, but the first book is free and if you don't like the service just cancel before your trial is over. let me know if the offer works overseas, please.
I love kitchen gadges, but this one I'll pass on. It's a fun idea for a party or something, but I don't think I'd use it enough to be worth the money or the storage space. Like many have said here already, there are plenty of alternatives I already have in my kitchen to form bacon bowls if I ever do want to make them (ramekins, muffin tins). Thanks for the review, Jack!
It's a nice little gimmick. I'm not sure if I'd ever use it with the exception of entertainment people at brunch, but even then what's wrong with a good old fashioned frying pan? Decent concept, yet impractical.
would do this with bread instead but why buy something with only one purpose... get a glass bowl and turn it upside down and you achieve the same results for bread and for bacon
Dear Jack, There is a "free book", and there is an "I'll need your information, before I allow you this "trial membership", that if you forget about, I will be billing you in a month's time." Your link goes to an Amazon sign-in, which goes to a "trial membership" page. No thanks, (I know in this economy every penny counts), but no thanks.
Help me celebrate my 50th product review with the PERFECT BACON BOWL! Perfect Bacon Bowl - Product Review
I had really hoped it would have made bigger bowls as I wanted to make a bacon bra. what a disappointment.
Same

Invert a muffin pan, same theory, six at a time.
Shh youre gonna run them outta business 😂
WeKnowTheTruth2012 There will always be those who want the original.
Chris Blake
They might end up even smaller, though.
bacon is essential to life
Jack you could also do the bacon bowl with the bottom of a muffin tin just turn it upside down, then Just wrap it around and bake it.
Just use a large Muffin pan. Then you can do 6 at a time.
If your cardiologist saw this, he or she would either be crying or laughing.
I love this show! It's great!
Got one at dollar tree. liked it alot. The bowl is smaller than the pics but I do like how much grease drains off the bacon.
I make 2 bacon bowls in the microwave for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, then fill them up with Valveeta shells. 6 pieces of bacons and two scoops of macaroni fills me up good! THIS is a great small lunch to have!
Please do more of these
jack first time I have watched one of your older videos. is that an original counter top?
Hello

I love jacks little joke at the beginning! Jack on the Go! Cross Promo!
Another great product review! Well done on 50 product reviews Jack! :)
They have these on sale at Dollar tree, i wanted to try it out but now i really am not sure

Good idea. You can make a lot for a holiday breakfast or brunch. Now I won't go out and buy them. Thanks
Hello Jack, i'm new to your videos; but I find these as seen on tv videos so helpful. I look forward to seeing more from you.
What is the bowl made of? It can be used in both the oven and microwave so it doesn't seem like it's made of metal...
azntranc3951 guess some kind of plastic..? It looks shiny so I don't know
Probably ceramic
What about bacon bowl cupcakes? With a cream cheese icing?
you can get the bacon bowl at the 99c store
I think a THICKER sliced bacon would be perfect....Happy 50th Product review Jack. God Bless!!!!
God bless you too Rebe.
Thiccer*
That looks pretty great. Would like to see how it goes with good, thick cut bacon.
I love your first response,,,"Mmm, bacon." :D
I just bought this for mother's day because my mom loves bacon! Just fill it with some eggs and a blueberry muffin on the side lol!

I just use a large muffin pan. I flip it over and use the bottom part. Same results.

No you can't.
ravi i was thinking thattoo

I wish they had a bigger size Jack if you ever see they make one will you please reply and tell me?
I'd put an over easy egg in that and pierce it to let the yolk drip all over the bacon! Or scrambled up some eggs and put them in there! Yummy!

Wow! Jack actually read the instructions! That's a rarity!

I would use it with turkey bacon. Doesn't shrink as much.

Damn that looks good bro nice job might consider buying this if I come across it in store.
"would you ever try this?"
Hell yes... I would eat bacon cooked around a piece of pvc pipe. Bacon is awesome!
Does anybody know what temp. he cooked it at?? I would love to know that...
He says at the start of the prep he preheated his oven to 375F

It's also to catch the grease as the bowl is cooking
Now there is a useful idea. Saves money too.
be a fun idea to put dip in for parties. or fill it with burger for the ultimate bacon burger.
I wonder if it would turn out crispier of you baked on convection? That might be something to test out!
Great video Jack, I love your show.
MUURRICAAAAAA
Can do the same think with an upside down glass custard cup!
You need to review Kibbles and Bits with Bacon next.
I personally don't like bacon but I would try this with sausage. I think an upside down muffin tin would do just as well!
I've been waiting for someone to do this
Save your money and flip a cupcake pan over.
So odd how we americans dont think.
does not work, duh
I like this thing. I think I'm gonna make a few for breakfast today and put egg salad in it lol
Try cooking the bacon a little in a pan to where it is still plyable then put it on
Cookie bowls are really popular on Pinterest. I wonder if these would work for that...
allison penney Well its not really batter, its dough and how would it not be safe??
+allison penney doesn't matter, it's food safe plastic
Run your bacon under cold water. Supposedly it makes it shrink less.
You say this is a fail but then eat it and say it tastes good lol
Oh my god. I imagine the taste of scrambled eggs in that bowl! that would be a perfect breakfast
Just get 2 plates, stick 4 slices of bacon between them, throw in the microwave, zap for 2 minutes.
YoungerBrother Wakeup No the thing is meant to be a bowl made of bacon to put stuff in. That would just be flat.
Jack just use muffin pan turned upside down or right side up. I'v been doing this now for five years.
If I had a guy's hang out and I wanted to seem cool like Epic Meal Time then sure, it'd try this. Makes for some interesting dip combo stuff.
Bacon!! I just have to finds ways to use it. But I Love Bacon!! Thank You!
Maybe the thick cut would work better?
Fun fact Jack most of the pictures advertised actually have a....filling injected into them which makes them none edible.
I would put bacon in a bacon bowl
A bacon bowl in a bacon bowl with bacon as one layer sausage as the other and egg on top
Baconception
Dr. Dolphin
One does simply not have too much bacon. Unless one gets Diabetes
confused aren'tcha?
I would buy this because it's freaking bacon!
I Think Bacon Lovers Will love This Product Cuz They Can Pretty Much Use The Bacon Bowl As A Dish N Meal Without Makin A lot Of Mess Lol But I Believe It Depends On The Bacon To Get A Good Bowl.
You could do the exact same thing with an upside-down muffin tin
or not do it at all
***** Been doing that for years...some people just sit up all night and buy this crap...Snuggie comes to mind...lol
dont u mean microwave 5:32 -5:33

LOL, "MMmm. Bacon."
All those ad pictures are paid photo editors itll be a pain to get a legit product like on the pictures
6/10 worth it if you want it. that's my opinion based on the video though.
if it were bigger it would be perfect for a burger holder
I liked it it's creative.
I love kitchen gadges, but this one I'll pass on. It's a fun idea for a party or something, but I don't think I'd use it enough to be worth the money or the storage space. Couldn't you just drape bacon over an oven-safe ceramic bowl?
Stop making sense. Why would you want to do that when you can spend 19.99 + tax on this piece of garbage?
Hell yeah I would love a bowl made of bacon. But I'm sure there's another way to make it without buying the product.
I like it yes i buy it!!
I've done it with a muffin pan upside down
It never looks like the picture, haha...
pause at 5:42 ha ga
You can find this at Dollar tree, and you guessed it, just a $1.00
would do this with bread instead but why buy something with only one purpose... get a glass bowl and turn it upside down and you achieve the same results for bread and for bacon

I love mine!!!!
I'm taking FPU right now!! Amazing financial class(:
You dont remember ....the meatloaf pan failed watch your own video......lol
Jack I'm overweight and if I eat more than 4 slices of bacon a week I notice my heart fluttering do you have a similar problem with bacon.
no. That is not normal. You should se a doctor right away.
