I've been that way with work, played Troon Lochgreen Links, and Belleisle in Ayr. Then had a special weekend away with the missus and played Turnberry - Ailsa and The Bruce Just love how well presented every course I've played in Scotland is!
Wish I'd known you were coming to Ayrshire, could've played my local which is often overlooked - Largs GC often known as Kelburn, great greens and condition year round. Great to see you review the likes of Bogside as many UA-camrs will invariably head straight to the famous courses in Ayrshire like Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry. Great content and to be applauded for keeping it "real" 👌
The Average Golfer I say in Dreghorn which is 2 miles from irvine,my mates are members of bogside I was a member of Ravenspark which you would have passed on the way to bogside, best course I’ve played is in Irvine, western Gailes I hope you played it sir
Ah, memory lane..... The first course I ever played in Scotland was Prestwick, mid 80's, with a group of Dutch friends. A grey day, drizzle, the clubhouse was a lot smaller than what I see in the video. Where the entrance is now, there was a shed where a bunch of caddies were trying to keep dry, tweed caps and all. And from outside you could see the brass handles on the windows inside. First drive: don't hit the railroad on the right! What a course. I had never played a hole like the Himalayas before, and never have later on. Great lunch in the clubhouse, and out again into the rain for another round. Many more tours through Scotland followed, always playing links courses, but Prestwick has a special place in my heart. Thank you so much for sharing this video!
I’ve not played the west coast of Scotland much simply because I live in London and given a week I’ve always been worried about the rain .............. but have played at Prestwick and it’s just superb. You can fly to Glasgow prestwick, jump in a cab and in 10 minutes you’re there. The day I played there I flew from London to Glasgow, played and flew back in the same day.
I can't put my finger on quite why - maybe is was the way you presented it Andy - but I found Bogside one the most appealing courses you've presented in this series. If I'm ever so lucky as to get to bonny Scotland for a golf tour, Bogside will be a 'must do' on the itinerary. Thanks for showing it to us :)
Doesn't matter what kind of day I had I always feel better and more relaxed after watching your vlogs. Great content and love your attitude about the game. Great music and video work. Keep up the great job and thinks for sharing your wonderful content.
Irvine Bogside what a course. Was lucky enough to play it in 1989 when a load of us was up there for The Open at Troon. It was used as one of the final qualifiers before the open. So you can imagine the condition it was in when we played there. Superb course and this video has brought back some great memories. Cheers Andy 👍
Great video Andy and I love the course! Anyone who visits Ayrshire for a wee golfing holiday should play this course and then take a ferry over to Arran and play Shiskine...12 holes of pure unadulterated fun with spectacular views. Cheers
Tremendous vid Andy. It's nice for us to just watch but you must be having a ball! Really nice too that your wife is able to be with your dad doing such a great job with the camera!
Great looking course. Lovely to see the tribute to our NHS on the Flag pole. It reminds us all, wherever we go on these islands. We have this great institution looking after us.
It looks like you’ve quit making golf videos and entered the realm of “art”. Thanks for including the culture and especially the pubs. Some of the camera angles in this presentation were really stunning and well thought out, certainly not an accident.
Nice video, Andy! I noticed you're like 25% of us who are 'under-over' players. May I suggest a tip: Come inside more on your backswing (more like Bobby Jones) and experiment with a weaker (less knuckles showing) grip....
Glad you enjoyed my home course, it’s exactly as you say a great track with fantastic true rolling greens. A hidden gem. Great video and production. Keep the videos coming.
Great accolade to golf......love your videos. There’s so many good golf courses and people in bonnie Scotland so come and enjoy...... might be a challenge though but it’s a must !!!! 👍
Played Prestwick a few years ago - thinned one shot that hit the sleepers in front of one bunker and I’m still waiting for it to come down Stunning course in top condition
Great video as always. Only 20 miles from me and a great part of the country. As always, you’re welcome to come up and give my home course a go (Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club). It’s a real test of parkland golf 🏌️♂️🏌️♂️🏴🏴
Us average golfers are not welcome at the big courses due to being priced out but they lie empty instead of dropping the prices and getting people out on the courses
@@TheAverageGolfer yes members a bet 70 pound on the website and only 30 for the darley or less for lochgreen and just as enjoyable as a hope you find out if you get time to play them if not drive buy and have a look great tracks for the prices and hopefully you get dry days ahead
Have you played golf in Ayrshire? Where did you play? Anyone been to Irvine?
Irvine no more...
Wait that's lyrics in a song

I keep saying it over and over......but......this guy makes the best golf vids on UA-cam, and is the best-kept secret as well.
I still like reading it Tom!

Andy- You must come over to Arran, in particular Shiskine Golf Club. You will absolutely love it. Love the channel. cheers Miles

I was born in Ayshire Central Hospital, Irvine but only played at Irvine Golf Club (1 mile away) 56 years later. Worth waiting for.
Andy im a huge fan love your videos.... I could not tell did you put the B21 driver in your bag?
This was filmed long before I tested the driver. I have continued to use in recent weeks and it may be a keeper
Andy great job! Enjoyed it very much
Thanks Jeff
Andy, you went and done it again. You made me long for day when I can bring my family to Scotland for a long vacation.
I hope you make that trip
Great videos, enjoying the Scottish series. You're a blessed golfer.
Hope you're still enjoying the Scotch 😃
Thank you and yes I am, I am a long lover of whisky which I doubt will change!
Played Prestwick a few years ago - thinned one shot that hit the sleepers in front of one bunker and I’m still waiting for it to come down
Stunning course in top condition
hahaha I hope to get back there soon
Have you contacted Sky TV? In my opinion these vids are of the quality that could certainly be shown by them as part of their golf coverage.
Play this course next year along side Kilmarnock brassiere and dondonald Cnt wait 👌🙌🏌️♂️
caddied the Glasgow Gails growing up, great course also western Gails
Ive played Western which is superb but not Glasgow
@@TheAverageGolfer The Glasgow Gails is more parkland as its on the otherside of the railway

What an honor to be at the place of the first British Open
What a feel that place has
Another Scottish beauty. I haven't seen a bad one yet.
