      The sound from garageband you choose comes from the laptop , so you listen to the speakers of the laptop or use headphones while playing
      If you turn piano speakers on you hear the original roland sound. But not the chosen midi sound
      But for me the midi piano sound and Roland piano sound is all piano so i often listen to the speakers of the piano. But sometimes i use headphones

    Hey man, great video, thank you! I wanted to ask you if it’s possible to play REAL-TIME different sounds than what FP-30X provides via VST into a DAW for example. I am sure there are better sounds out there than what FP-30X has available, that’s why I am looking into this. Lastly, will the audio be output from the monitors connected to the computer or do the monitors have to be connected to the FP-30X directly?

    • @vinc88
      @vinc88  Рік тому +3

      Yes if you connect your macbook to your piano with a midi cable you hear the sound real time from whatever instrument/sound you chose. But the sound comes from the laptop not from the speakers of the piano.
      Your macbook only has to be connected to your piano with a midi cable.

    How do you use the music recorded on midi over a video you take of you playing the piano. Would you just record yourself playing whilst recording audio through midi then edit the audio over the sound irl ?

    • @Bvic3
      @Bvic3 Місяць тому

      Yes. You record with a smartphone.
      In the video editing software you then align the smartphone mic audio and the MIDI rendered audio. Then you mute the microphone audio.
      It's fairly quick and easy.
      Once I went berzerk with OBS studio, manually configuring the delay between a webcam video and jack piano audio output. Too much effort, unless you want to actually stream.
      Making a video and recording a perfectly played piece requires so much more work that spending 10 minutes to manually change the audio track in the editing software isn't much of an issue.

      @artiemixx9319 Рік тому

      Yes. You need an Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Buy the Apple at $39, not the knock off brands for much less. You will also need a USB A to B cable to connect the Adapter to your piano. The cable is the same, or similar, to the one commonly used to connect your printer; prices range from $5 to $1,000. I would recommend something under $25. Check your specs to determine whether you need a 2.0 or 3.0 cable. I have a 9th generation iPad which requires a 2.0 cable. Cable lengths vary; buy the shortest length available that easily connects the two devices.

    I’m having a hard time with GarageBand not recognizing my Yamaha ypg-535 piano. I have the toggle that converts the usb into C port since Mac changed their charging port again! 😠 Ive tried using my Cubase software and hooking it up via the larger cords (for guitars and pianos) and that used to work on my old Mac and is how I used to record. And ive tried direct usb to host with the toggle connector and it isn’t registering at all. :(
