In this video, I'll show you multiple ways in which to use the app, Garageband, on the iPad. Using this app, you can get fairly decent quality recordings directly from your digital piano. You will need a midi or USB cable and Apple camera connector to plug your piano to your iPad.
Watch the video for a quick and simple demonstration, and you'll be on your way to recording in no time!

Presumably, when you click on 'Song', a menu will appear telling me where I can export to….email, Dropbox, Save to Files, etc. you only mentioned, ………."send to someone else." Is that the only option, or can I save the song too? Very clear video though - a complete lack of annoying background music was a bonus! I shall wait patiently for an answer to my question.

I am sure there are better sounds out there than what FP-30X has available, that’s why I am looking into this. Lastly, will the audio be output from the monitors connected to the computer or do the monitors have to be connected to the FP-30X directly?

As long as it has midi output (normally a USB slot these days) it should be fine. Garageband will create notation but it will not be pretty. You need human editing for that.

Connecting a digital keyboard to a computer/phone/pad via the MIDI port only transmits/receives the MIDI data, you have to assign the incoming MIDI data to an instrument in your DAW (GarageBand, Cakewalk, Ableton, etc). The instrument you select on your keyboard will have zero affect as to what is played in your DAW. If you do not assign the MIDI to an instrument you will hear nothing.
