Strong Cold Front Brings Fall Weather to Texas Tomorrow!

- One more day of record-high temperatures as a strong cold front moves through Texas today! A cold front will move south through most of Texas today and tonight, bringing gusty north winds and a noticeable temperature drop over the coming days.
While high temperatures will remain in the 90s for most of Texas today, we’re looking at a twenty to thirty-degree drop tomorrow for most folks! The season's first freeze may occur tonight in the northeastern Texas Panhandle. We’re looking at 31 degrees for Perryton and 33 degrees in Canadian. Amarillo will drop down to 39 degrees. Thursday morning, we will see the northern half of Texas drop into the upper 30s and 40s, though we’re not expecting any widespread freezing temperatures. The southern third of Texas will fall into the 50s and 60s.
High temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will be in the 60s and 70s, with a few 80s across Texas. We’ll begin a slow warmup on Friday and Saturday, with 70s and 80s across the state.
A few thunderstorms are possible Wednesday morning and afternoon as the cold front moves south across the Rio Grande Valley, Lower Texas Gulf Coast, and Deep South Texas. Locally heavy rain and gusty winds can’t be ruled out. Our next chance for more widespread precipitation will arrive on Saturday and Sunday across the Texas Panhandle and West Texas.
Unfortunately, a continuation of dry weather and flash drought will continue across most of Texas through early next week.
The danger of wildfires is now high to very high - and initial attack activity has significantly increased over the last week. We may begin to see larger fires as the arriving cold front brings an acrid airmass with flash-drought-impacted fuels across Texas.

Texas has 3 seasons - 3 months of winter - 6 WEEKS of fall / spring and the rest is "fry a egg on the hood of your car " SUMMER ....
6 months of summer/ 1 month of fall/ 3months of winter/ 2 months of spring
summer 9 months then a mix of spring summer fall winter for 3
Depends on what part of State you're in. In Southeast Texas we get 9 months of summer, and 3 months of not so bad.

Grew up 70 miles Southeast of Dallas in the 60s and 70s (feeding cows during what we used to call "Winter") Temps regularly in the 20s for two or three or four months. Now, I refer to it as the "cooler season." ❄️ 🐮 ❄️

Usually along the coast I rarely see more than a couple of weeks of fall weather. It goes from egg frying to freezing cold wind. Oh yeah, and COLD rain.

As long as our power doesn't go out (which here in the Houston area it seems to be going out a lot more often than it should be), I'd rather have warmer outside weather and use the a/c than to have cold weather and have to use the heater. I always get a stuffy nose when we first start having to use the heater, until I am more used to it. Plus the fact that I plain just don't like cold weather. Guess maybe that comes from living in the Houston area all my life.
Not to mention, it’s more expensive to run the heat😢😢😢.

@Sheryl777 I can't stand cold weather and I'm not even in Texas, I'm stuck all the way up in NJ and I'm just some Canadian lmao. Born in a province that reaches -40F most winters too, doesn't make sense then again everyone prior to my canadian end came from Texas and much of the south.
