I have one I love it. I got backhoe, brush hog, bucket with tractor that coss less that most brand names with just a bucket. Its powerful and strong. My only complaint is the air filter screen. I wish it pulled out for easing cleaning. Trust me I can live with that lol I keep a rag and whip off what I can till I take it home to air blow clean
Thanks for the awesome review! I just ordered an RK25 from the Sweetwater, TN Rural King. They said the wait now is 16 weeks, but it will be worth the wait!
I'm really glad that the video was helpful! I can only imagine it's difficult right now to order one without seeing it in person or having a chance to start it and drive it on the lot. I was hoping these videos about the RK25, RK37, and RK55 would be useful to people searching for a tractor in those sizes. Typically, a few hundred people watch this particular video each day. Please keep us all posted in the comments about your wait and what you think about the RK25 when you receive it. Thanks!
@@connorpenrod397 Ended up not getting one. When Rural King said it came in, I made an appointment to pick it up. I took off the day from work, and drove almost 2 hours with a borrowed trailer to pick it up. When I got there, they had not even started the prep and told me I had to come back when they were done. Was not entirely impressed with the quality of the build either, so I left and ended up purchasing a Branson 2500h from a local dealer in Rome, GA.
I was watching this and at the 14:50 mark you mentioned Northwest Pennsylvania, then I looked down over the hill at the Giant Eagle and realized that this was the Rural King in Franklin. That was pretty interesting. I'm going to order the RK25 soon and was watching videos on them. Looks like a good deal to me for all the features.
I agree - the RK25 is a nice machine! They're continuing to be very popular because of the long warranty, the included features, and the capabilities. If you get one, please mention that you saw a video about it on Purple Collar Life. Thanks!
@@PurpleCollarLife Will do. One question I have. Has there been any feedback yet on the R 14 tires in the snow since this video was made? One of the big reasons I am going to buy this tractor is to plow my driveway in the winter. Would rather have the R 14's so that they don't tear up my yard as badly in the summer as compared to what the R 1's would.
Got my RK25 a few months ago and am really happy with it , You cant order more options for them they already come fully loaded , If your in the market for a compact dont overlook the RK line up .
Thanks for commenting! I totally agree. I think some people overlook the RK brand, and it's certainly worth consideration. I like that they include all the features as standard. Keep us updated on your experiences with the RK25!
Thanks! I appreciate you letting us know the video was helpful. I'm really impressed with the RK tractors. How far are you from a Rural King? If you have any questions we didn't answer, feel free to ask in the comments. I check them daily, and the Rural King group take a look at them too. And certainly - if you buy one, we'd appreciate you mentioning us! Thanks!
Hey! I know that RK. Was so happy when it went in where the old Kmart was. Been eyeing up these tractors figured I would see what UA-cam videos I could find to my surprise it’s the local RK!!
Great Video review of the RK25. Two years ago, I purchased an RK37, Hst and a cab. I have been very happy with it so far! What many items manufactures have listed as options, all came standard on the RK37.
Tom - thanks for watching and the compliment! It was not only a lot of fun doing these videos, but also very impressive what the RK tractors offer. I had never seen the RK25 before, and it certainly didn't disappoint. I wish I would have had an opportunity to test drive the RK37 - but it seems like they can't keep them in stock. Sold before they even hit the ground. You're certainly right about all the included features. I think that the RK tractors will be a successful brand.
@@PurpleCollarLife Picked up my 37 shuttle shift in May of 2021. Very pleased with the unit. Almost time for my 50 hour service and the addition of a 3rd function.
Ive had the rk24 for 2 yrs. 193 hrs with only minor fitting replacement. 3rd function and grapple are amazing. Lifting capacity is about 1150 lbs. Thinking of buying a rk37 in the future. Did not come with ballast.
Great lifting capacity! That's strange that I didn't come with ballast. Are you talking about the RimGuard filled tires? I thought all the RK tractors had that.
Loved your show @ Rual King one thing I would like to have seen was the Backhoe being detached and the mower deck installed...the price with these tractors are very nice....Thanks for the show
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I think on these RK25 machines (you'll need to check with your local Rural King) - you have to choose either the backhoe option, or the mid-mount mower. I think something about the subframe for the backhoe eliminates the ability to use a mid-mount mower on these particular tractors. Again, I'm not 100% positive that is still the case in 2022/2023 models - so check with your local RK dealer. I absolutely agree that the value and capability of these RK25 model machines is very impressive. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for watching! The Rural King store is great! Not only all these great RK tractors and implements, but lots of great clothing, tools, and supplies for rural living.
It is nice to have the Rural King in Franklin. It's just far enough away from us that we're not there spending money every day. But it's close enough to travel there when we do need something.
Very nice tractors! Unfortunately, no RK stores near me, but I assume these tractors can be ordered online. One thing I noticed was the three point hitch moves with the belly mount mower. If you're running a bush hog (or other implement) you'll have to remove the belly mower so it won't drag the ground when you're using the 3 point hitch. Otherwise, that's just resistance the tractor has to overcome. Otherwise, I think they're very nice! Thanks for sharing! 🚜
I'm not sure if they can be ordered online. Great question. The three point hitch does lift the belly mower (just like with my John Deere 2210). I'm wondering though if the belly mower can remain in the upright position. I can lock the mid-mount mower in the up position on my JD and then it just stays raised while the 3 point arms go up and down. Thanks for watching!
There is some great information in this video a couple weeks ago I bought an rk25 with backhoe I thought with auto throttle you did not have to throttle up using the backhoe your technician says otherwise it is also my understanding if you get the backhoe you cannot get a belly mower
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you like the video. I think we captured lots of great info. You're correct that the throttle does not auto-throttle up for backhoe operation, so you'll want to increase your RPMs before starting using the backhoe. And I believe that's true that if you choose the backhoe setup, the mid-mount mower can not be used. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment!
Really wish someone would open a RK Store in SC near Charleston,,our local dealers are more big tractors for farmers and not so much for small farms and homesites where a compact would be perfect
The Rural King stores are certainly nice to have around. It's great to get good work clothing from Ariat, boots, hats, gloves, Stihl chainsaws, blowers, and supplies. Lots of stuff for all your outdoor needs. It's a great store.
Thank you! I haven't seen a RK25 at the stores in our area for a long time. Did you have to order yours - or is there one on the lot at your local Rural King?
John and Meg on the "walnuts and wineberries" channels have a 25 HP RK, and they treat it rough. It's amazing how rugged that tractor is digging rocks and hauling logs.
They really do! I've watched their channel. The tractor does a great job. I'd have trouble using a sub-compact tractor for some of those tasks. I'm often afraid I'll break machinery by really pushing it.
Chad you did a great job here. You surely spent a lot of time on this video. I think the big guys may have to step up their game to compete with these tractors. Many nice options included.
Thanks, Ed. I appreciate that you noticed the effort put into the video. It was likely the most editing, synchronizing, and time I've invested in any video yet. I'm really hopeful that it helps out people as they search for the right tractor for them. And you're absolutely right about the big guys - they'd better step up because I'd be highly inclined to choose one of these RK Tractors. I don't think name alone will do it anymore. There are too many educated buyers and these "off brand" tractors are reliable, loaded, and innovative.
Decent video, but I would have really liked to see how easily implements such as the backhoe and mower deck are removed and installed onto the tractor. The bucket looked easy enough, but what about other more involved pieces?
Thanks! Believe me, there were plenty of times off camera, or that I edited out, where I'm moving from one to another, checking out this and that. There were several times where I forgot to move the GoPro, or left a camera recording over at a tractor I wasn't even on until the battery was dead. I could spend many more weekends at Rural King looking at and playing on the RK tractors. What they need next is a dirt field somewhere to try out the box blade, land plane, etc! There's already plenty of pallets there to try out the forks.
Good video, you covered some very important stuff. I like all the extrasthat comes standard with these tractors and no additional costs. Awesome tractors.
Great point! All the extra stuff is additional cost with pretty much every other brand. I'd consider these RK tractors "loaded up" from the factory. Great machines.
I really enjoyed this video and am looking forward to the rest of Tractor Week! I know the videos you've made are all ready to release but did you ask Chris about the ability to get parts in this ever changing economy we now have to deal with? Is Rural King stocking up as much as possible?
Thanks! Stay tuned. The next video will be out tomorrow or Wednesday (depending on how much longer it takes me to edit them and get them uploaded!). I did talk to Chris - he's not having any issues with getting parts. He mentioned that the biggest hold up right now is actually the tires. They have fully assembled tractors ready to go - just missing the tires (and Rim Guard once the tire is mounted). As far as filters, oil, and normal wear items - they are still getting them in 2-3 days.
@@PurpleCollarLife Thanks for the reply! I noticed when you asked about different sized tires Chris talked about about the fully assembled tractors at the factory. That was a red flag about individual tire sales. Not to get political but, it's too bad we all let all our manufacturing go without a real fight...
Chad, that was an outstanding review. It has several features that I like. The phone charging options, lighting set up, separate back hoe seat and perhaps the auto throttle. I say perhaps because I am not clear on its response triggering. Here are my questions… does engagement of the rear PTO auto-throttle to the 540RPM required for running a cutter? Or is it controlled by the forward speed pedal? Is there an override? Here’s why… if you are doing slow forward movement you may need different PTO speeds. For example if you are brush hogging you have to slowdown the forward motion to maneuver… but you still want that 540RPM. On the other hand, if you are tilling soil you want much lower RPM’s and will vary your forward speeds a lot. Having the RPM’s constant is important for the tiller and can’t be tied to travel speed. As I said, nice job presenting that tractor.
Thanks for watching and the compliments! I'm really impressed with all the features too - and you can't beat the Yanmar engine. The engagement of the PTO requires you to use the actual throttle lever to adjust to 540 RPM. If you're running any equipment that requires the 540 speed (or 2000 mid-mount mower speed), you use the throttle lever and adjust accordingly. During those times, you wouldn't use the Auto-Throttle. Great question - thanks for letting me clarify.
Très belle vidéo Très beau tracteur Doit être très agréable à conduire Dommage qu'il n'y en ait pas en France. J'aimerais bien l'essayer Merci pour cette vidéo
Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting from France! We are very happy to ave the Rural King store and the RK tractors here. Maybe some day they'll be available in France. It was certainly fun to drive and try all these tractors. -Chad
Thanks, Gary! Me either. I could tractor shop every night and weekend (if I didn't have so much other work to do!). Appreciate you watching and commenting!
You and me both! The RK25 became a popular model really fast. I think it’s because it’s good competition for the John Deere and Kubota home owner sized sub-compact tractors.
Glad you enjoyed it! The RK25 seems to be a very popular tractor. I think the size and weight of it are right in that sweet spot that many property owners are looking for.
Thank you! It is a beautiful tractor with great features. You're right - no Rural King stores in France yet. Maybe someday! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very nice video Chad - I agree with your assessment of turf tires in snow - I have not tried R4 tires on snow, but I have used both Ag tires and turf tires on snow. I look forward to seeing your tractor week videos. The RK25 looks like a very good value for your money and with a Yanmar engine, I believe performance and reliability will be outstanding - time will tell - cheers
Thanks for watching. Before I owned my tractor, I thought the R4 would likely be good in snow. I was wrong. I do think these R14 would be nice in the snow. They're more of a radial look/feel and I like the combination of tread styles in one tire. I was more than impressed with the RK25. The Yanmar engine sounds and runs great. I was also surprised (you'll see in the next video) - that even the RK37 and the RK55 have a Yanmar engine! Prior to getting so much seat time on the RK brand tractors, I wasn't entirely 100% sold on them. Now - no hesitation!
@@PurpleCollarLife - check out video #64 from my channel - I run a turf tire with terra grips for plowing - I really like them - they are rubber chains - if you have concrete or asphalt driveway this is the ticket - of course they work on stone drives also. I have Ag tires on the front, but bought a pair of chans for the front just in case - have not needed the chains yet. I can't say I needed the rubber chains, but the increase in traction is night and day. have a great day Chad
Damn good looking tractor! Do they come with gear drive? I live in Georgia, I don’t think there are any RK stores down here. That might be the dealbreaker unfortunately.
That's a shame - but I'm seeing the same type of lead times on other brands in the same size range. Do you follow the RK forums? I think I've seen some people commenting that there are a few RK25s available on the lot in some Rural King store locations.
I bought the rk25 with the backhoe. I really like it and have run bigger backhoes before. One question…my backhoe seems to over swing to left or right and gets caught in the furthermost position either way. I have to bump back and forth to get it to return to operating position. Is there an adjustment to limit max swing? Thank you
@@PurpleCollarLife hey Chad! The tymT25/ RK25, has a Slightly longer wheelbase to be able to use full size tires with mid mount mower, wireless charging, suspension seat, optional Bluetooth speakers and factory lights/ROPS, and electronic dash panel are the biggest differences.
Very good review. I am selling my BX and was looking to upgrade size and power. RK I’ve heard a lot about but never see them here and in eastern Pa. I think it’s worth a road trip west !!! Wagons west boys......
Glad I could help! I still think the RK25 is a terrific value. But I think they may be hard to find right now. Our local store hasn't had one in a while. They are able to get them for customers when the customers place an order - but there haven't been any extra stock for the store to have on display. If you end up getting a RK machine, we'd appreciate if you mentioned our channel. Thanks!
Good video Chad, lots of great info. At 22:30 it sounded like all that is required to attach a MM Mower Deck is to drop the backhoe off the back. I thought you had to remove the subframe to attach a deck but as I think about it I don't suppose you...
Honestly - I'm not quite sure. I didn't look that closely at the subframe, since there was one with the backhoe and one with the MMM. I'll find out and get back to you. Thanks for watching and bringing up a good question!
I mentioned this in another comment but they removed my mid PTO as well due to having the backhoe so I doubt you can use the MM mowing deck if you order with the backhoe at least for the RK 25. I like my 25 though just something to think about if your banking on the mid PTO.
Glen - have fun in Tionesta! Headed to the lake? When you stop at Rural King - make sure you tell Chris and the others that you watch Purple Collar Life on UA-cam. Thanks!
@@PurpleCollarLife got a camp in west hickory, got to close it up for winter, my brother and son in law always stop there on their way up. Definitely will tell them about you and chris
Excellent question, Bob. I think that there may be some RK canopies available in the future. Someone else reading this may know that answer. In the meantime, I know that Curtis Cabs makes the Advantage Series Universal Canopy. I've seen it mounted on many brands. The Mahindra also has a unique angle to the top section of the ROPS, and I've seen this canopy on that tractor. So I'm wondering if it would work on this RK? That's certainly a great question.
Great video, I do have one issue. I'm sure no permission will be given to get one unless the two tractors I have would be gone first. Good information on this unit, looks like a really nice unit.
Hi. Just watched your video on the RK25, great job, very informative. I understand that the RK25 is offering a factory cab for this model heat, no Air. Are you aware of this and do you have any info on this like price, and can you remove the doors on this Cab. Oh, I grew up on a farm in Warren Pa,. I believe just northeast of you. Thanks alot Take Care
Hi Bob. Thanks for watching the video. You're correct. The RK25 does have an available cab. The cab does have heat only. I've never seen it, and I'm not sure about if the doors come off. I do know that the doors coming off of the Curtis Cab I have on my John Deere is a necessity without air conditioning. It gets pretty hot in the summer. As far as pricing, I'm not sure. I've never seen literature on the cab option.
Would you mind clarifying, is there no mower option if you have one that is backhoe capable due to the framing underneath for the backhoe, or can you remove the backhoe and install the mower deck afterwards? Thanks!
I'm probably going to buy one of these. The only question that was not answered was regarding the mobile technician. How far will they travel? My nearest dealer is 200 miles away.
@@PurpleCollarLife I called today and never got to the question! lol The guy I talked to said he could sell 20 of them a day if he could get them. I put my name on a list and he is hoping for December! I'd drive farther to get one. I'm in Kansas City Missouri. You just cat buy ANY tractor for the money. The comparable MF is $20 and the Kiote is $19k. 4 to 5 thousand more. Plus I am a huge Yanmar fan. I have a 1984 John Deere 430 Diesel that I restored and it does some amazing things!
No problem 👍 It's a great tractor. I think it's a nice step up from the RK24. Please be sure to mention Purple Collar Life if you purchase a machine from Rural King. Thanks!
@@ocd7036 Obviously it would be nice to be closer to the store, but I don't think I'd worry about a 3 hour trip to the Rural King store. From what I can see, and what I've heard talking to other RK tractor owners - they're reliable and Rural King does a great job standing behind the tractors.
Sorry to hear that. Chris is a great guy at our local Rural King. He really knows the RK tractor line, as well as the implements, trailers, and inside equipment (I talked with him about the Stihl BR800X before I purchased it there.) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow, you get alot of bang for your buck. The only thing I'm curious about it how far that backhoe hangs out from the tractor. I see the subframe but it looks back heavy. At 17:15 you can see almost half of the tractor is behind the rear tires. 😳
It certainly is a good value for the amount of features you get (normally cost extra from other tractor manufacturers). As far as the subframe - I didn't notice it feeling any different. When I was on it, it felt balanced. Thanks for watching!
On the RK 25...Can you lock the mower deck in the up position and use a 3pt hitch tiller at the same time? Or do you have to remove the mower deck? I talked to a dealer and he said you had to remove the deck. My next question is ...does the backhoe receiver bracket on the tractor have to be removed to install the mid mount mower? Is it a drive over deck?
Excellent question. I'm not sure about the answer. I can tell you than on my John Deere machine, I can lock the mower deck in the up position, and then the 3-point hitch can be used up and down without the deck moving with it. I do know that you can't have the backhoe on the tractor with the mid-mount mower. I think there is a conflict between the two.
@@PurpleCollarLife I found out that due to backhoe receiver frame, the mid mount mower cannot be used at all. It is an either or situation on the Rk25. A total bummer. The Yanmar you can. The RK height of loader lift is superior to most tractors which is a good selling point. I guess I’m going with RK 25 and a finish mower. Any suggestions on best finish mower with 18hp pto? Would like to mow lawn quality 5’ wide.
@@Antique803 I thought it might be an either/or situation. I am not sure about a 3 point finish mower in the 5 foot size specifically - but I've had really good luck with a King Kutter finish mower (6') behind our Ford 8N. I've also heard really good things about the Woods brand finish mowers.
It makes me sick thinking how much I paid for a jd 1025r when I could've gotten a much better machine for less money. The RK25 came out a few months after my purchase.
Thanks for watching! One thing yet to be seen is how the RK machines hold their value. That John Deere 1025R is probably still worth a lot of money to an individual or a dealership. I've heard that most dealerships will not take the RK machines in on trade.
If/when something breaks, and it eventually will for any and all tractors, it will probably be a lot easier/quicker to get parts for that John Deere vs brands such as this - especially years in the future.
At the time of the video, there was no cab available for the RK25. I do think they've started offering an option to add a cab on (not sure if it's aftermarket). But I'm pretty sure I heard that those add-on cabs do not have air conditioning - just heat.
@@PurpleCollarLife not sure I’ll do that but definitely going to run up and talk to them the rk55 is due for the 50 hour service and the other rk store I’ve been going to has been 3 months waiting on them to call me and say they got the parts ready for me to pick up so I could do it
Good evening mon ami 😉👍 You have made an OUTSTANDING review RK tractor 👍😉 The RK 21H is almost the same as me ( Mahindra 20s HST ) 😉👍 Can't wait to see your next tractor week video Sir 🧐👍Cheers 🍻
The salesman says it comes with beet juice tire guard, but the RK website doesn't confirm this. The website says only the larger size tractors come with this. Any idea if this is an oversight o. The website or if the salesman was mistaken?
I'm not sure about the sizes smaller than the RK24, but I can tell you that the RK24, the RK25, the RK37, and the RK55 all have stickers on the wheels, beside the valve stem, that say that they've been filled with Rim Guard.
If you ordered the RK25 without the mid-mount mower, I think you can still add the backhoe. You'd need to confirm that with an RK salesmen - but I believe it's possible.
I’ve heard that from a few people who contacted me via email. I can tell you that Chris, at the location in this video (Franklin, PA) did a great job! It’s a shame that you had a different experience with the RK salesman at the Hanover store. Was it the tractor specialist from that location?
Hi Mark - according to the literature, the RK25 can lift 1,380 lbs to the full height, at the pivot pin. Full lift height is 87" high. Just for reference, the John Deere 1025R lift capacity to full height is 754 lbs, and the Kubota BX23 lift capacity to full height is 613 lbs. Great question - and certainly a great feature of the RK25 is it's lift capacity. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@PurpleCollarLife Thank you. Was hoping you would pick up a pallet at the store like you did with the RK37. I am wanting to make sure it will pick up a big bale of hay. Thanks again
Yes- In my opinion, the RK25 is more of a sub-compact tractor, while the RK24 is like a large garden tractor. Here is the RK24 web page from Rural King: www.rktractors.com/products-tractors-rk24h-rk-tractors.php Here is the RK25 web page from Rural King: www.rktractors.com/products-tractors-rk25-series-rk-tractors.php Here's the brochure: www.rktractors.com/pdf/brochures/2020-Tractor-Brochure-low-res.pdf
I do wish RK would follow along with JD and Kubota and have a 25 pto hp version of the RK25 like the 2032R/2038R and LX3310. The higher hp allows better PTO power for 60” implements cutters. 48” cutters are just too narrow for the wider stance.
Hi Brandon - I think in order to make 25 PTO horsepower, the RK25 would actually have to be a larger engine hp, which would make it be over that 26 hp threshold that requires the extra emissions system. As it is, it's more in line with the Kubota L2601, the Kioti CK2610, and other tractors with these slightly larger frames, but HP under 26. I do agree that these are not powerful enough to run the 60" PTO implements (brush hog, finish mower, rototiller). I think if you really need the 60" capability, I'd stick with the RK37. Thanks for watching and commenting. I think this is a great discussion point.
@@PurpleCollarLife , it’s not that I need 60” implements. It’s that 48” implements don’t cover the width of the tractor, so you’re always running over the uncut grass, or ground you’ve already tilled. I love the size of the RK25, but the 54” width is awkward for PTO driven implements.
@@brandonmacklenar1484 John Deere does the same thing. What kind of PTO HP do you think the John Deere 1025R has? You're comparing two different size tractors. I have a Kioti CX2510. I run a 5 foot tiller behind it. I also use a 5 foot finish mower behind it. I believe you can get 54 inch tillers also.
I myself was looking to buy a rk25 with backhoe, to be honest I tried once but was denied; so one of my brother decided to help me get one . But when we went to buy one , at our local rule king ( in Elyria Ohio ) and I bet others location have one main problem that doesn’t work nor help in there sales. When we went to buy one that was in stock. No one was their to sell it. I was disappointed, and upset that no one was their to talk to us, show us, and buy one . Yes, their was employees that was helpful and friendly but no salesperson? I waited an hour for someone, by them I was extremely upset, disappointed and told the front desk I be back . The closer I got to out car the more disgusted I was. How do you expect to sell a product if their no one to sell it . This is my only gripe I have with RK . So if you please show this to them , maybe by next year we would have a better result. Well if we but a different brand.
That would be very disappointing. I can't speak for the Elyria, Ohio location - but at this RK, they're quickly able to get you to someone who knows about these tractors. They even have an office area they've made JUST for tractor sales. It's really a nice system at this Rural King. I typically do call ahead and make sure that Chris is there before I stop in to talk tractors. But you're right that it's not like a car sales lot, where someone is likely to see you looking around at a tractor and come out to sell. I can see that as both good and bad. Did you ever end up getting the RK25? Were there other brands/models you were looking at? I'd enjoy hearing about your tractor search.
If I recall, people on the RK tractor forums have said the backhoe is not difficult to remove, and then using the 3 point hitch is easy for other implements.
It is indeed! That's our favorite Rural King store! Chris is a pleasure to deal with - really knows those tractors and implements. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If there is no Rural King that sells and repairs tractors in your town, Stay away from Rk tractors.. I wish I knew this two years ago. On the same note. I took mine to Lake Wells for hydraulic leak repair from the rubber suction hose. Mechanic didn't change the $10 hose, he put sort glue-paste and charged me over $300 and that didn't last a month. I live far from that store and it is not feasible to go back and forth. Since my RK25 has the TYM25 parts. Amazon is your best bet for parts.
Hi Jerry. Yes, the RK25 is 4 wheel drive. It is an amazing machine. I’ve been looking at tractors for several years now, and REALLY researching them for about a year. After having driven the RK25, it’s certainly in the running for my future tractor purchase. I think it’s a great value, giving you the most tractor for the money.
@@PurpleCollarLife I've been looking around for close to a year. Been scared to pull the trigger. I want RK25 w/ loader and backhoe. And I thought I was going to do the k-4s. I think I'm going to try the new r14. I changed my mind on tires, because of your video
It's a nice area for sure. I've traveled a lot for work to other areas of the country. Cities have some nice advantages (good food, sporting events) - but I wouldn't want to live in the city. I prefer our rural PA living.
These "These Tractor Stores" could make a Ton-of-money offering "Test Drives" for 25.oo$ at a crack. "Tractor-itis" has sure took a hold of the Public. Wheelburo & hand shovel sales are WAY DOWN. "Just sign here Sir & she's all yours". I have been making "ORANGE payments" for 4 1/2 years & it pains me do so. The "Novelty" wears off by the second or third payment. All this "FUN & GOT TO HAVE-ER" costs about 50.oo$ an hour for Loaner-ship. Happy safe tractoring. But "Can it do Wheelies"?
Hi Donald - I imagine they already get a lot of tire kickers, but it would be interesting to see if they charged for test drives, what the results would be. I know I certainly would find it worthwhile. I don't think there is any substitute for some actual seat time when considering a tractor purchase. Thanks for watching!
$23,700 for RK25H w/backhoe & 60" mower deck. You can get a John Deere 1025r w/backhoe & mower deck or a Kubota BX23S for about the same. I'd choose the Deere or Kubota.
Hi Jason - Maybe I'm not figuring it right, but when I do the build-and-price on John Deere's website, for a 1025R with loader, backhoe and mower deck, and adding the work lights and radio - I get $27,613. And it doesn't let me choose R14 tires - plus it's a smaller frame and tire size. You know I'm a big John Deere fan, but I like the frame size and tire size of the RK25 better than the 1025R. Plus - the RK still has the Yanmar engine, and an 8 year warranty, plus loaded tires, all all the bells and whistles. I'd say you can't go wrong with either machine. It's really personal preference after doing research and driving all the brands. I will say that I continue to be more and more impressed with the RK and Kioti brands.
@@PurpleCollarLife it's not a whole lot more for JD or Kubota. And everybody has one of those dealers in their backyard. A RK could limit your audience. They don't have any stores out west (Pacific & Mountain time zones) & only a few in the midwest (MO). But if you can work a good deal out with RK then that's the way to go.
Just wanted to mention it for anyone considering it. You can't get the RK25 w/backhoe along with the mowing deck (or mid pro for that matter). I got it with the backhoe and learned about the mid pto delete on delivery. They told me the deck wouldn't work right now because they were still working out the mounting due to the backhoe sub frame being in the way. I figured I'd get the mid mount deck later once they figured it out but they removed the mid pto as well so I'll have to figure that out as well if I go that route. Likely I'll just get a 3pt mow deck due to it all. Just wanted to throw it out there so your not surprised like I was. Like my RK 25 though just something to think about if the mid PTO is something you need.
Man wish I had the money to buy one of these RK24 tractors with that loader and backhoe.. That would be nice .. Thanks JoeO'Biden and Congress for robbing our money..

Comparing RK25 with JD or Kubota BX is not fair. RK25 is basically small compact tractor equivalent to JD2025 or Kubota B2601 . As a weight fits more into size bigger like JD2032 or Kubota LX2610.
Hi Jacuzzi7 - I can see your point here. I'll need to take a look at the specs to compare the RK25 to the larger John Deere 2032 and 2025, as well as the Kubota B2601 and LX2610. In addition to loader capacity, weight, included features, and other specs, I wonder how the price of the RK25 compares to these John Deere and Kubota models. Any idea?
@@PurpleCollarLife I wonder if the RK25 is a comparable size to the Kioti CX2510? The CX2510 is bigger than the subcompact tractors like the Kioti CS2510 or John Deere 1025R but smaller than tractors like the Kioti CK2610. I haven't been to the Rural King stores in a while so I haven't had a chance to see it.
Actually, I plan on purchasing one of these tractors and it is because of Bidenomics that made me money from my Stock investments on my 401k IRA retirement account

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. The RK25 certainly impressed me during the test drive and when I was doing tractor research.
Thanks!
That's the Rural King near me! How's the service been?
Thanks!

Will do.
Outstanding..I’ve been interested in the RK25 but don’t have a dealer near me.So seeing options and pricing has been great.
Thanks! I appreciate you letting us know the video was helpful. I'm really impressed with the RK tractors. How far are you from a Rural King? And certainly - if you buy one, we'd appreciate you mentioning us! Thanks!
Hey! I know that RK. Was so happy when it went in where the old Kmart was. Been eyeing up these tractors figured I would see what UA-cam videos I could find to my surprise it’s the local RK!!
Thanks 👍. I was thrilled too when they announced that Rural King was going to go into the old K-Mart. It's a fun store to visit!

No ballast in rk 24. 37 and up at that time

I've ordered mine back in March and am still waiting on it to come in. Cant beat the price but man the wait is killing me.
Keep us posted! What store did you order from? Did you get with or without the backhoe?
nice tractors, wish we had a rural King near me thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! The Rural King store is great! Not only all these great RK tractors and implements, but lots of great clothing, tools, and supplies for rural living.
Great video answered a lot of my questions I was going to get the rk37 but think I will go with the rk25
Glad I could help. I would have a tough time choosing between the RK25, RK37 and RK55. I can find good uses for each.
Nice tractors. They seem fully loaded. Great tour of these models! Cheers!
Yes, thanks
Awesome video. Great information. Looking at one these tractors for my piece of heaven on earth in Warren County … nice to have Rural King in Franklin
John Deere does the same thing. It has a way to Lock it up when you're not using it. I imagine RK tractors have a similar feature.
I am planning on buying an RK25 very soon, I will certainly mention purple collar life
Thank you! I haven't seen a RK25 at the stores in our area for a long time. Did you have to order yours - or is there one on the lot at your local Rural King?
@@PurpleCollarLife the rural king in Lebanon Ohio has 3 in stock right now
John and Meg on the "walnuts and wineberries" channels have a 25 HP RK, and they treat it rough.
Great machine!
It sure is!
Decent video, but I would have really liked to see how easily implements such as the backhoe and mower deck are removed and installed onto the tractor. The bucket looked easy enough, but what about other more involved pieces?
Thanks for watching!
I wish I could have attached and changed out more implements - but I was glad to be able to do the test drive at all.

Thanks for watching! I enjoy taking care of our long driveway with the tractor.
You are not afraid to ask him questions about it where I be lost looking forward to the rest of them

Hi Bob. Thanks for watching the video. You're correct. The RK25 does have an available cab. The cab does have heat only. I've never seen it, and I'm not sure about if the doors come off. As far as pricing, I'm not sure. I've never seen literature on the cab option.
How is the mower deck to put on and take off???
Good question. I'm not sure. I do know that you can't have the mower deck option AND the backhoe option. It's one or the other with the RK25.
From what I have seen and found out on them, is they can be a pain to take off and put back on @@PurpleCollarLife
Would you mind clarifying, is there no mower option if you have one that is backhoe capable due to the framing underneath for the backhoe, or can you remove the backhoe and install the mower deck afterwards? Thanks!
In my research, that’s what I found. If you opt for the backhoe version, you can not use it for the mid-mount mower. It’s a one or the other choice.

That's the Rural King I was at for this video. Great eyes!
@@PurpleCollarLife thanks
@@Antique803 No problem. Let us know what you choose and how it works.
I feel the same😏
Can you get that rk25 with a cab?
At the time of the video, there was no cab available for the RK25. I do think they've started offering an option to add a cab on (not sure if it's aftermarket). But I'm pretty sure I heard that those add-on cabs do not have air conditioning - just heat.
Thanks Chad good video and now you got me thinking I need to sell the Kubota bx and add a rk25 to my homestead to go with the rk55 thanks buddy lmao
Go for it! The RK25 certainly impressed me. Especially that one in the thumbnail with the backhoe - really nice machine!

@@RCAFpolarexpress I have a crush on most tractors - old and new. It's a problem. :)
Where is that Rural King store
Hello - thanks for watching. This particular store is in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Where abouts are you guys in pa, sw,nw, mid,ne,se, im from nw area
We're in the northwest section.
can a back hoe be added to the rk-25 if the mid mount mower is not attached?
If you ordered the RK25 without the mid-mount mower, I think you can still add the backhoe. You'd need to confirm that with an RK salesmen - but I believe it's possible.
Great review Chad
Thanks! It has been a lot of fun doing the research and the testing. :)
Love the RK. But the Stores need to train the sales people better. My salesman at Hanover PA new nothing and didn’t even go over it with me.
I’ve heard that from a few people who contacted me via email. I can tell you that Chris, at the location in this video (Franklin, PA) did a great job! It’s a shame that you had a different experience with the RK salesman at the Hanover store. Was it the tractor specialist from that location?
What will the RK25 lift with the forks?
@@markhutson7661 it will just fine. I've picked up logs 2500-3000 lb - not to full height and it did fine.

Ground clearance?
Great question! It would depend on your setup - tire choices, mid mount mower, backhoe - all that affects the overall ground clearance.
Any differences between rk24 and rk25?
Yes- In my opinion, the RK25 is more of a sub-compact tractor, while the RK24 is like a large garden tractor. Here is the RK24 web page from Rural King: www.rktractors.com/products-tractors-rk24h-rk-tractors.php

Thanks, Sam!
@@brandonmacklenar1484 excellent point. I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks for explaining.
@@brandonmacklenar1484 I think the width is closer to 60 - at least on mine.
Does anybody know how difficult the backhoe is to remove? So you can use other implants.
If I recall, people on the RK tractor forums have said the backhoe is not difficult to remove, and then using the 3 point hitch is easy for other implements.
Ok thank you.
it took me about 2 easy minutes to get it off. and about a frustrating hour to get it back on :)
Looks like the Franklin Pa store
Is that 25 4 wheel drive ?🤔
I thought RK stood for Republic of Korea 🤓
Exact same tractor as the Zetor since they come off the TYM assembly line.
Thanks for watching! I've never heard of the Zetor brand. Is it sold in the USA?
I want it.
They seem like a great machine in that 24-25 hp range. Thanks for watching.
Tire life is more user friendly than beat juice. Beat juice is some stinky nasty stuff but also still better than the chloride filled.

Franklin your not too far from me
It's a nice area for sure. I've traveled a lot for work to other areas of the country. Cities have some nice advantages (good food, sporting events) - but I wouldn't want to live in the city. I prefer our rural PA living.
I need that RK 25 for $18,900 all day.
Seriously! Amazing value.
When he said built in Ohio, did he mean wheels, rops, loader and such are installed after delivery from Korea? Or are they really built in ohio?
I'm not 100% positive. I believe the chassis comes from TYM, and then the wheels, ROPS, loader, etc are assembled there.
Don't know where you are getting your prices from, in the Midwest Deere and Kubota are about 5k more than rk, Tym, and Kioti and are no better.
Jason full of crap
