A beautiful car and maybe the last model that delivers the Ferrari feeling I want. To me this is a much more desirable car than the 458. And the manual gearbox is a must have!
And at the same time we all say the same about the 458 vs. the 488, the newer car only became more artificial, to the point now where the F8 Tributo doesn't feel like a Ferrari at all.
I had a 458 Italia for a year - I was the only person in the UK it seemed who thought the 458 was (for public roads) too fast, too many revs needed to hit sweet spot, too digital, too grippy and terrible harsh gearbox esp on downshifts - So, sold it and bought a tour de France blue 360 manual at 1/3 price - bit ugly compared to a 355 but the best drivers piccolo Ferrari since the 246 imho.

The f430 is a stellar car for the money. My first Ferrari was a f430 and, though I have others in my garage, I still regret selling her. I had a GTC exhaust which made her sing. The baffled exhaust of the 458 is a real disappointment; however, one can drop the diffuser and plug the vacuum lines. This simple trick fixed my biggest problem with the 458. After 30 minutes of modest labor, the 458 sounds like a proper Ferrari at all times. Thanks for yet another excellent Car Guys episode.

That interior is pristine. I can see why you were so apprehensive. Wow... Also love the 6 speed manual. EAG in the US is doing quite a few conversions on 360/430 as well as 612's and 599's.
The carbon seats and breaks make the F430 the perfect last manual before the video game era Ferrari’s. F430 manuals in the US are similar to the equivalent 458’s, I chose the 430 as a better road car experience, not quite so mental more maximum potential can be wrung out on a B road. Love it!
Ur thoughts are spot on. F430 owner here who has also driven the 458 hard and almost every model after. The F430 sounds the best hands down. Succesors are faster and more refined inside and out. Id argue that the F1 transmission allows the driver to better experience the F430 in its own way. An example would be at the track. Upshifts and Downshifts in race mode with exhaust valve overide is the ultimate sound. Hope you get to enjoy that one day. You will know what i mean.

I was lucky enough to spend three days in Modena back in 2007 driving 430s and 599s on the Fiorano race track. The main difference, apart from power, between the 430 and 599, for me, was how much better and faster was the gear shift of the 599 over the F1 gearbox on the 430. At the end of our time with the cars, the management brought out a manual 430 for a short time. There was a rush to drive it, but as I was in on of the 599s at the time, I never got the opportunity, which I have always regretted. Great review of a beautiful car!

17mins in and I have to say *this* is a good Ferrari review. Your natural reaction to its charms comes across as authentic and believable. The F430 is a fine machine especially with the desirable gated shifter and the trick diff. Well done my man and a reminder that our little back and forth over the F12 was a bit tongue in cheek(at my end) and in no way should be taken as a serious whinge on my behalf. (even if you are an F12 fanboy) ;) Thanks for posting, mate.
Beautiful example indeed. Regarding the nicely animated key facts at the beginning (4:38): what does "50% aero improvement over the 360" mean? I think that's nonsense. For sure they improved it, but certainly they did not half the drag coefficient.
What is the watch, Rolex? A car to enjoy as it marked the end of an era for Ferrari a classic. How do you manage to keep a car that pristine even on such low mileage. Keep up the good work, enjoying the drive every Ferrari series.
A very good review of a very good car, a particularly fine example. But I think I would struggle to keep it in what amounts to showroom condition. At the end of the day, it's a wonderful car and needs to be driven and enjoyed. I read an article recently about a chap who'd restored an early E Type to such a standard that he only ever drove it in his socks and then spent ages cleaning it after each use. I think that's a bit obsessive.

in regards to the manual, there are conversion kits available. I tried the paddle, and tbh I kinda loved, I would upgrade to manual if it failed tho.
This Car is special to me as the only Ferrari I have driven. Good to see it here!
Engine living and breathing back there. Whoar! I really liked your review. Thank you.
Stunning underrated car and brilliant video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 👍
Another brilliant episode! Absolutely loving this series. Well researched. Great points. Thanks for this content!
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video as always thank you
👍🏻👍🏻
The best 3 colours for the F430 imo are obviously Rosso Corse, TdF Blue and Grigio Silverstone. All look immense on that bodywork..👍👍
Damian, I nearly spat out my sauvignon blanc with laughter at the cuts to the manual gearbox with epic choir music 😂
Great vid, great channel, subscribed
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video mate
👍🏻👍🏻
If I was to buy used , it would be from Greg , if I was to let somebody else drive it,then only the reverence you showed ( changing the trousers) would do 😂Another brilliant episode and omg the level of that 430
Great review and an absolute minter car! Cheers Damian 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
The first Ferrari I drove and in Italy, still have a soft spot for it but your right the 458 is such a step up and maybe the best V8 Ferrari out there... great video thanks. 👍🏻
👍🏻👍🏻
The holly grail of gear boxes that was great.
I am glad you enjoyed the F430,but did you stop to think think there is also a manual F430 spider .How do you fancy driving that. Hope you get the chance, and that you feature it in a video.I enjoyed your video, the only gripe is you could have shown more footage of the car driving around, from the outside, preferably at speed.Otherwise a good enjoyable road test, and quite satisfying to watch.
Always wanted a 360 as a kid growing up, and I STILL do, and will be my 1st ferrari no matter how much money I have , just to tick the box
Take a UA-cam ferrari fan with you who knows what to look for ,good look buying one 🙏🇬🇧 remember to offer real low and flash a big wad of cash 💸 walk away leaving them your number, tell them in 48 hrs your going to spend it ,they'll ring 😅👌
Thank you for this guide
That one is a Duraglit polished can of Heinz Beans. The only model I have driven, although it was the F1. Gorgeous example and a privilege to be allowed to have a thrash in it. 👏👍
Same here its the only Ferrari Ive driven also the F1box. Had a 20 minute blast in one Thrilling got out shaking from the adrenalin. A Manual Spider would be epic also for me in Australia the RHD manuals are like unicorns.
Best video so far.
Didn't know that about the inspiration for the styling of the front, cool fact.
Every day is a school day :)
Beautiful door handles, not keen on red on seats, plain or black would suit, beautiful yellow clock ⏰️ ,steering wheel select switch is so beautiful/trick 😍,gear stick is fire 🔥
“Slacks’……Telephone call for Mr. Damian, it’s 1940’s wanting you to get back To them……..😂😂
You made me laugh with that word, “Slacks” Mate.
You really do these videos superbly.
:)
Really great review, great car and a fantastic Rolex 👍🥇
Thanks🏎
Glad you enjoyed it
What an incredible example of a dream Ferrari. Smart people tucked these away a while ago when prices are not what they are now. Alas I was not one of them but grateful to indulge in your review video. What a grail example 🙂
It really is
@@TheCarGuysTV the Ferrari series is a complete treat to watch ( am sure not a hardship for Damian either! ). The series will provide a wonderful antidote to the EV years ahead 👍
I’d love one but could not afford a manual. When I decide to part ways with my Exige 410 an F1 will definitely be high on the replacement list.
Thumbs up just for the manual gearbox and normal indicator stalks!
Really enjoyed the episode Damian, that thing was mint . Did I also spy a certain 116508 🤔
Close, it is the 126618LN
@@TheCarGuysTV doh.. I tried, but failed miserably 😂
Fantastic cars ..
(even if you are an F12 fanboy) ;)
Thanks for posting, mate.
👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful example indeed.
Regarding the nicely animated key facts at the beginning (4:38): what does "50% aero improvement over the 360" mean? I think that's nonsense. For sure they improved it, but certainly they did not half the drag coefficient.
From Ferrari 👍🏻
This and an F12 please. Perfect two car garage.
What is the watch, Rolex? A car to enjoy as it marked the end of an era for Ferrari a classic. How do you manage to keep a car that pristine even on such low mileage. Keep up the good work, enjoying the drive every Ferrari series.
👍🏻👍🏻
A very good review of a very good car, a particularly fine example. But I think I would struggle to keep it in what amounts to showroom condition. At the end of the day, it's a wonderful car and needs to be driven and enjoyed. I read an article recently about a chap who'd restored an early E Type to such a standard that he only ever drove it in his socks and then spent ages cleaning it after each use. I think that's a bit obsessive.
I agree
Massive review Damian. Loved it. Have you been working out:):):):)
No, the t-shirt arms are just too tight 👍🏻
Thanks for all the great videos. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I don’t want to be a troll but…. Why repeat that the car is in good condition so many times, we are want to hear your thoughts on the F430 manual, how clean that particular car is is not interesting. Thanks again for taking us along and allowing. All the best!
Thanks Greg 👍
That is the only Ferrari i have ever driven myself (rental), but with the F1 Gearbox. Need a lottery win ;-)
Manual is everything
To this day, still a pretty car and I would still love one since 2005.
Great content Damian, please keep up with it! Even though I don’t believe the F430 is the most beautiful Ferrari made, thanks to the manual gearbox I still believe it’s the real deal!
Great video. I'd love to have a go in a 430 just to compare the evolution from my 360. I've driven a 458 and that was more than enough road car for me and probably my perfect obtainable Ferrari. Loving this "Drive every Ferrari" series as it's right up my street. Keep em coming.
👍🏻👍🏻
best of the old school manual and best sounding modern Ferrari. I take this one over the 458, 488, F8, etc. anytime.
A regular manual 430 spider with 11k miles just sold for $400,000 in the USA at auction in April
Lovely car, would love to see a comparison between this and paddle shifter. Same with 355 between the hard top, targa and spyder
