  • This was the pilot episode for a proposed adventure series for the ABC network, which failed to materialize. It told a fictionalized account of James Buchanan "Diamond Jim" Brady (1856-1917), an American businessman and philanthropist.
In "Skullduggery in Samantha", Diamond Jim (Dale Robertson of "Tales of Wells Fargo" and "Iron Horse" fame) gets hired by a railroad tycoon to finish the buildout of a rail line to a silver boomtown in Colorado by a set deadline. A rival railroad and hired bandits stand in the way.

The real Diamond Jim Brady was a voracious eater. George Rector, owner of a favorite restaurant, described Brady as "the best 25 customers I ever had". After Brady's death in 1917, doctors discovered that his stomach was six times the size of that of an average person.

Is the large-framed actor playing opposite Dale Robertson in the fight scene Jeff York, who portrayed Mike Fink in the massively popular “Davy Crockett, Indian Fighter” films?
