@@billybob9961 There's a new school of thought that believes Shakespeare was a biggot, class discriminatory or rascist or something like that, so they are shunning learning the theatrical acting classes of old, which is what made the best actors who specialized in theater. Even books which depicted ethnic groups in a stereotype of the time are blacklisted. Political correctness of the day is a big contribution to actors without real chops or character. It's like a dance choreographer ignoring Michael Jacksons contributions & dance moves because of his alleged moral weakness. Actors need to remember that performance no matter the character of the performer should be studied if their contributions were revolutionary at the time, regardless if they were unsavory characters in their personal lives. Am I tripping, or does this make sense?

I've never seen a b-film that moves forward this smoothly with no dull moments. Maybe G-Man which came a little before this. Both star Dale Robertson as Purvis.

    • @hardwaygat1354

Sorry sir, but the film you are referencing did not star Robertson, rather it was Ben Johnson who portrayed Purvis . They both have a like sounding voice but it was definitely Johnson. I'm not just going on memory but I just saw it for the umpteenth time night be last !

@@hardwaygat1354 No problem! I thought so too. 🤣 It's a great film also. Whereas Ben Johnson his almost an antagonist Robertson's is more humane. Though the real Purvis was a young man in the 1930s. 😆

@@ollilehtonen2762 In real life, Purvis was highly inexperienced and then ending up commiting suicide with the same gun
(allegedly) that he killed Dillinger . Just like J.E.Hoover neither of them knew how to be an actual

@@hardwaygat1354 Yeah! In cinema he is often depicted as a pretty controversial character. I've heard he was killed by the bullet stuck in the chamber of his gun while trying to remove it. Cannot say if alleged suicide had something to do with killing of Dillinger. In addition I think the whole agency was pretty new with re-enforcing the law as they did. That is, fighting fire with fire. Surely something had to be done.

What is your view about the accent of the actotr acting Melvin Purvis in the film? He was born in Southern Carolina. Does the actor sound like a Southern Carolina accent? TY.

Not a bad film at all. Very entertaining actually. I was pleasantly surprised. Factually wrong alot of the time but it wasn't intended to be correct. They told the story of the massacre in a very entertaining way.
