I know he didn't win any trophies, but Keegan's spell as manager, with the Entertainers' exciting brand of football, and making the club a major force again, having been in the doldrums for years, it was still a very special time for the club and fans alike. Gullit was arrogant, and it was ridiculous and totally unnecessary to go into that dressing room and to seemingly deliberately lock horns with the Local Hero and star player. He was never going to win that battle...

Ruud then used his contacts and reputation to get Zola, Vialli, Di Matteo over, which eventually got them Champions League football, which got them Abramovic, which led to trophies, cups, and leagues. Alas, Ruud didn't get Newcastle the way Sir Bobby, or Keegan, did.

    Shearer didnt get on with the Legend Gullit when he was the manager at Newcastle? Makes sense-having to take orders from a guy who not only won the Ballon d'Or but also redefined European football alongside legends like Van Basten and Rijkaard must have been really intimidating. After all, not every manager comes with that kind of baggage!
