YT brought me to THE most perfect video today! I just made the conditioner mix and used it and girl - I am floored at how easily I brushed through my hair! The Denman brush had absolutely no issues going through each section and my curls are CURLING! Thank you so, so much!
Wow! I’ve been doing my hair all wrong for YEARS and then wonder why I had so much breakage 🤦🏾♀️ I’m definitely going to be using this method from now on thank you!🙏🏾❤️
Wow, thank you so much, this worked! 1st time taking down braids: Going directly to wash the hair, after 3 months, lots of tangles and seeding, terrible experience 2nd time taking down braids (now): after 1.5month, i followed your method (mayo instead of egg), olive oil, coconut oil and lots of conditions. I was impressed that my seeding was too low. It was too easy to detangle! My hair feels soft and recovering :D
This is definitely an important step!! Once that water hits, it is over lol I don't get braids often so I cant remember exactly what I do but I think I usually detangle as I go with a conditioner or a designated prepoo
last year i had box braids in for 3 months after not getting braids for like 5 years. when i took them down there was so much buildup at the root. i put SHAMPOO ON IT! my hair was coming out in CHUNKS. I was devastated. I basically wasted my new growth and existing hair. i've since gotten braids but now i know better. when i tell you there was knots in my hair for days? i had to go to the salon to get it cut it was so bad. now i make sure to keep my hair moisturized even while it's in braids, and always do an ACV rinse upon taking it out
😂😂😂😂😂 this made me lol! You’re so right; some people shed more than others and that okay too. I remember a friend of mine got braids and when she took them out she was so alarmed at the amount of shedding that she never put braids in her hair again😂 her lose. I love braids!
Yes sis definitely will be trying out but instead of the egg I was thinking a fresh avocado...I like how I kept it simple..thank you for sharing your routine
I’m so glad this helped don’t use the egg if your hair is protein sensitive an avocado or adding a little bit of a protein treatment mask to the detangling conditioner.
I been using Natural-all Jamaican Black castor oil growth serum, after I conditioned w/ virgin olive oil or Via Natural ultra care Moroccan Argan oil. For my edges I apply Kaleidoscope Miracle drops. I’ve see Good results. These combinations makes my hair smell Good, Stay soft & Thick. Thanks 😊 for your video. ✊🏾
Thank you so much for posting this video and sharing your tips. My daughter has box braids for the first time, and I’m assisting her with taking them out after 2 1/2 months. We will definitely use your method. God bless. 😊
I'm using your method today and feel this process is important. I didn't have alot of excess hair removed as I used to in the pass. My hair is very thick so I used 2 eggs, 1/4 of avocado oil and conditioner. Let it set in my hair for 30 mins to a hour. My hair definitely needed protein. Thanks for the info. I will tell all my friends
Love this! But (and from personal experience) I wouldn’t go in with a brush right away. Finger detangle first and go in with you tool of choice after in much smaller sections ☺️ And braid each detangled section 🥰
this is a godsend🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 my hair was perfectly detangled and i got all my shedding out. i really recommend using apple cider vinegar to get out build up and then following with this pre poo routine
Too late I already took out my braids but I got a really good shampoo and conditioner that is for hair breakage and no complaints but I'm going to try this next time even without the braids Thank you
I’m not natural but even though I relax my hair my curls are resilient so it’s like loose curl. Anyways I’m taking my sew in out and I want to relax my hair but my leave out is breaking and my hair is sooo dry. Didn’t realize I needed to do protein treatments. So I’m going to do this and wait a week before relaxing it. Think I’ll rock my hair for a bit. It needs so TLC!
Lol Thanks, Detangling is aggy to me but its something we gotta do😫. That Auddie Curls makes life easier I just got their Aussie Curls leave-in, its light but nice.
After I take out the braids i always have a huge buildups so I take my time to remove all with a leave in conditioner mixed with water then detangle it well before I wash… I don’t use any eggs or something special but I make sure that I can comb through it well before I wash ☹️☹️
You don’t have to use eggs or protein its an optional boost; your method is definitely sufficient! I do love adding oils to my conditioner to make it more nourishing though! I love how my wet hair feels with oil in it!
Eggs are expensive lol I don't even have my braids in yet and already can't wait to take them down. Also usually after taking my braids out I straighten it. Is that more damaging to the hair or is that ok?
You know your hair is protein sensitive when protein treatments leave your hair very dry, brittle and causes breakage. Protein helps strengthen hair so its important to find a good way to incorporate it into your regimen (like adding an avocado to a deep conditioner that you love) but beware of high levels of protein like, greek yogurt diy deep conditioners, and products that profess to have some form of protein amino acids.
@@RachelAdina and if the treatment does leave your hair dry and brittle with breakage would u use a deep conditioner or mask to help restore the moisture?
I really want to try the miracle curl but I’m tired of coconut in every product. It literally makes me sick to my stomach after using foxy it infused products for so long. 😩 so sad because they make for the best products.
Honty... let me tell you how this method was the truth. I had very and i mean very minimal hair come out from shampooing. Now my focus is on these stressed out edges. Please help....❤
Yes in that exact order!😊 You don't want to go into the shower with hair that has been in box braids without removing the build up of dirt, and shed hair; so detangle as you apply the mask.
Hi! Can I use an alternate conditioner such as SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner or Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner or SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-In Conditioner. These are the conditioners I currently have right now but not sure which one to use for this process and which one to use when I deep conditioner after shampoo. I love your hair btw!!!😊
Question? I’m a new loose natural and it’s time for me to take my braids out! So I’ve been looking for aftercare videos....but Um the protein and oil from the mixture isn’t that going to cause the dirt in my hair to form like cement and trapping those dirt in
I never had those experiences I would say that if you are protien sensitive to avoid using the egg and and a conditioner that has a little more protein with the aussie conditioner instead. I do this more as a moisturizes detangling measure than anything else and once shampoo hita your hair and you give it a good wash will easily clean any building up. I actually find that adding oil, water, and conditioner to my roots helps to loosen the build-up amd dirt from the braids. I think if you tried it you would be happy you did. Thanks for commenting this was a good question.❤
I need help!! I washed my hair about 1 week before taking out my braids with shampoo and conditioner for the braids so now when I wash my hair should I use shampoo and conditioners again.!!
I would do it again personally. If it doesn't feel dirty (meaning you dont get build up in your nails when you scratch) just wait a few days but 10 days or so is enough between washes just use a good deep conditioner and leave it on for a few hours. Don't forget to detangle before you wash.😘
You can use any conditioner that adds moisture and gives good slip for detangling! I used Carols Daughter Rose water Gel to Cream detangler and it worked even better. You can find it in my latest video!

I dont use the eggs anymore I found that a old mashed avocado is a better protein balance for my hair; if not that 2 table spoons of Olive oil Mayonnaise. I'm glad you found me!!! Thanks for watching!👋🏾🥰😍
Yes please! My hair got very tangled when I took down my box braids on transitioning hair😬 be very gentle and patient with it. I recommend that you skip the protien part as it can make protien sensitive hair feel hard and brittle.
So I haven haven’t had a perm in a minute and just took down tribal. I’m not looking to get a perm so just my second guessing is this ok to go with just leaving the egg out
