During the Fat Wreck Chords 25 year anniversary tour stop in Boston, MA at the House of Blues, NOFX performed "The Death of John Smith" from the Longest Line.
One of the best they have. Oh... Guess there are a few more. A lot more. But the bassline is fucked. Up. The breaks are outstanding. El hefe. This is all but just great. Thanks guys for keeping me alive for more than 30 years. I have so many hearts in me. You are in one of them. Besides others of course. Just thanks. Pure thanks. I bow my head. 😊
Dude, if you went to a punk show for singing, you're into the wrong kind of music. Watch him live in 92 playing this song. That's how real punk rockers sing. They just go off. However they sound, they sound.
It sounds so much better live. They have been doing this so long like 90% of the songs they can play black out drunk but stuff with harder riffs and ones they rarely play are sometimes a disaster. Mike forgets the words or eric forgets what hes playing for a second. Still a fucking great show. 4 times and they have never disappointed. I saw them right after mikes divorce and he was so fucking hammered he could hardly talk but he fucking NAILED The decline. They played it so fucking well it was incredible.
Legend...I am 46 years old.I usually listening nofx at university. Now, in 2024, I join my v3ins with nofx music one more time.
No jumping about for this one- they gotta stand still and concentrate!
😂
I Love This song!❤️
Damn that intro bass!
Yeah, RKL would that play with ease 😂
My bro got me The Longest Line in 2006. I was glad. Such a good ass song! I had 45 or 46 and War on Errorism when I was 17.
I need this song live once in my life... san Diego play it fellas
Man, smelly still rocks as hard as ever!
And he plays like it's nothing too lmao
Still smells the same 😂
I think it was the only ''NOFX achievement'' I don't have... live performance of 'Death of John Smith

Man, they were doing really awesome until Mike started singing. Still pretty good tho, glad to know they can still rock the house this way.

Hey, no one ever said he was a technically good singer. And to be fair to him, this song is really hard to play on bass and sing at the same time.
He's still fat, but not singing flat.... Sounds a little high to me.
mike forgot words
Such a ignorant statement but mikes vocals! Shows what you know bout the band, and NOFX
you're right, they only have like 500 songs, it should be easy for him to remember the lyrics to all of them. fucking idiot
He stumbled a bit on the last chorus, but that's probably because he was distracted by Hefe starting to play the chorus two bars too early.
