Airsoft newb here! Just picked up my first rifle, Emg noveske gen 4, and looking for a sight for it. Found these acog reps on dhgate, qnd came to the Internet to research them, found this vid, and it was everything i was looking for!! Well done sir thank you! You earned a new subscriber!
I personally like the clear Lexan protectors that mount directly to the optic instead of a kill flash. The rail mounted shields look dumb, I'll agree with that, but the kill flash blocks too much light in my opinion. I have one on my little micro dot and I just doesn't feel right.😕 I know guns modify makes some nice press fit protectors for eotech and I'm sure someone makes them for acogs too. I personally run the guns modify protector on my real eotech exps2 and it fits great and doesn't distort the reticle at all 🙃
I have a ACOG scope, it's x4, and the retinal can lit up red and green, I like the small magnifier because i have very bad eyesight... and for medium to long ranges i can see people i can't see without the magnifier... my ACOG has a little iron sight on the top for CQB... but it cost €80,-... very expensive but worth it :P but you need a scope protector because €80 is way to expensive for it to get shot out in CQB... but good video... very informative...
Eye relief is a big deal to me in terms of target acquisition. Acogs tend to have a small eye relief and with a dye mask and/or full seal eye pro it can be difficult or strenuous on your neck. I prefer having an mro replica with a flip to side magnifier that way I have the same movement and I can train to have quick target acquisition and if I do need magnification one usually has the time to flip it into position to do so. I have both setups and never use my acog scope because of those drawbacks
JOSE GARCIA you could change over to the Tigris mesh mask with low profile eye protection (valken zulu, Oakley M-Frame w/ helo kit, etc.) I don't have too much issues with the ACOG except just getting a cheek weld quickly. (Given I have full mesh) But to each their own.
@Internet man Funny you said that I have one that I run with Oakley tombstone glasses when I don't run my dye mask because the dye mask doesn't allow me to use my fast helmet setup. When I play more of a milsim game ,outdoor fields or when I just wanna look tactical I run that but for some cqb fields that require fullseal and don't allow shades/mask combo I have to use my dye mask and I don't like to have to switch out my sights zero them in over and over it's just a preference thing but I do agree with you I don't have an issue with my Tigris mask love the soft sides that allow me to get a comfortable cheek weld just still don't prefer an acog because it limits my field of view I can be much more aware of my surroundings while aiming down sights on shooting and moving situations and an acog makes that more difficult since I don't usually stick to one spot im always mobile so I struggle with an acog and usually just end up shooting like I have canted sights even though I don't have them lol.
the thing is magnification is completely unnecessary for aegs or any ar, like ak and m4's since they shoot below 400fps, and the range of your rifle is way less than expected. you might get enough zoom then tryna land a shot on someone, but then realise it's out of range. you'd only want a scope with magnification on a dmr or sniper, just anything with 500fps or more. for an ar, i'd personally prefer using an optic without magnification, like a red dot, eotech or reflex sight. they're way cheaper than an acog or sniper scope, and it really helps with your vision of the background on the field. i can't say an acog is bad, but it just really limits what i can see around me even with both eyes open
I've mounted one on my G36 only because I was tired AF of searching for batteries for the red dot, I got one with a functioning optic fiber and now I give a s**t about other batteries exept for radio and the replica itself...
I personally didn't like ACOG replicas for airsofting because wearing even a mesh-lower face mask combined with the tiny eye relief made it an absolute chore trying to see anything. For magnified optics, I gambled on a vism elcan clone and that was easier to use for me personally, have you tried one before?
You uh... you always shoot with both eyes open. Ex service here... you always, always shoot with both eyes open. Co-Mingle I think you are confusing it with the fact you can still use ironsights with an optic, that's what co-mingling means.
On my H and k 416 I have a small red dot and laser sight combo and if it goes down all I have to do is flip up my iron sights and I can still see through the glass with no problems
Make sure you are adjusting it in the right direction, you might be going the opposite way. Also check to make sure you mount is 100% flat on the rail. If it is tilted, it may limit how much adjustment you can reach.
The two that I showed in the video are both G&P replicas. I wish I could get a real ACOG, but that's a lot of money to dedicate to a single purchase for me right now. Sometime in the future I will though.
Lieutenant_Sepp maybe used. New are over 1000 dollars. Closer to 1400, depends on where you shop. I've had a few and currently have one on a real steel AUG TA31F
Not to try to tell you how to set up your sights but i just have to question why you have it the way you do? You have a acog that you say you can use with both eyes open and only use the sight ignoring the zoom but then you have a red dot for quicker sight wich kind of makes sence but then the acog has iron sights on them and then you add flip up sights that is four sights on one gun??? It just feels a bit over done i mean maybe the magpul one is just for the looks wich is fine and maybe the once on the side of the acog sucks enough to not be worth including acording to you. I don´t see anyone ever have the acog and red dot stop working and then be like hum the ironsights on the acog sucks so lets remove it and use the flip up one. Personal preferance though the extra stuff you ad on it would not be of use to me because in the situations where those would be used i would rather just point fire the gun. For me the acogs i have used have never worked out for me, Maybe that is just because i am not good at using them and i could get better with some practice but so far i have found that a standard red dot have worked better for me.
Well if so be i think thats fine, I personally love to bling out my guns and have even put on a braid with a cute skull doll to my stock once and i thought it was fun but it got in the way once so i dumped it.
The sights on the side of the ACOG are pretty much worthless, which is why I have folding back up iron sights. The very limited chance that both the magnified part and the red dot both stop functioning, I would still have a set of sights to use until I could remove the optic and use the properly sighted in folded ones. I could very easily remove the irons on the ACOG, but given the weight difference is minimal, I'd rather just leave them on. I more or less just wanted to point out that you still have irons to use in case the optic fails. That being said, if you use an ACOG that has an illuminating crosshair reticle, you can use the Bindon aiming concept, where you shoot both eyes open, and your mind will overlay the bright crosshairs over the 1x vision of your other eye so you can use it kind of like a red dot. Not everyone is comfortable doing it, and there is some parallax to overcome, which is why they started putting micro red dots on top or on 45 degree offset mounts. I won't argue that a red dot will work for most engagements. I use red dots lots of other rifles I own, but it is nice to have some magnified optics for longer more open areas and larger fields.
Dartfish , I don't know if I mentioned it in the video, but there is a small pair of iron sights on the left side of the ACOG that can be used. They aren't the greatest, but they are something. The other option is of course to remove the optic completely if BOTH the micro dot and magnified parts fail.
How do I figure out the zoom? I like the ACOG design but I think 4x zoom is a little too much. I was thinking maybe a 2x zoom. Can someone explain to me the numbers please? (e.g. 2.5-10x40)
Let's say, for example, 4x32. 4 Is the amount of magnification, which (i guess) means that everything you see will be 4x closer when looked at through the scope. 32 is the diameter of the objective lens, in millimiters.
I mean i think the individual in the video wasnt broad enough in his description for his use of it, I play in a mostly wooded environment and at 200ft in varied lighting conditions a 4x optic allows the shooter to spot their rounds and adjust accordingly (much like the marine corps real application for the optic as to increase the hit percentage of the standard rifleman)
The issue with canted sights is that it'll mess up the shot because of the way hop up works
Ubisoft needs to read this so they can give bandit and jager their acogs back
Chikage lol
so true lol
Lol
Lmao true
I just bought an acog for my mp7 lmao
Lets be honest, everyone wants one because they look cool AF
so ill just put an ACOG on my mp7

i have a pirate arms ACOG, its a red dot with no magnification "dressed" as an acog.

Real ACOGs have models that go down to 1.5x fixed power miniACOGs.
just wonder if ACOG is too much for airsoft? since our BB pellets cant really shoot so far away

I see you wear glasses. How do you solve your sight when airsofting?
Get some save phace grunt series
Guard Dogs and a few other companies can make prescription safety glasses.
The Trigican booth at the NRA convention was awesome
@@JoshuaPanola how is he a child murderer?
How far in metres would I be to see through the ACOG? MINIMUM and MAXIMUM?
Where did u buy the trijicon acog scope?? I mean what website??
I've mounted one on my G36 only because I was tired AF of searching for batteries for the red dot, I got one with a functioning optic fiber and now I give a s**t about other batteries exept for radio and the replica itself...
lowest power on an acog is 1.5x or 1.25x

Maybe you could help me with my sight. I have a aim sports 1.5-4 x 30 and I can't get it sighted in! The bb is always wayyyy above the cross hair

what acog is this?
Can you use an rmr mount to out that style red dot on an acog?
So, what good quality/fair price ACOG do you guys recommend?
Probably like 800 to 1500 dollars
Check on AliExpress, you can get good clones for cheap
Is that original ACOG or some other brand? If other brand what brand is it?

Josh Downs I buy them in the military
Lieutenant_Sepp yeah military cost is that much. Civie market is almost double. I was military and spent too much time in fedlog.
Reason 1# you look super cool
which replica Acog/RCO do you guys recommend? I know G&P and Avengers airsoft make pretty good looking ones
I believe both of the ones I feature in this video are G&P, which are definitely my go-tos.

My god ,talk about overkill , please people it's Airsoft , just point and shoot or just get a cheap red dot , or air rifle scope jeez . 😆
