Cool! I've got a curious question, does the commander's ability reduce the cost on subsequent castings of the commander? Like, if you'd cast the commander once already, it'd cost (10)G +(2). If you had a bunch of toughness, would it just cost one green?

Correct! The discount applies to commander tax as well

Problem with Arcades is his ability only reaches creatures with defender, which is a shame.

@carlavlund5841 Sadly this is true. But the addition of white is not to be underestimated. High alert and other wall support cards are in that color
