I love Erika's hosting style!
Love this series! Hope to see more soon
Really clean shots. I love it. Quality comments on the food as well. Keep it coming!
More of Erika please, really like her for her honest reviews.
HKM is my favourite food!!! loved this video!
Hi Seth, have you tried Swee Guan Hokkien Mee in Geylang Lor 29? This one is better than the Geylang Lor 29 Hokkien Mee or at least on par. Because it is the ORIGINAL Geylang Lor 29 stall run by the other brother. This one is superb and their prawns and sotong are quite fresh also
Love this series! Personally would love to see either chendol or Bah Chor mee next! 😁
Great episode! It'll be helpful to list the places you visited in your description.
There're so many local dishes to try; laksa, chicken rice, lor mee, mee rebus, satay.... It'll take a lifetime!
I used to frequent the 'Come Daily ' Hokkien Prawn Mee stall when I lived at Blk 123, Lor 1, Toa Payoh back in 1982-84. Must have been the dad who cooked back then. Funny thing was that they had misspelled the signboard as 'Come Dairy'! Live in Denmark now- My mouth waters....
going off to try the geylang one
Hokkien mee is definitely my favourite Singaporean dish!
you must go to Ali BarBar at Joo Chiat for the char mee sua. is like hokkien mee, but they do it with meesua. highskill involved. do at home, good luck scrubbing the wok.
Hi Seth & Erica....I am from Australia....travel to Singapore every year. So I loved your video and look forward to future videos. So I can venture away from hotel foods on my next visit in July
Cheers Paul
Paul B check out another channel called “Night Owl Cinematics” as well. They make really good recommendations in my opinion
Love you erika, muackz
This one is something that I want them to feature. I wish char kway tiao would be featured. Seriously speaking I have not eaten a good char kway tiao for the past 5 years other than the hill street char kway tiao that is located at the hawker center opposite of Temasek junior college. Most of the talented Hawkers who cooked the best char kway tiao had either retired or nobody to continue what they do or have died. Really is like going to die out. Nowadays I don eat them as it doesn’t hit my target of what a good char kway tiao is
what about the stall at upp serangoon road. my all time favourite.
Keep it you next generation to respect and support in local... Keep it up.... Team....
Surprisingly better than Food King episodes. And you guys are only at Episode 1. KUDOS!
At least minimal Singlish👍
hemm nice episode
i love singapore's hokkien mee...yummy
Good Job Erika.......and Seth..haha.
you guys should try the bedok corner 1...its as good as the geylang's 1
You may want to try Sheng hock Hokkien mee at Hougang ave 4 for a real gooooood plate of hkk mee
hmm.. i like the old airport where a few brothers operate together & only open in the day!
Tian Tian Lai is my favorite as well. It's the best in Singapore in my opinion.
For Hokkien mee, I personally prefer the Bedok corner marketplace. The food center opposite of Bedok camp. That Hokkien mee is among the ones at ABC brickworks and airport road market is one of the few best Hokkien mee in Singapore.
If price isn’t an issue, can also try the lobster hokkien mee at Justin’s restaurant at MBS
What would be your choices for Cantonese Roast?
2:00 I'm trying to process that logic .charcoal makes it darker? WHAT!!!?? it's obviously the soy sauce
Hmm you're right it was most probably the dark sauce instead!
Yeah omg so sorry!! I don't know what I was thinking!
Hahahaa
@@ErikaMaguicay you're gorgeous
Give Simon road Hokkien mee a try. Full of “wok hei”!
I want Laksa for next episode!
Hokkien mee? Hokkien youu, buuddy!
The golden mile food centre Hokkien mee is missed out and personally this is the best so far I ever tasted in Singapore.
agreed
Hey Bro, we are visiting Singapore soon. Can you please suggest halal hoikei noodle places?
Keep it up.!
Why u didn't include East coast road ones ?
You're missing out if u haven't tried hokkien mee from KPO. Forget Michelin guides, they sell tyres.
Send me some of those noods, looks delicious 😍
Try Kim's Place at Joo Chiat. It's their specialty.
Bro the prawn they take very cheap only they sell u 5-6 already alot.....
like... like... like...yeah, like.
Not many people compare and rate satay bee hoon. Pls make a video of it.
Agreed with the WOK 氣。
my fav is Xiaodi Hokkien mee!!!
@sethlui you should really try this if you haven't!
Try mee pok!
Erika is my favourite part of this episode. "Seth likes it wet" ha! I died.
thats right toa payoh
@ 2:30 That is the best way. Seth got his priorities well. He knows his taste buds well.
I’ve never been inclined to comment on vids on UA-cam, but just wanna let y’all know I love what you guys are doing! Keep up the awesome content!
I am shocked that the one at Chomp Chomp wasn't featured! 😱
LOL yes that one is the best .. but 1hr wait
My favorite dish in Singapore along with char kway to. The Seah Im food center has awesome hokkien mee for $3. Husband and wife. Nicest people. Under rated I think. Check it out
sad the chomp chomp stall wasn't inside, but still one of my favourite.
i agree, they should have tried that
Good job on your interesting and honest reviews. I would like to see you review fish soup and western food stalls.
Swee Guan Hokkien Mee at Geylang Lorong 29 ftw! Best Hokkien Mee in SG imo...
Actress & Emcee. #GrammerNazi.... haha
the one in tiong bahru is Michelin bib? proves that is just all bulls, i went to that hawker a few times and order this stall before, it's so average that i didn't buy from them again, ahahahaha
old airport road?? never try?? lol.
Chicken rice please
GEYLANG LORONG 29 IS THE BEST I LIKE IT DRYIER
How did Hong Heng Fried Sotong Prawn Mee got a Michelin bib?
there are many fried prawn mee better than this...haha
8:13 that looks more like tau Hu than pork lard🤔
ABC THE BEST!!!
“.. really likes it wet”
Erika, u bad gal
please confirm what the best laksa is in singapore
Shanelle Chong I felt the one at Jalan Besar Coffeeshop is one of the best. The charcoal cooked soup base.
Shanelle Chong malaysia is the answer
Why was Golden Mile absent in a Hokkien Mee episode?
Was about to say so. That's like the best!
tried it. found it so so only
My favourite as well. But less people know better. Shorter queue.
Not bad
Once he listed price as his Obvious criteria, I lost interest. Should be taste!
Can I get S$2 for big prawn if I mention your name?
Ubin hokkien mee. Seriously
urmm why never feature the one that is FOOD KING GOOD?
Erika , u r honest ! that ABC market's hkm totally cannot make it at all ! number 2 tian tian lai is the best among all
Wet mee
Hokkien mee is an underrated dish? I think its the opposite.
*SETH LIKES IT WET*
I hate it when they served hot food on styrofoam dishes hmm!!
To get michelin bib you must serve on styrofoam dish. Just look at the number of Michelin Bib stalls serving on styrofoam. Poisoning their customers
Indomie's Mi Goreng looks better.
Those are really good noodles, but it's not really Hokkien mee from where I come from
All the food prep, like wok hei, ingredients and all are in place, but it's still not Hokkien mee
If we don't support our locals, who will......!!!!?????
Don't go to wrong store, store at geylang lor 29," Swee guan" hokkian mee was bad hygiene ,bad manner, also higher price.
Price ? Lol
Seth seems bias and trying to influence Erika's choice and featuring the atas seafood restaurant's looks like a paid placement. Why never feature Old Airport Road and Golden Mile Hawker Centre ones?
Thanks for the input. trying to change her mind is part of the fun and it would be boring if we both had the same sentiments. And no, the atas place is not paid. Old Airport road one wasn't open to filming as well.
So geli
Eat is easy, giving rate is easy, cooking the dish oneself is another story.Food critic when one is not a cook oneself is questionable particularly when it come to traditional food.Ingredient that goes well with what dishes etc.Now new fusion dishes pop up everywhere all over the globe so the bottom line is the cook /chef will come up with whatever dishes there is of their creation but everyone have their own taste and should the food met one palate then the food is good ,great or whatsoever.Food is about eating and fill up one stomach and to energize one body.Food critic are there to popularize certain dishes or even restaurant, particularly now where people are willing to spend quite an amout of cash based on this so call expert in food and taste should be like and taste like. Its all about money now.Back in the old days there is no Michelin rating whatsoever but people still eat because when one hungry anything goes. The world best food critic or blogger will appriciate instant noodle when they are starving. THUS food of one choice is when it is good and met one taste and fill up one belly and get the energy to go thru one day's.
Really goes to show that having western accolades for Asian food doesn't really mean shit.
We don't need Western Awards to let us or other people know that our food is good.
smh
5:00
charcoal doesnt make food darker. wtf is this host smoking?
How dare u to miss out Ah Hock of Chomp Chomp (Michelin 1 star) & Golden Mile uncle with goggle to justify claim of "Best Hokkien Mee" - shame on you to share biased review with someone (like pinoy) who doesn't like hokkien mee in first place
How is it possible to upload porn on UA-cam
Seth , you sould be more open to accept other people opinion. dont go and try to influence others. if this show host by erika herself ,is more than enough
you are absolutely right. Erika is brilliant enough and should just get her own show! Unfortunately I'm too boring to be doing a monologue hence I need her :( perhaps in the future we could do one with just Erika
@@SethLui thumbs up for this good natured reply. The interaction between the hosts is great!
Nah, my brother does a better hokkien mee.
Michelle stars are like so overrated. Ignore at all costs!
you do realise bib goumand is rubbish? Just a form of advertising and western validation of asian food
