At first I was angry when I didn't see Erika, but oh man! This Leon guy is such a good food critic! So precise and detailed in explaining the food and gives trustworthy opinions of the individual components! Can we have both Erika and Leon in the next ep!? 3 hosts please!
Ya he surprisingly damn good, solid critic. Will be good to mix them up, or event better have all 3 of them!
Keep the new guy, he sounded very very sincere, have his own way of expressing his views but most importantly good people who are natural in front of the cam is hard to come by. Ok, sub to this channel becos of him!!
Leon is really good. First time I finished watching the entire episode. It’s nice to see the host enjoying the food and really eating it.
keep the new guy
Totally agreed, Yishun is one of the best and Tian Tian is overrated.
Yishun Is The Best Idk Why Ppl Keep Voting For Tian Tian I Dont Like The Chilli So Spicy Yishun Is The Best
Very pleasant co-host
Leon’s commentary is excellent. Good critic!
My all time favorite chicken rice is the $2 chicken rice from then ananas cafe at tiong bahru. But the last time i had it was 7 years ago :( i can't find them now. So my current fav will be Wee Nam Kee chicken rice!
This channel is great one day I'll visit Singapore.
Bishan's Kim San Leng (Ming Kee) chicken rice is the best for me! I'd normally order drumstick (boneless) with 2 bowls of rice for 5 dollars. The rice itself is the best in sg imo, and I haven't tasted any better at similar price point.
Tried the yishun 925 one before as well, it's really good too. Boon tong kee also no question about it, it's good.
I think the one at seah im food centre is pretty decent too!
Tian Tian however, was a complete disappointment for me, along with alot of the other chicken rice stalls at Maxwell food centre which really makes the place seem like a tourist trap.
Tian Tian was decent till Anthony Bourdain went and hype up the place. Then they got so touristy and u sort of expects higher standards from them but they are just normal chicken rice(but ex now)
Grew up with 925 Yishun Chicken Rice so its one of my fav with the super tender white chicken and the achar on the sides makes u want to have a second servings. The Katong one looks so inviting,
i hope i get to try it one day. They set the bar so high with that soup.
This guys is good. You guys should do this as a trio sometimes
I think the texture of the chicken is a key point when I rate a chicken rice. Tenderness and juiciness are so important to me 🤤
Tian tian is an ang moh place that's how Anthony Bourdain rated it so high. Actually to ang mohs all chicken rice is good to them.
the chicken rice is my faviorte place to eat at in singapore I would love to know where in what place did you guys ate at in what part of singapore I ate at the singapore malls is next to my hotel is near the malls by my hotels
I never seen chicken rice with achar, menarik... Maybe I can try it when I go to Singapore
Yishun 925's chicken and rice looked so yummy!!!
Thank you, very much. In March 2020 Ill be in Singapore to try one or more of your chicken rice suggestions! Best regards from New Zealand.
just dont go to tian tian. thats the worst
There’s a stall at Golden Mile Food Centre near Haji Lane called Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice located on the lower level. There’s usually a long line during lunch. Half chicken only cost S$9, S$18 for whole chicken. Cheap by Singapore standards and very good!
This comment did not age well
There is another Loy Kee at the nearby Whampoa market that is pretty good as well and it’s affordable
Everyone has his or her own fave chicken rice place. Mine is at Bt Timah hawker centre managed by a middle aged couple but I have not been there for a long time.
U should try the 89.7 supper club at Geylang east ..The roasted chicken rice is the best I ate so far...chilli is slightly sweet ,sour and spicy..It’s halal too,..
Leon is so cheerful, great addition!
to be honest, boon tong kee is good. not sure why it didnt make it to your list..i find boon tong kee definitely much better than tian x2.
Best Chicken Rice in Singapore is actually in Holland but since no one knows about it thus it is not crowded at all. I have tried many and they are still the best.
Chicken rice at bukit gombak taste good too
Singapore here we come!
when you are hungry everthing tests good !
Thank god of how u both rated tian tian. Some even say ah tai was better.
try Hainanese Chicken Rice at Blk 107, Jalan Bukit Merah #01-1826, and Heng Ji Chicken Rice #02-131, Chinatown Silk House. In terms of taste and price, it will beat most of the so-called best chicken rice in Singapore.
Ten years ago, I went to Maxwell to try Tian Tian and was utterly disappointed. Unable to satisfy my craving, I went a few shops away to try Tong Fong Fatt and I ended up wiping three plates of it. And I never went to Tian Tian again. TFF now has a chain of stores too.
Yes I always buy Tong Fong Fatt at Maxwell :)
TFF is the best at Maxwell, agreed! Always sad when I see Tian Tian drawing the crowds despite being so mediocre.
I agree. I’ve mentioned before that Leon’s reviews are very honest . Seth .. let him pair up with you in all your food episodes.
Seth, do try the halal chicken rice at great world city food court at Level 3. Fitra chicken rice is one of the best halal version. Even better than ever top
Food is LIFE! Asian food is the BEST!
Try Shunfu hawker centre Leong chicken rice, chicken so tender taste so good , chilli Super good and no seed ( wee Nam Kee chicken chicken too much fat, chilli so much seed how to eat) tian tian so so , Loy Kee not bad, Boon tong Kee over price , 925 chicken and chilli also good
I always go to PowSing Serangoon Gardens... Maybe it’s time to go to that Katong place that you recommended. Thank you guys!
Teach u. U should go to Serangoon central, there is one coffeshop called “万金”, just beside there is a small KFC....that coffeeshop got a chicken rice stall pretty awesome. It is a branch from Yishun, I believe!
Wow, didn't expect tian tian to fare so badly, afterall it had Anthony Bourdain's seal of approval too. Guess it's always best to follow the locals. I've read that the Michelin directory is actually not very relevant in Asia...lol
Of course Mr Bourdain doesn't eat chicken rice growing up. What a fairly good plate will be fabulous to him.
The chicken texture is wow! Moist yet firm.
I hope to visit Singapore one day.
I like that both of you are not wearing any ear rings
925 is the best..i dont usually eat white chicken but 925 taste like roast chicken..miss those chicken..
A much better review of chicken rice than Food King's chicken rice version. 925 was totally bashed by them!
You can tell food King just trying to make that chicken rice episode controversial and is nonsensical with their reviews. But that being said, Chicken rice is way too subjective because everyone will have their own benchmark
Food king is over rated only YP watch them. This guys give better food reviews
This 2 guys are definitely more genuine in terms of rating the chicken rices!
@@zainulzai but admittedly food king hosts has more chemistry and are entertaining though
@@ngsuat4353 yeah they're entertaining but aren't really serious about the food reviews
Where's my ananas cafe $2 chicken rice gang?
is the dark sauce is the thick soy sauce?
Seth, what about the stall in Far East Plaza, called Hainanese Delicacy?
Delicious boneless chicken rice da best
Chicken Rice @T4 food court is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
For me the “best” chicken rice is wherever it’s the cheapest. Honestly speaking, you can’t really screw up the taste of chicken rice. Not even the pre-mixed packs you get from the supermarkets.
Miss Singapore…went to high school there
I ate at tian tian 2 weeks ago and it was one of the worst chicken rice ive eaten in SG. Rice wasnt fragrant, meat felt tough and stale. best part is they dont even serve soup lol. The chicken rice i eat weekly at bedok hawker centre tastes SO much better
Didn't try Ah Tai Chicken Rice at Maxwell? The chef left Tian Tian to start his own stall and it's way better and less touristy but way more low key so there's no queue.
Chicken is better, but the rice always seemed lacking
@@thedxdydz Agree
BOON TONG KEE is the best for me, followed by WEE NAM KEE.
I second that...
Amen to that..
ok lah boon tong kee , best for me is jalan besar chicken rice, Underground
I prefer Loy Kee anytime! You guys can try out the hawker version at balestier or whampoo market, the price is much cheaper. Haven't try 925 so will give it a go one of these days. Thanks for the recommendation :)
What about boon tong kee ? That’s famous too
By the way, my favourite is BoonTong Kee followed by Loy Kee
AGREEED
Yet Con is the best. You guys should try.
The owner passed away and now Yet Cohn no more. Their babi panggang (roast pig) is out of this world! Great pity.
Best Halal Chicken is Fitra Chicken Rice at Sengkang Kopitiam Square
you forgot the chicken rice ball at jalan besar , thou dont know where the original one move to
i think they didn't include hawker chan is because it's not a traditional chicken rice?
they only serve soya sauce chicken rice
Hawker Chan is HK chicken. This clip is about Hainanese chicken rice.
The number of the word “moist” used in this video 🤣
Surprised to see that Seth has a co-host in this episode. I find Leon to be a good critic. Just like Seth, he gives honest & detailed opinions. I prefer Leon to Erika who does not seem to know local traditional food as well as these two guys.
What about hawker chan ?
If you’re at Changi village, try 89.7 steamed chicken rice. I really like it
Isn’t delicious chicken rice the one that is food kingggg gooooood?
Ah tai chicken rice, the ex chef of tian tian is better than tian tian itself, and the best is no need to queue
You should do an episode of Burgs by projectwarung
@10:52 - Katong Shopping Centre's chicken rice no longer has freeflow ah char and soup as at 2021. Take note!
there used to be a chicken rice stall at tangling halt market and food centre called tian shui chicken rice, which was reviewed by dr. tay, similar to the maxwell food center's chicken rice, it featured a heavy, thick sauce unfortunately the stall changed owners so its gone.
Its loy kee (low key) the best chicken rice ahahhahaha...ok ill go home.
Eating chicken rice from a Chinese rice bowl, but using fork and spoon?...🤔....new Spore style?...
Anyway....thanks for sharing...💖💝💐
I don't like tian tian. Their rice is too salty. I think due to the sauce they drizzled
As much as i agree that tian tian is over rated, but evertop over tian tian?
AMK S11 chicken rice for me
That salty taste from Tian Tian is probably MSG!
after eating chicken rice for so many years, came to realized , most of the chili sauce taste the same even 925 ones , really sucks , miss my fave stall at jalan besar .....
Just curious; why do they say "la" sometimes? Also, what does "bagus" mean? Very interesting!
"la" is a quintessential Singlish word. If you aren't aware of Singlish, look it up :)
and as for "bagus" it is a direct translation from the Malay language, meaning "good"
@@halonick Thank you very much!
Where’s my Boon Tong Kee in balestier? Could have just hop over from Loy Kee, the chili at LK doesn’t cut it.
Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice really is overrated. Probs i'm the only one with this opinion.
I agree with you as well. Way too overrated. I have tasted so many nicer chicken rice and don't even have to queue for them.
tiantian is overrated. you are right.
90% of singaporeans share this sentiment
Don't worry I agree with you and I am Singaporean. I like Boneless Chicken Rice at Katong Shopping Centre
You will only win if you have chicken rice 3 meal a day, additionally include all snack chicken rice too.
the best chicken rice, is the one my Hainanese mum cooks for the family, our own kept chickens, hand slaughtered.
Chicken rice no soup.
Still called chicken rice!!!
🤭🤭🤭
925 erm no 5 hell no
Bishan chicken rice best steamed and katong chicken rice best roasted
Chicken rice should comes with soup. No soup= 🙄
Why is it so expensive?
Got so distracted by Leon's unaligned teeth 😂
Scary to see how a plate of chicken rice now costs $5/- .
Good to know that there are places that sell $3/- for a decent plate.
that's only for tian tian
I’m very lucky to have a stall below my Blk that still sells it for $2.50. The uncle is a #legend
How about Qi Le
Nice... Please highlight more halal food stall in Singapore that represent authentic Singaporean dishes!
Salam from Indonesia 👍
Wee Nam Kee?
I think Wee Nam Kee is quite decent too :)
Tian Tian are surely OVER RATED !!!!!
Hammy The Hamster completely agree
You know their reviews are transparent when they said tian tian sucks.
White looks better
Wow, no Tong Fong Fatt? =\
tian tian is only suitable for the ang mohs la lol
1st?
The 925 one is not as good as it used to be :')
#mickeychen
Best chicken rice in Singapore = below average chicken rice in Malaysia.
I mean why wouldn’t chicken be halal right?
Boon Tong Kee serves the best chicken rice in town! It is Cantonese chicken, not Hainanese.
I Love Hainanese
Hainanese chicken rice is not from Hainan
2 years late but Yishun 925 is nah
