Let’s Make a Musical Class Performances (2024)

I am so proud of these 1-8th graders. In just five 35 minute class periods, they learned a new song, new dance, put them together, practiced, and performed their number. The way they all sing at the top of their lungs brings me so much joy.
My goal for “Let’s Make a Musical” class was to introduce them to musical theatre, build the coordination required to sing and dance at the same time, and to offer a low-stakes performance opportunity. Based on the amount of kids who told me they practiced their song at home, or watched their musical at home, I’d say mission accomplished.
I’ve loved musical theatre since I was their age, and I think I recruited tons of new fans this week.
