Goes around the shop... most that do this have some form of drop sheet set up to contain it to an area for the easy cleanup like you would spray paint.
The word I was waiting for is sublimation. That's the trick. I'm a hopeless geek. :-) I last encountered dry ice cleaning with semiconductor silicon wafers. They need to be CLEAN!
I've had fantastic luck with soda blasting. It worked wonders cleaning smoke stains off an engine from a bike that caught fire. I wonder how the two would compare, especially cost wise.
Great question. The base costs for the complete bike is $350 USD to have the bike fully detailed with ice blasting. That is normally an hour. Clean up is with a broom and dust pan.
That bike has 6,000 track miles on it and was only washed and cleaned. It was also crashed and not fully cleaned after that. It is also a 2017. Noted that I should have done some in depth footage prior to the cleaning.
@@catalystreactionsbw Hi Dave, I’m sure you use your bike like it was intended. I’d still like to see a 20 yr old courier bike cleaned this way. That would show you what it’s capable of. My old VFR800Fi for example…
@@Himoutdoors Agreed on the reality of a commuter that is a daily driver. I have a 1974 GT550 Suzuki that is in desperate need of this process. I found it and it needs a lot of work but it is filthy. I think this is an in person experience. You know what you brought in then you see what you get back. For a motorcycle that you are presenting for sale or a classic that you are restoring, this is a must.
It is and the cost is VERY high for all the equipment so you have to be 100% dedicated to this business to make it work. Biggest customers are riders selling bikes and car restoration.
is it eco friendly or something ? he cleaned two clean motorcycles, with something cool and presumably expensive, but but.. i don’t know yet if i’m dumbfounded or something else..
These dry ice cleaning units have been around for ages (same for the air compressor system). My company is now onto its third dry ice unit in 25 years. This video hypes it all up as “new technology”, when it’s not. Expensive yes, however the time savings it takes when cleaning equipment 80 metres long and 5 wide takes it from a two week job with 5 people down to 8 hours, two person.
Hi Marcus. Thanks for the history on this equipment. I had no idea it had been around that long. Agreed on time savings. Amazing how quickly you can work.
@@catalystreactionsbw Hi Dave, no problem, as most don’t as it is expensive. The person you featured is somewhat of a show off with overkill in everything. What he has for motorbikes is just another way of telling the world how much money he has. Hence why I mentioned the size of just one of many units it’s used to clean. The price of these machines and the whole setup is stupid insane. Explains the price to get just a motocycle cleaned lol
this channel is snake oil shit.
That's a nice process. Cheers Dave.
Where does the dirt go?
And the bike will stay clean as long as you don't ride it.
Looks briliant ! 👍👌
Just wonder… where goes the dirt?

More about the dryice, depending on the container, and your weather in your area, that big blue container could be gone in 4days to a week.
Huge clean up if you do not section off the cleaning area with plastic etc to "capture" all the debris and spent dry ice.
@@catalystreactionsbw the promotion video didn't have any plastic... Therfore the question ☝️😎😉

How much for a clean up like this?
I'm also pretty sure this is how they clean starships in the year 2422.
This bike is already clean af
It would be a lot easier to watch if the camera was in the right orientation
Seen this in the car world for awhile but never knew it was in the bike world already! awesome, looks satisfying as fuck

1. Film in landscape
2. If you’re demonstrating a cleaning system, clean a dirty bike…not a brand new one.
