HOW TO FIND PRECIOUS STONES IN ANY RIVER

  • In your opinion, when you look at a river like this, what do you see?
Well, if you don't see anything but water and a lot of ordinary stones, you should know that in the eyes of a professional prospector, this river is a great opportunity to find precious stones of the highest value.
    Now you may ask yourself.
But how does a prospector find these stones?
Well, the answer is easier than it seems, because in this video you'll see how it is possible to find gems in rivers.
That's right, especially if you live near a river, or if you like to go for walks in nature, near the water's edge.
Usually these places are full of small stones and minerals, and it's exactly in these places among the ordinary stones that you can find precious gems disguised as ordinary stones, so it's best to keep an eye out.

Thank you for this information! I’m in eastern New York and have found many semiprecious gems in a creek near me! Some of them are disguised as normal rocks, until you wet them! I’ve found a ton of garnet, different varieties of chert and jasper, quartz, sodium-rich plagioclase feldspar, labradorite, sunstone, and even pyrite!

If you go to Saranac Lake, there was a Moonstone Mine a few miles outside of town on Rt.3, but you can find them in the river too.

    Loved your video,
I live in Bethany, CT. I have a beautiful brook that runs length wise through my back yard. It is roughly eight feet wide and gets moving very fast after a rain storm. I have found some interesting stones on my property, even komatite with spinifix texture rocks. I just bought this 1935 property last Spring, now I am sure I will be spending time with a sifting pan so one day I could pay off the mortgage!

I'm an OBSESSIVE rockhound from Southern WI in the USA. I have more boxes of rocks than I ever have of money in pennies 😅 My parents used to go into my room and my pockets and take out the rocks when I wasnt home 😱... I even used to take my kids to the school playground just so i could look for awesome tiny rocks in the gravel there!! 😂I have found some INCREDIBLE things in school playgrounds! 😊

Don't be too obsessive tho. Learn to not take everything home is eventually where I got and with artifacts. I'll stash em somewhere neat in nature that won't likely be found. If I never get back there then they will remain hidden for someone to find in the future

Love this video.... Yes, anyone can find any gem stone, but it is all persistence, research, time, money and luck. You did not mention that "Down where the garnet goes, so to does the gold flow!" This is what my father taught me. Good luck prospectors and make sure to read all the fine print, get permissions first and watch your 6. Hugs from Esquimalt

My sister had a friend who had private beachfront property on Puget Sound, in Seattle. Because it wasn't frequented by beach-combers, she'd find amber almost every time she looked! After seeing this, I kinda wish i'd looked a bit closer while visiting. I have the Great Miami River (just south of Dayton) down the road from me, but I don't think it's too conducive to poking around for rocks -- it's got a pretty fast, deep current!

USA. Southern Illinois. To be a bit more precise. There are a few different things available here to find. Flourite would be our most popular, and one of the most prominent. Especially if you know where to go and even more so. If you got permission to be there. I myself just acquired such permission for 2 separate spots. As of last summer, and there are always the ones where nobody is supposed to be. Oldies but goodies. 😁

Cool video, depends on where you are located in the United States. I'm from NH and my claim is alluvial sand and clay packs from the retreat of the lorentide expansion. Anything that is found north in Canada can be found in alluvial deposits.
same with Montana, Idaho and Oregon and the great lakes region is a copper lovers dream.

    • @johnc.hammersticks
      @johnc.hammersticks 2 місяці тому +1

@kerrihansen2413 yes all the way to Connecticut. NH and Maine have alot of granite mountains so it settles in the northern mountains. Maine you will find tourmaline green beryl that is mediocre quality. If you are a diver and geologist the really deep parts of fast moving rivers you can find anything from corrundum, spinel, Garnet. Look for pink sand in the rivers sand bars. Also if you can access the sand pits on any of the power lines or open public land that go into low spots you can pick through sand and gravels. And you will find some stuff. I just found gem stilimite purple with white blue and yellow cats eye. Hard to find gem peices about 1 in 1000 peices. There is enough to have fun with not anything to take to the bank you would need mining permits to dig hard rock.

I'm from northern NSW, Australia. I used to bring shiny stones home after a day's work mustering our sheep or cattle and very rarely got home without one too. I filled the mantlepiece with my collection. I never did anything with them back then but have really been excited of late to explore more and learn what they all are and mean. This was great info. Thanks for sharing. I'll be definitely searching rivers around me. Good luck everyone.

The Philippines, I saw a lot of gemstones in the past but just ignored seeing them at their current status. I know you know what I mean. Now will be back on those rivers, again :)
