This was a monumental moment for us metal heads back in the day! My friends and I went to see this at the theater when it came out, and they stopped the cameras as this song played during the credits. We revolted and started throwing our drinks and popcorn at the camera booth and yelling,” Turn it back on!!! You don’t stop when Dokken is playing!!!” And they turned it back on!!! Just for that moment… We had won!😂
I had the dream warriors cassingle remember those lmao!
@@markgiordonello6710I was alive but a toddler at the time. A cassingle sounds cool and definitely would be a very cool collectible today. A vaguely remember cassettes with cheap paper sleeves as samplers and such 👍
And then after this, George became a fricking body builder and was HUGE! He was in Muscle and Fitness mags and everything....
Should do Heaven Sent from Dokken. It has a little Halloween feel to it with them singing in a graveyard.
One of my favorites. That guitar solo kills.
Lynch's solo on that is just beautiful and savage all in one , The tone George and Jake E Lee had back then was insane .
First song I ever heard from them and it immediately made me a fan of them. Great songs and with similar vibes to this one.
Sexiest guitar solo😮💨
Burch needs to Unlock some "Under lock and Key" Dokken
Absolutely love that album when it first came out. Remember listening to only Under lock and Key on my Walkman for about 6 months. Then again I also spent months listening exclusively to Iron Maidens Powerslave on its release.
George Lynch said that they were all doing bumps of coke off Freddy's razor fingers during the making of this video. 😁
One of my favorite jams back in ‘87
Dream Warriors is my favorite Dokken song. You could have the Halloween decorations up for the whole month of October. I love this video. Bc it's like they're Freddy Krueger's nightmare😂.
Such a classic. So excited for this. I still think you had to live it (the 80's) to fully appreciate it. Glad I did😊
Dokken "Beast from the East" was the first tape I bought through that 12 for a penny company.
Don's voice back then was epic, he could hit the high notes for sure, we saw him about two years ago though and it was sad listening to him and we ended up leaving early, so did many others. Father time had caught up with Don.
For the making of this video, they had Robert Englund and Patricia Arquette film original footage.
The first show I worked as backstage Security at Hard Rock Live in Orlando was the Dokken, Slaughter, Poison and Cinderella show on 9/3/2000. I got to Rock with Dokken and party with the bands in their dressing rooms and on the tour buses after the gig. 🤘
Helloween the German Power Metal band has many great songs.
Cool movie A Nightmare on Elm Street has imo a great original villian *Freddy Krueger.* Also introduces a very young Johnny Depp.
The solo in this song was the reason I bought and started playing guitar! 🤘
Not my all time favorite song by the band, but definitely in the top 5!
You outta give the theme from Nightmare 4. "Love Kills" by the Vinnie Vincent invasion a listen I think you'll like that too.
I believe that is already recorded. Should be posted in a few days. That's what Burch said on the live show Tuesday.
Halloween means listening to "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo!
almost have to do WASP "scream until you like it" now (ghoulies)
one of my favorite dokken songs of all time..and the hunter lol
I love almost everything they did. My favorite band growing up.
Actually in nightmare it makes sense why people do stupid things because they are dreaming and you can't really control your dreams
Alice Cooper - He's Back (the man behind the mask) is another awesome one for your Halloween edition.
I didnt see the movie til it was out on video & my parents rented it. At the end of the movie was this music video. And that is how I discovered Dokken. 🤣
We didnt own a VCR but the rental place rented those out too.
Thier bus broke down outside of Ottawa IL so while it was getting fixed the played a free concert it was awesome for an impromptu concert
Alone again is a great song by Dokken. My father showed me that.. so good
Awesome jam yeah, Friday the 13th came out in Jr high saw at the movie, DOKKEN kick butt Dream Warrior's 🎤🎸🎸🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥👍😎👌
That was Spooktacular, It's awesome to be, Rockin with Dokken.
Halloween? Fastway - "Trick or Treat"
That would have been considered weak "metal" back then.
The movie which featured me ch heavier metal would be "River's Edge" with Keanu Reeves. It has Slayer and Hallows Eve playing on screen.
But the first movie to have what would be considered Metal has to be the animated movie, "Heavy Metal."
As it featured Black Sabbath and other similar bands.
Shocker soundtrack and Dangerous Toys Demon Bell would be great for this series!
Underrated soundtrack. Bonfire/Kiss Sword and Stone is an excellent song
@@ellisonlowrimore7751 I love the Awakening by Voodoo X too
Megadeth, No More Mr. Nice Guy just to watch Dave Mustaine perform completely strung out on drugs.
I saw Dokken back in 2005 in a club called The Underworld, Camden, London. Awesome gig, and they've played this song too.
Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath" is an epic sounding Halloween song
That one really scared parents. This song was almost funny how cheesey it was.
Best Horror movie song ever. Best Dokken song too.
Ah yes, the time Freddy Krueger was defeated by the power of ROCK
The Dokken new album kicks butt 9 out of the 10 tracks is legit didn't care much on the last song on the album but 9 songs are great about 4 songs makes the album complete
This song was the them song of the Nightmare on Elmstreet III movie, so all the creepy footage is from the actual movie and were fit into the music video. The scene when the guitar player come out of the wall is identical in the movie except that it is Freddy that comes out of the wall. You have to watch the movie to see all the parallels made between the music video and the movie. The funny part where Freddy wakes up and says what a nightmare is funny because in the movies Freddy goes into the dream of the kids who sleeps and creates the nightmare!
I take it that you didn't watch the reaction at all
@@flickeringboxofficial I wrote it half way through and saw that your talked about that at the end but I had written my comment already!
It's cool, that happens quite a bit. Not everyone stays around for our commentary. As they are fond of saying, "we talk to much"🤣😂😁 Hope ya liked the reaction. @@bartender678
everytime i hear or see Dokken i get flashbacks to the old Norton antivirus commercial :D "image your computer is this chicken, and the 80's heavy metal band Dokken is a computervirus. Dokken doesn't like chicken, and wants to destroy it." :D
Coincidentally Patricia Arquette who was in this music video went on to play in the TV show Medium where her character had premonitions in her dreams.
If I'm not mistaken the little girl on the tricycle was in the RATT video for Lay It Down also
Vinnie Vincent Invasion have a song and video for one of those films too.
One, two
Freddie's comin' for you
Three, four
Better lock your door
Five, six
Get your crucifix
Seven, eight
Gonna stay up late
Nine, ten
Never dream again...
The best movie of the entire franchise!
I don't remember where I read it but I read that guitar was destroyed in a fire
I love the relaxed birch (clothing)
Scooby Doo where are you!
I saw Nightmare 3 in the theater at age 6! It's like the first movie I remember seeing (the first I actually saw is Richard Pryor: Live On The Sunset Strip because my parents couldn't find a babysitter). You have to remember Kristen was dreaming when she walked into the house. In fact, aside from Nancy's family and Jesse's family, I don't recall anyone going into the house through all of the movies except in Freddy's Dead when Tracy, Spencer, Carlos, John Doe and Maggie go inside, but in their defense, it first appeared as a different house. Kristen was dreaming when she went in. In part 4, even her mom says "get the hell away from that house".
What a great video to kick off Halloween week with and Freddy Krueger's "who are those guys" line at the end is classic. Can't wait to see what's next. 🙌✌️
Should do
Some Fastway from Trick or Treat! I wore that soundtrack out back in the day!
I remember this music video was featured on the VHS for Nightmare on Elm Street 3. Absolutely enjoyed the song and was so ready for the movie right after
Ozzy’s “Shot in the Dark” video, and agree with Fastway and “Trick or Treat” movie and/or OST. Another fun movie would be the Rankin/Bass “Mad Monster Party”
New Don “Dokken “Drops this Friday. Just in time to blast for Halloween
Surely there will be some Type O Negative for Halloween.
For Halloween should consider reacting to Queensryche's "Walking in the Shadows"
Gotta do Dangerous Toys and their song "Scared". Great track even though it's not in a movie soundtrack. "Scared" is still a great Halloween rocker!!!!
Thnx guys, this was a very good start of a series! You got a new subscriber...
Recently I listened to an interview with George Lynch in which he said that between takes he and Robert Englund were snorting coke off of one of the razor fingers in Freddy's glove. He got so high it took many takes for him to burst through a wall that a 5 year old girl could have went through.
*George Lynch* is a real beast of a guitar player 😎🤘
The lack of Rockin with Dokken comments is unsettling 😂😂😂😂
Whenever I hear this song, I remember getting pulled over in my friends 65 Nova and the cops taking our bottles of everclear and night train and calling our parents to come pick us up. My girlfriend babysat for one of the cops and guess what later turned up at his house? Yep, our everclear and night train.
Surprise, suprise, suprise :)
I'd love to see you react to "Princes Of The Universe" by Queen from the 1986 film *HIGHLANDER* 🗡, which also featured the star of the movie interacting with band👍
One of my all-time favorite Dokken songs. I loved when you said it was shaping them up for only another year and a half. That cracked me up.
Great song I think her 80's conversion is nearly complete
If your into Halloween you have to do Trick or Treat from Fastaway, title song for the Movie Trick or Treat!!
If you’re gonna do Halloween you gotta do Scared by Dangerous Toys!
Not 80s, but what's a Halloween without a little Smashing Pumpkins?
Wow I like how they altered the Freddy worm scene and had the guy come out the wall. That was some great editing
EXCELLENT SONG A++
Dokken said at the time ppl were asking if Freddy Krueger was in Dokken now?
I went to see Dokken concert with a few other well known bands and was very bummed that this song was not on there playlist but yet a great concert none the less and the lead singer could hit the high notes still without any straining on his vocal cords.
I have a couple suggestions. Scream Until You Like It by W.A.S.P from Ghoulies 2 and Bring Your Daughter by Iron Maiden or Bruce Dickinson whichever version from Nightmare 5
I still jam this song on the regular, so much so that my 12yr old daughter is now a fan. Thanks for doing this one and keep up the great videos guys!!
My 10 year old niece loves this as well
Dream Warriors is one of my favorite songs by Dokken and A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors is my favorite movie in the franchises.
Highly "UNDERRATED" band 😞 been a fan since 84's Tooth and Nail was released but never got to see them till 96's Dysfunctional tour. Was a smaller club, not an arena, with original lineup and was probably one of the best shows ever 🤘 think about doing a reaction to "DOKKEN Alone Again (live)" , is the long version 7:22 👍
I can't read these "underrated" comments anymore. Every single music related video on YT has clow... people of your kind in the comment section. Dokken sold millions of records, produced three platinum albums in a row and had a guitarist that was in every guitar-magazine at that time. Tell me how this is HIGHLY UNDERRATED. Dokken did not have albums that were filled with awesome songs, like some other bands had. Three to four solid songs on one album at the most. And Dokken split up several times.
What about Bonfire - Sword and Stone from the Shocker movie (soundtrack). Maybe even Crazy Lixx - 'XIII' from the Friday the 13th video game soundtrack.
Yes!
These songs seemed heavier when I listened to them in the 80s. Lol
Short List
Dream Theater - Pull Me Under
Corrosion of Conformity - Albatross(Favorite Band)
Motley Crue - Hooligans Holiday
WASP - I wanna be somebody
Motley Crue's "Hooligan's Holiday" seems to be not very well known. I discovered it a couple years ago, and I have it on one of my riding playlists.
Maybe Dangerous Toys Scared? Type O Negative? Ghost?
I remember when the VHS came out, I was so ticked off because they replaced Into the Fire, when Kristen turns on the radio to stay wake with a different song from another New Line film, Quiet Cool. They finally corrected it on the dvds. Also, strangely enough, the EP soundtrack they put out didn't have Into the Fire on it either. It was Dream Warriors, the unreleased song Back for the Attack (which became the title of their next album, but didn't include this song) and an edited version of Paris is Burning.
One of those songs that had a strong smell of both cheese and hairspray 😆
Please say you're planning on doing He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask) by Alice Cooper from Friday the 13th part...IV? It fits the Halloween theme so well and is such a good companion piece to Dream Warriors.
Or teenage Frankenstein from the same era .
@@RozCannistraro-zd9do That's a great one too.
Next should be Alice Cooper's Man Behind the Mask from Friday the 13th
Halloween by King Diamond is a good one.
Other great movies…..
The Lost Boys
Fright Night
American Werewolf In London
Hellraiser
Trick or Treat from 1986 as well!
lol this Album was the first one i ever bought with my own money. I walked out the mall feeling like a boss.
I remember this then. I went to the movie with my sister and her friends. The song was epic..Still epic.
She's gotta do nightmare 1 so she can see Johnny Depp's first film!!
Soooooooo,,,,,when are we going to get to Tesla?????? I would also love to see reactions to Joan Jett, CCR, Aerosmith and Def Leppard.
This song was awesome back in the day...still great now
I love this video, pure 80's and I love every minute of it. I was raised on the Nightmare series and yes there are plenty of warts but I love em all.
When I was in high school, the stoner guys mistook my last name (Dawkins), for Dokken. They were always asking me for autographs, merch and tickets.
And if the girl asked, "ummmm, oh yea, yes, Don is my uncle" :)
@@flickeringboxofficial if I'd had enough confidence in my lying skills, I'd probably have gone for it!!
After not practicing guitar for for a about 2 weeeks, I put in a good solid hour of killing my fingertips and put my guitar away.
Then you post this reaction and somehow it just magically appeared again, so now my fingertips feel like Freddy burned them. Thanks alot.
George is one of my all time favorite guitar players and I really enjoy playing (attempting) to play some of the Dokken songs. I know I'll never be able to even come close to his speed and style in his solo's but I can still learn alot practing to them.
You guys should check out He's Back by Alice Cooper now. Part VI is definitely my favorite Friday the 13th movie.
That one is loaded and ready to drop on Thursday
I remember getting this on cassette single! And the video is amazing!
Does she know that in Knightmare they didn't have a choice?
Love it.🤘
I loved Dokken as a kid, I wanted to be in a band like them. 🤣
Saw this movie in the theaters. Dokken's last stand together before the breakup.
