I have a gray 19' 4runner TRD ORP and I love this truck, very capable in stock form , which mine is right now. I never once thought that an SR5 was less than capable. I got the ORP because of the extra features. That's all. But in the end, I would have been happy with a SR5 if I didnt have any other choice. Regardless, you can modify any trim if you have endless amounts of money..
What!? This is illegal! You can’t do that with an SR5, you need atleast a 4 inch lift, 40 inches tires, bumper/rear bumper cut off and armour on un-needed amount of jerry cans all over the vehicle and atleast 20 LED bars!?!?!!$8:&3@:,!;!4!:!! All jokes aside you killed it with the SR5!! 💪♥️
This gives me great confidence! I recently purchased a 2015 SR5 4R and it’s stock bare bones, no center locker. Just ATRAC and 4H/L. Great video and I’ll have to agree with others, it’s refreshing to see a clean SR5 doing everything and then some when people are crawling pavement in TRDOF/PRO trims.
I appreciate this educational video, I purchased a 2021 4runner Premium this summer, it the a-trac, down hill assist. As the other comments state, it's good to see a package like this being put thru it's paces!👍
I just bought my 2015 SR5 yesterday and am in LOVE, I can’t wait to get her off the pavement and get her dirty like this! Thank you for this, great video.
Thank you. Bought a 2021 SR5 premium and after watching all the UA-cam Channel owners with their TRD Off Road Pros + $20k further investment, thought that my stock version may not be very capable until I saw this!!! Thank you for making my day!!
I saw this video last summer, just before I purchased the same year and trim level you have. It helped sell me on the SR5. I had mine in a lot of snow and ice this last winter, including a few spots that I probably should not have been in. Made it through in 4 low. But I think I discovered the 4wd limits of my stock Bridgestone tires. Putting all-terrain 265/70R17s tires on this summer.
Man I would still get an SR5 and get it lifted. I got a 3 inch lift with Fox coil overs and rear Fox shocks and it handles like a completely different truck.
Very impressive. I was trying to decide between a TRD or a SR5 premium. This video basically just made my mind up. I will take the extra luxuries in that SR5 and the lower price tag.. Excellent job.

I purchased a 2022 Toyota 4runner TRD off road premium Barcelona Red with upgraded pro wheels and skid plates. Black out Emblems. Upgraded tires BF Goodrich KO2's. Any 4runner is a beast. I choose this trim simply for the day to day driver. I will admit the off road tech is pretty impressive.. so many modifications are a possibility. What's important..we keep the tradition alive. For me there is not a better truck anywhere in the world!!

I thought you needed a 700,000 pound winch, rock sliders, full underbody armor, 100,00,000 watt led light bars, special massive round custom color wheels and tires, in truck generator, freezer box, CB system with communications tower, a roof rack that can hold an elephant, steel bumpers front and rear to hold gasoline cans and a little latter to climb on the roof. Glad I left mine stock. 😁

Stock 2016 sr5 something special package I don’t recall. Only change was BFG KO2. Goes everywhere I need it to go. Lots of fire foods and desert areas for camping. Just bring traction boards and a shovel, plenty food ,water, a good high end gps with Topo map, compass and a satellite phone.

I just bought my 2020 4Runner trd off road premium and i love it. I took it wheeling and no one thought i could do what the rest of the built trucks could do. I did everything they did but better and i had street tires no Mts or ats. I got this trim because it suited me. The pro gets too much hype. I wanted to keep my KDSS the pro doesn’t come equipped with it. Either way with the extra money you wouldn’t have to pay for a pro, you could use to build your 4Runner your way
Emily :wow ,ok ,i got the 2021 off road premium with KDSS and its amazing stability .. do you have a lift on yours ? For you, people who are giving the SR5 nonstop praise which, in many ways, it deserves, you have to notice that in several of these obstacles, they put down traction boards in order for this vehicle to get through the hardest parts. Take a look.

Sparks Glencoe Your right...a couple of front and rear lockers and you’ve got yourself a TRD Tank.
This dude needs more upvotes, Unfortunately this generation we see more mall crawlers 4runners.
Dude, how many 5th gen do you come across in 35s? I've probably seen 3 so far. Mostly 32s are quite common.
Running an SR5 harder than any TRD on UA-cam . Well done 👍

Thank you for proving you don’t have to dump $10-$30K on upgrades or that you have to have a TRD to go off-road with a 4Runner!!!
Ikr!!! SR5 IS THE WAY TO GO FOLKS!
My SR5 rocks anywhere his would do a hundred times better if he just got a little bit better tires

All Toyo SR5 are tougher than any other fancy model. In Africa we mostly prefare the Sr5 models they have fewer things to break down
I have to 2014 it's a beast!
This is some of the best SR5 4x4 content ive seen on youtube. Keep it coming! we need more of this.
dsmith10186 thanks, I really appreciate that.
Nicely done! Best part is 2:08 when the atrac kicks in and the front left tire is up in the air. Unstoppable! Way to go SR5.

Thank you.
This, an air compressor, an a winch is all I need. Thanks for posting

best 4x4 off roading video so far especially since everything looks stocked lol is it all stock? lol
Honey Badger drives an SR5, and he don't give a fuuuuuuuck!
I recently bought my first, 2018 SR5 (premium) thanks for making an awesome video on the SR5!!! So happy with my purchase.
I’m in a the market for a 4Runner TRD OR and this video convinced me to just get AT tires for it and don’t bother with any lift 😂
Man I would still get an SR5 and get it lifted. I got a 3 inch lift with Fox coil overs and rear Fox shocks and it handles like a completely different truck.

I have a SR5 on the way, but because the market sucks in the Gulf South, a SR5 base is $50,000...but a TRD Pro is close to $65,000!
@@51Yeti that’s outrageous!! I was able to get a 2017 4x4 for $33k OTD out here in Cali

Japanese engineering and design at its best. Why bother messing with a good thing. It came free with the vehicle. 🤔
Yeah...I have a 3rd gen. Put a 3 inch lift on it and be mind fucked. Forget stock. Wanna have real fun.. lift it! 😁👍
Correction it’s actually Toyota engineering at its best, don’t expect a Nissan,Honda or Mitsubishi to do this

Besides the suspension, off road controls, and interior. SR5 is no different than a TRD or PRO. Still same engine and power.
Acatl33 and same ATRAC
You can always add a locker, but those are used so rarely might as well save your money 💰atrac is close enough
Rear locker and crawl control with selectable terrain are the only real performance differences. The TRD interior is nice but not needed.
