This serves a huge whiplash to the majority of the game, After you spent the entire game trying to free K Lumsy and managed to save DK Isles; the moment we step into K Rool's ship to get back at him, we're suddenly treated a comically rigged boxing match where K Rool gets beaten in all sorts of hilarious ways.
@@kip258 No, it’s pure laziness. There are no rights issues. Nintendo owns everything Donkey Kong - even the stuff made by Rare. Music, characters, everything. That was the terms of the split with Rare. DK Rap has been in since Melee and Jungle Japes appears in the game. These songs should be in but they’re not because Nintendo is lazy.
@@Mr__JackThat version of the DK Rap isn’t made by Rare though, it’s a remix. And not even that good in comparison. There isn’t even a clear acapella of it anywhere. Screw Kongo Jungle.
At around 1:45, I always imagined, grabbing onto a rope or vine and making a huge swing while making a rescue or escape as this part of the music place.
I find it very humorous how throughout the entire game, K. Rool was this evil villain. Traveling to DK Isles to destroy the whole island with the Blast-o-Matic, hard punishing his servants that couldn’t defeat the Kongs, and even locking his brother, K. Lumsy in prison. And yet, all he wanted was a simple game of Punch-Out in the end.
I love it in videogames when the final boss has a more dynamic, epic and serious version of the Game over theme, like playtime is over and serious business is beginning. Happens here, and in games like Touhou 10.

I love rares soundtracks on the 64 such hype music jet force gemini is the same so hype!!! Ive also got a feeling a lot of the darker music seems to have a danny elfman influence specifically his batman score i dont know maybe i just like that score and here it everywhere.
Who the heck is criticizing the music because it sounds like banjo kazooie? Nevr heard that as a critique, It's the same composer and its both by rare, what do you expect? Lol
This song played in my head during the Tyson vs Paul fight.
While we didn’t know it at the time, looking back, this theme is an epic sendoff to Rare’s era of DK games.

It's a sin that this song isn't in Smash. I want to fight K-Rool in Punch-Out Arena with this song!
IKR? Huge missed opportunity there. The DK 64 OST gets no love compared to the country games.
@@Fractorification I can only assume it was another hassle with rights, but with Banjo being in maybe they just didn't think about it.

DK64 in general doesn’t get any love from Nintendo compared to the country games, really sucks cuz i love this game. It’s not even on NSO yet

I really love the Touhou series! Thank you!

Damn I never noticed that before
1:20 best part
2:27 one of my favorite chords of all time, it's very Mars
This one gave me so many, banjo tooie vibes
It is missing the low horns and brass stabs, and the tone is different.
i know right! itsa giving mayhem temple vibes. same person composed both soundtracks
The game came before Banjo Tooie so you might say this could be music that defined some of the next game's soundtracks

Good track, though I do agree with the criticism. It’s too similar to Banjo-Kazooie.
"Too similar to Banjo Kazooie", of course same composer, but even so, what's the problem there? Banjo Kazooie music rocks!
