- Making a rawhide backed black locust bow from scratch.
This one was inspired by the bows used by American Natives. The bow ended up drawing 50lb at 26" (53,5" ntn). I'm really happy with the result of this project! Shoots sweet!

10 years ago I was an apprentice plumber in central NY state. I worked under a half Polish half Italian 50 year old Journeyman named Jerry. He would call people "modoc" as an insult. lol 🤣🤣 he taught me alot

How many inches is that bow from nock to nock? How long was draw length?
The bow is 53,5" ntn, draws 50lb at 26"
did you modify your knife to use it as a card scrapper? I tried using the back of my knife and it didn't work. I was going to file it but I'd like to know how you do it first, thank you!
This knife was designed for bow making and for scraping. It was made by friendly knife-maker. But I think you could do it with a normal knife, but to be honest I don't really know how. Thank you for the comment!
@@DreamcraftBows thank you for the reply, I'll try to modify mine and I'll let you know if it worked out!
What machete do you use?
