    As the winner - I must say I did find a decent set of settings that makes the handling much more consistent at speed on the road. Not doing tracks - so I'm happy. My 1125CR made just a bit more torque and about 30 more hp at about 35 more pounds - it handled better - quick mid turn corrections no problem, however both my singles and the MT09 like a soft guiding hand and any corrections to be done gently but deliberately. My back road to church ride is fun. So I am using it a bit like Spite suggested - lol - Thanks for the fun!

    I've had my 2018 MT-09 for almost 2 years now, bought brand new and now have 3,4XX miles on it.. and I smile every time I ride it! I also installed a power commander, K&N, and full-M4 exhaust ... it screams down the street w/o the baffle! I'm still scared to ride in "A" mode. AS you said, standard mode is plenty for city streets and some back roads. I also ride with traction control on "1". Good times... Highly recommend the M4 full exhaust, I used the same brand for my ZX-6R, better sound than Akrapovic for 1/2 the price!

    2016 FZ-09 rider here. I have since transformed mine into a sport tour/mild ADV bike with full luggage, a zx6rr rear shock, ebay titanium headers back exhaust, and shinko 705 dual sport tires. The widest shinko 705 tire you can get is in a 170. I haven't seen anyone else really try this combination online and I must say I think it transformed the bike into something special. Future upgrades are going to include Andreani fork cartridges and possible a skid plate. This bike isn't about nuance. It about fun and I'd a solid platform to make into whatever you want.

    I had one of these for a while, it handled like an overweight walrus UNTIL I got the suspension set up for my weight, on the stock suspension that is.
    Some "racing expert" tried to set it up the first time, I felt no difference.
    The second time some random dude at "the snake" did some adjustments for a couple of minutes, and it was handling like magic.
    Finally I was feeling like Rossi again!

    Hey man, love the video! I have a 2019 MT09 SP with the golden KYB fork and the Öhlins rear shock over here in Germany. Already put 30.000 Km on it (about 18k miles).
    And I had the same impression with its mid-corner-stability. You had to work a little with the handlebars to keep it where you wanted it. But that totally disappeared when I changed tires from the stock S20 Bridgestones to a Pirelli Angel GT II. Now it is stable during the turns whlie still fast and easy to lean. Try it. Still fast and sporty enough for the street and you can put a few miles on it, too.
    So my recommendation for a new tire would be that one. Another cool upgrade would be a handlebar that's a bit lower and more straight. So your hand position moves a bit forward and you automatically have a little more weight on the front end. Gives you more feedback and confidence during turns.
    Unfortunately, the design of the new MT09 doesn't work for me at all. Not only the ugly, uuughly cyclops eye for a headlight that's mounted way to high, but also the middle section around the seat and air filter box. So that's how I might outgrow the MT09 in the future: Moving to the new MT10 instead of cyclops master of dork. ;-D
    Keep it going, cheers from Europe. (no worries, I will not participate in the giveaway)

    maybe a comparison between the XSR900 and the MT09 is something to do?

    • @timothyyoung8138
      @timothyyoung8138 3 роки тому +2

      I agree. I ride a XSR900. I personally think the looks are spot on for its performance. Neither the mt09 or the XSR900 are sport bikes imho the xsr900 looks better for its role. Commuter, leisure, even occasional track the mt09 is more aggressive looking. Either way both bikes are badass.

    @yammienoob i ride a 2014 fz09 and per instructions from Dave Moss, he advises bringing the forks up through the triple tree 10mm and putting 10w oil in the shocks if rebound is to fast. That geometry change might give you a bit sportier feel that you seem to be looking for. Personally i'll be running 15w oil in my forks, but i'm not sure how newer forks are set up. Maybe for a bigger mod do the zx6r rear shock swap, should make for a good video.

    Would like to hear a mention of the Tracer 900 as different or same, right about the same time you mention the difference between MT09 and a track bike. Different? Same? Can we make Tracer GT work on both long distance and track, or do we have to give up for the FJR? (If we can't do both on one machine, for now I have to drop track and choose a tourer my wife will get on, and she wants a couch.)

  • @Fearless154
    @Fearless154 3 роки тому +1

    I owned the 2017 model and I hated it. Don't get me wrong it's a fun bike but it doesn't feel right. it wants you to pull the throttle hard but it's highly unstable and wobbles like crazy under hard acceleration which is not very confidence-inspiring and as far as comfort goes it pretty meh the stock seat feels like a wooden plank. It's not a good sportbike and it's not a good tourer. If you want a supermoto just get supermoto and if you want great and cheap mid-weight naked just get z900 I think it's a better bike for what it trying to do.
