Roger Clemens needs to be talked about
I was shocked he didn’t at least get an honorable mention
best splitter in the history of baseball
At least the broken bat incident was in the intro
I don’t like A-Rod that much but when he yelled “mine” on the pop fly, that’s pretty hilarious.
Ty Cobb is an interesting case but I will say that some of the stories come from one guy who hated him. He then waited till he passed to write "true stories" about him smearing his name. Sure he wasn't the best guy out that but many of the bad stories really need to be examined closer. Also he advocated for the spikes to be dulled so they did less damage.
I wish more people knew that almost every story we heard about him being an asshole was made up by one guy on a mission to destroy his name.
OK, a lot of Cobb stories about him being an asshole came out while Cobb was still alive. He didnt fight a lot of people for various reasons AFTER he died, he didnt make racist comments to multiple people after he died. Look at the photos of him sliding, he's going in spikes up literally a foot from the catcher. Yeah, all this bad stories are due to 1 guy. Maybe that guy made him look worse, but Cobb was a bad human before anything was said after his death.
Cobb got a bad rap
@C4m4r0 exactly that same guy also made him out to be an extreme racist as well even though when the color barrier was broken he saw no issue with it and said they should be able to play as well.
The guy that made this video is a perfect example of today's media. He does absolutely no research,.and just depends on the word of someone else.
Machado is definitely disliked. I personally dislike him after he dragged his foot over Jesus Aguilar's ankle in the 2018 NLCS. But I feel like someone who isn't remembered as being hated is Carlos Gomez. Dude caught heat for being cocky
At least Machado started acting more mature when he signed for the Padres. But he was insufferable during his pre-Padres days.
@@bonzobonanza fair point
Ruined Dustin Pedroia’s career
Tbf to A-Rod, yelling "mine" or "I got it" is funny af and a good play imo as a runner
Heck yeah! Gotta know your teammates voice over the other team's players.
What do u mean as a runner you only pinch run or something
@@Baseballify A-Rod was running; he was the runner I was referring to. So, I think that Arod, insofar as he was a runner, was playing it smart. It's a bit of a dirty play but I'm all for it if it isn't against the rules
Love the content man! Couldn't help but notice that you put 1998 MVP on the Canseco graphic. Small details. No biggie. Keep up the awesome work man. You have a wealth of knowledge for a younger guy and the upward inflection of your voice keeps viewers interested in your videos. \m/
i like his content but his upward inflection annoys me, i just push through most of his videos
@LeglessLion his shaking of his head annoys me
Ty so much for pointing out how Ty cobb was unfairly portrayed. When I was younger I saw the movie, I read Al stumps book and loved learning about this reckless man. A hard playing, no nonsense leave it all on the field player yet was a bigger monster off the field. Then the internet came about, and I got more of the same information and then some, a lot of it contradicting what I thought was fact and Charles Leerhsens captivating book came out and my mind was blown and I stand firmly that this man should be as iconic to baseball in a good way like a babe ruth, who also wasnt perfect but is still a beloved member of this amazing game.
Somebody needs to write a good hit piece on Al Stump
Milton Bradley, Carl Everett, Jose Offerman. Oh, and Jeff Kent, too. Bonds just took away most of the attention while Kent was a Giant.
Milton Bradley was a psycho
Bryce Harper would be a good one, as well as the other side of the argument that says he's underrated.
A-Rod yelling “mine” rounding 3rd is honestly just genius gamesmanship
Failing to mention Stan Musial in your most loved section of the introduction was a miss.
I really like the new way you’re making vids. Well done man
Yelling ‘mine!!’ by Arod was just smart 😂😂😂
PEDs are not the main reason people dislike a player, look at David ortiz or Andy Pettitte, they did peds and people still like them. But if a player is a jerk and egotistical, then peds just make it worse for them
The way the media decides to portray a player has more to do with public perception than the actual player. Many players have a good image who aren't the best people.
You should probably make an entire video on Ty Cobb, because it was only after his death that the slandering began.
IMO the first two names that come to mind are Roger Clemens and Chris Sale. Although I'm probably biased against them being a Tigers fan.
The entire 2017 Astros will always be booed no matter what team they’re on
And us stros fan. Will always cheer loud. Cheat 2 win bay bay 😂
@@chrisakane9840 🤡
wahhhhhhhhhhh
Blue Jays fans love Springer.
Braves fans love Charlie Morton.
Twins fans love Correa.
Starting to see your argument fall apart.
@@flacogonz13 what about gurriel
Great video
Man, this is something. Want to add in the list Mel Hall, Chad Curtis, Vince Coleman, Milton Bradley, Rogers Hornsby, Jonathan Papelbon, Carlos Zambrano, Nyjer Morgan, etc.
The Cleveland Indians had a Ty Cobb day
Good Vid
8:00 IIrc, the guy was basically called Cobb a half-breed and wouldn't shut up. And as you may be able to guess from the other incident, Cobb didn't like one bit.
2:57 - I can understand this but the whole "sanctity of the hall" thing falls apart when you realize Cap Anson, one of baseball's premier racists, is in the hall. Gambling is nowhere near as bad as working to remove a marginalized group of people from the sport.
Also the cheating argument falls apart when Gaylord Perry, an admitted cheater (spitball usage), is in the hall
If A.J. Hinch has moved on to manage the Detroit Tigers, and Alex Cora has moved on to manage the Boston Red Sox, then Carlos Beltran should be given the same courtesy and allow him to be rehabilitated in the Baseball Community. All of them were part of the Astros scandal.
Jose Altuve is one of the other most hated baseball player
Gotta do another one to talk about Zambrano
I was at a Tigers spring training game against the Pirates the day I decided I was NOT a fan of Bonds. There were only a handful of people at the game- I’d say less than 10. And he refused to even acknowledge the fans, much less say hello or maybe even a quick autograph.
He had social anxiety. But hate him if it makes you feel better.
Never said I hated the man, just that I wasn't a fan. If he did have social anxiety, that definitely wouldn't endear him to fans. @@NatTurnerswitBurnerz
Ty Cobb had that dawg in him
They hate you because they ain't you
I love your channel bro. Keep it up
Zambrano has to be up there.
Definitely need to talk about Machado
Josh Hamilton for me. Never liked him, drug addict with a history of relapsing, abused his daughter, I’ve seen videos of him refusing to sign autographs and he killed a guy when he threw him that ball and he fell to his death.
I dislike Hamilton too but let's be fair, that last one wasn't his fault. The Rangers not installing protective netting in that gap between the fence and the wall was to blame for that man's death.
That was the fan's fault. You don't lean over something from high up for a stupid Baseball. The fan caused his own death from being stupid
I think his ex wife was on a show about cougars hooking up with younger dudes.
Love the face cam!
There's a few who could have made this list for sure - Roger Clemens, Manny Machado, Trevor Bauer immediately spring to mind - but I doubt many would disagree with any of the names mentioned here.
Surprised Altuve wasn’t here even though he did nothing wrong
Two of the most hated players ever are two of my favorite players A-Rod and Barry. I absolutely love both of em!
i can understand barry but why a-rod???? hes such a douche
Your high rising terminAL is insufferabLE.
You're going to get down voted for speaking the truth. He won't change. Might even delete your comment like he has to others in the past. It's insane he won't try to change
As a Yankee fan A-Rod takes the cake for being the most hated player overall both on and off the field.
Roger Clemens
Papelbon
I love Canseco
Honestly the calling mine whilst rounding the bases one is just awesome not hate able to be honest.
Do you have a hockey channel?
Curt Schilling! He's an interesting case. His reputation seemed pretty good while he was playing, but it's gone downhill from there. His scam video game company and unhinged twitter rants really damaged his reputation, but when he revealed Tim Wakefield's cancer diagnosis without permission, it completely destroyed whatever goodwill people had for him, for good reason
Do a video on players who weren't very good in terms of mlb, yet still had a long career. The Doug Dascenzos of the world.
Mic discipline is drastically better this time, good work!
As a Cubs fan, A. J. Pierzynski when on the White Sox can EAD!
Edit: I wrote that before seeing the honorable mentions. Well done sir! lol
Most beloved current(last 20 years) and beloved older player (over 20 years) for each team
It's hard to believe you didn't mention Kirby Puckett as a beloved player. That's crazy dude.
John Rocker
Should make an exception and have angel Hernandez on here
Jose Bautista should be on here. Brotha could not get an mlb contract because 2/3 of teams did not like him
For anyone who often chooses to forget, the 5th requirement for eligibility in the HoF as outlined by the BBWAA states "Voting shall be based upon the player’s record, playing ability, INTEGRITY, SPORTSMANSHIP, CHARACTER, and contributions to the team(s) on which the player played."
It's kind of crazy to not let bonds in the hall of fame. Most of them were juiced to the gills at that time and he was the best of them....by far. Let him in.
7:00 I heard it was actually Jose's twin brother fighting in his place.
Dutch Leonard, amazing pitcher for the Red Sox in the 1910s. Was known as a difficult and self centered teammate. He was also a snitch who formally called out Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker with a letter to Kenesaw Mountain Landis for supposedly throwing a meaningless game in which they stood to make $150. Leonard retreated to his raisin farms in California where he became a millionaire, but never resurfaced in the baseball world to back up his serious claims.
Baseball needs more villains…lack of villains or players fans love to hate makes it boring. I would like to know who do people hate nowadays…
Fun fact about ARod, his family hates him. I went to school with his cousin and worked at the same mall as his aunt, met his mom, no one liked him except his mom.
Is Ryan Braun here?
No. Also I’d like to mention Wander Franco, Nick Swisher, Roger Clemens, Joey Votto, and Bryce Harper, and Yasiel Puig
Rafael polmero is like the old grandpa of the steroid era. How can you hate him
my grandpa was a clubhouse manager for a long time with the dodgers and we spent a lot of time around there as kids, jeff kent was always a royal asshole 😂
I actually went to high school with A-Rod's personal assistant, the girl to his right at 9:02
Ryan Braun deserves to be included
Respect for being a ducks fan lol
This guy has an exceptional taste in hockey teams
The only two players I ever refused to purchase a ticket to see were Pete Rose and Barry Bonds, absolute disgraceful a-holes, the two of them.
As for most hated in the last.... decade? Machado, Tatis Jr, Jose Batista, Tim anderson, Young Harper, Chapman, Amir Garrett
Now ppl hating on my boi altu bae 😆
Manny Machado should definitely be on the next list!
Curt schilling 😊
I thought that ted williams would be on here...
And these guys don't care, as long as they have that porsche in the driveway.
I'd expect the members of the Blacksox scandal would fall into the most hated category.
You should at least give Vai Sikahema some kind of credit for his first round knockout of Canseco, you used footage of the man, yet refer to him as a former football player
The only people who hate Pete Rose are people in their early twenties that don’t understand his legacy.
Good video but adjust your eyes. Its uncanny valley when you arent looking at the viewer
Maybe his cadence and choice of emphasis on the last word of each sentence too? Guy unsettles me with how he talks
Dude played 13 more seasons, yet Pete ruined his career!!!! The correct narrative to derive from that situation was Fosse shouldn't have blocked the plate.....
Pierzynski nearly single-handedly destroyed the 2004 Giants because he was so hated by his own teammates and coaches
After Jim Bouton published Ball Four, a lot of guys in the league had it out for him. So not disliked in the public eye, but behind the scenes, definitely. Plus, some guys didn't take him seriously 'cause he was a knuckler.
roger clemens and Chris Sale need to be mentioned
I’m on steroids and I can’t hit a 600 ft home run 😢
Rodger Clemens the way how he went from the Red Sox to the Blue Jays to the Yankees to the Astros and back to the Yankees once again oh and also that time he got into a fued with Mike Piazza in the 2000 World Series is definitely worth talking about
most loved players
rickey henderson
Cobb gets a bum rap. I'm pretty sure it's come out that the reason people hate him is because of the exaggerated hatchet job Al Stump did on him.
You named the most loved players of all time WITHOUT mentioning Babe Ruth. 😮
Derek Jeter: the myth of a legend
Huh? Jeter not a legend? Since when??
I never hated any players. I tend not to have "hatred" for players I don't even know regardless of their public perception as players. I guess I'm weird like that.
What do you call a steel bar that bends under pressure?
.
.
.
.
.
.
A Rod.
I think Derek Jeter would be on it for some petty reasons.
I mean, there's so few lifetime bans that you make it to Cooperstown, just in a different car. Also Ty Cobb was not a good baseball personality. DO NOT stick up for him.
Bonds and Rose should be in the hall
Zimmer ran at Pedro he ain’t a victim
None of the steroid era players deserve HOF, “Steroids don’t make you hit the ball” ok then why did they wait until taking steroids to start playing good
Barry and A-Rod were hella good before all that PED stuff came out
@@TheGrowdan311 dawg they weren’t hitting 60 and 70 homeruns before like 25-35 maybe 40 look at Luis Gonzalez dude hit 60 homers in a season after never having more then like 28, they don’t deserve any credit for that
@@isaacg1114 for most of the players u mentioned I completely agree but Alex and Barry were HR hitters from the beginning. I think the main thing PED'S do is aid in recovery and rehabilitation which will allow someone to play longer which will of course add to career totals. Either way A-Rod and Bonds are two of my all time favorites. Before Kobe died he had the reputation for being dickheaded and standoff-ish. That's why I liked him so much. Maybe that's saying something about me...hmmm
@@TheGrowdan311 exactly they just sat there and worked out all day and got huge and made it so routine fly balls were homers now and they didn’t need any off days cuz steroids themselves are the recovery idk if it’s banned it banned they shouldn’t have done it to begin with
Giants fan here. Barry Bonds never liked his own fans. Never would take time for fans after games. Go Giants💯⚾
ARod should get some post-career props for owning up to what an a#%hole he was.
While not hated as much as anyone on this list I'll throw Chase Utley out there.
U left out the Pete rose stuff about autographs
*Canseco won the '88 mvp
Big Mac
