Love the comparison photos of everyone when wearing their weaker colors vs their stronger colors. It really helps show what a difference these things can make!
omg this makes so much sense! i tried for ages with bronzer and it never looked right. i bought a vibrant blue shirt recently, i always thought only suited blonde/blue eyes, and i have black hair and porecelain skin, but it looked amazing on me and i was shocked. i thought i could only wear like navy. recently discovered i am a dark winter! life changing :) tysm great video
After many years, I discovered that my perfect "nude" is the one which is the color of my cheeks: cool pink. If I use a medium cool pink I don't look washed out; the lipstick emphasizes my cheeks.
I tried! I just got classified as a bright winter and I think the closest I can get to the 90s nude lip look is a vampy/berry lip colour 😬 probably more dark winter vibes but it's probably better than a brown or nude lip!
I love how a natural look for bright seasons is bright, bold, defined makeup! I know I’m not a bright season but I kind of wish I could wear that kind of makeup!

Because of your “find you season” video I found out I am either a True winter or a Bright winter, after watching this I guess I’m a True winter so I hope you make a video for True winter as well so I can be sure!! Also thnx for you videos!! 15 minutes ago I thought I was soft/muted summer because of the tiktok filter💀 eventhough I don’t have a warm undertone at all and am definitely not muted, your videos help me a lot to understand it all better!
Summers don't have a warm undertone. I recommend you letting a professional do the color analysis on you. It's really easy to make mistakes on yourself, especially if you have a preference for certain colors
Thank you for the Bright Winter video finally and the tips. I feel we do a whole lot better with deep berry/wine/purple/dark magenta-red colours in the winter rather than with red.
Thank you so much! This video has been the most helpful in me understanding and confirming that I am definitely a bright winter! The clear and simple explanation plus outfit suggestions makes it super clear. Those are definitely the exact types of outfits I can wear, so this helps me to know I definitely fit into this category. I was wondering why I always wear a bright neutral with a bright accent colour and wondering if I have very strange, particular or limited taste. Now I understand that this is because I do really need that strong contrast for clothing to look good on me and that I was just doing the right thing for me and using my eyes. Feels great to gain this level of clarity and certainty / confidence. So affirming. No more doubting myself or my choices. And great to learn that I can also use and combine different strong accent colours together and be more creative. Some colours I did not even know were possible for me. I never thought I would be able to wear a bright green, for example, or a yellow. I will definitely try this and also try to mix it up more. A thousand times thank you!! New subscriber 💜🥰
I’m definitely a winter but I don’t exactly feel like I’m a bright winter and im definitely not a dark winter. I keep leaning towards true winter because all of the recommendations work for me. Thank you for these videos! You explain everything so well and I appreciate your work :)
Now I know why bronzer and peach blush has never worked for me, and why bright cool makeup colors have worked so well. It’s hard when the clothes that look best on me have colors that really stand out, but luckily most of the time it does go with my personality haha What a helpful video.
How can I determine if I’m dark winter or bright winter? Is it possible that I’m sometimes one and sometimes the other? (Like when I tan) sometimes my complexion looks bright and sometimes it looks more muted
It’s me! 😀 It took me a long time to figure out my colors because I kept trying muted colors to see whether warm or cool was better. They all looked terrible on me!! I’m more medium-contrast, especially with my natural hair color which is reddish blonde. But I can’t deny the bright and the cool (in that order).
Thank you for your vids! I'm glad you include POC in your examples. I hope you include more POC (light to dark) in your vids. A makeup vid or tutorial for each season would be great! Saludos. 💐🌷🌻
Thank you for making this video. Now here is the confusing part for me. I’m a bright Winter, done a color analysis by a professional years ago but I do have a medium olive skin. I know it’s about the undertone which is cool but some colors from the Winter palette make me look clownish when it comes to make up for an example. Taupe is a nightmare and peachy corals look amazing on me. I know that I’m not warm but my skin looks yellow because of the olive overtone so I can pull off some warmer colors as long as they are not muted/pastel. Can you please share what a Bright Winter with an (medium) olive skin should wear or do in this case?
I think I’m quite similar to you as I’m olive as well, I realise I wear quite a few colours from the bright spring palette, the equivalent warm toned season. Check out that colour palette, there may be some warm tones for you as well.
i’m a bright winter but i just don’t vibe with the super bright pink lipsticks, really feel they don’t suit me! i’m a big fan of red lipstick tho! a true fav
Hi i did a test and i found out that i'm a bright winter. I have bright complexion and look good with crazy bright colors but my eye color is kinda dark emerald green or hazel i can't figure it out.. but usually spring or summer types do have hazel eyes so i'm kinda confused. But i'm definitely bright winter i'm cool, bright and look good in bright colors like lemon yellow pinky pink
Hi!! Don't worry if your features/characteristics don't follow the season 100%, as long as you recognize that you are bright and cool, and can handle bright and vibrant cool colors, you're good!
Hi there, I'm from Indonesia. I hope you notice my comment 🙏🏻 I really adore how the way you explain the whole things about seasonal color pallete yet i wish you can choose one of southeast asia as an example model. It's kinda hard to find my season color bcs i didn't find my self in those qualification 😭😁 Thankyou.
Can a bright winter have hazel eyes ? I had my colors done years ago and was told I am a winter however that was before they started with true bright deep stuff so I have no idea which one I am . It seems I can wear very bright colors and my veins look sometimes green or blue can’t tell . My hair is brown with ash eyes icy hazel and my skin burns then tans.
Hi, Mikaela! Thank you for these videos! You make me feel so enthusiastic about this topic! I would like to ask you, would the color season change if a person dye hair? I’m asking because I notice Megan Fox between winter season pictures in your videos. I believe she used to be a summer season back then(I’m not professional and definitely can be wrong). At least for me she is an example of a beautiful transformation from summer to winter. Could you please research for her previous pictures and tell your opinion? Was she summer or was she winter from the beginning on? Would be very interesting Thank you
Hi. According to other analysts that I've watched, your season (and undertone) doesn't change even if we tan or dye our hair. What could change is our contrast and if our clothes/ makeup are harmonious with our season. Example, Anne Hathaway is a winter, with dark hair & pale skin. She looks good in her winter colors (jewel tones). When she became blonde, her contrast changed and her clothes didn't look good on her much, or she had to chabge makeup styles.
i have green bright hazel eyes with dark nearly black hair and very pale white skin. my veins show i’m neutral leaning towards cool. so i’m pretty sure im bright winter the issue comes when i look at the undertones of my hair compared in the light . for example my hair as a child was very yellowy/golden browny blonde, so that’s what confuses me mostly and makes me think im an autumn ???
For years, I thought I was a Soft Summer like Bella Hadid but always hated nude lipsticks and wore red lipstick pretty much every day of my life or mauves/burgundies. Also, I love jewel toned clothing not pastels...but its ironic that I never twigged that I might be Bright Winter until very recently when someone else pointed it out to me that my skintone was very bright/radiant and my eyes are my best feature for sure.
The problem is I don't like vibrant colours or colourful makeup and i kind of look like east asian ( 35%) , can you give any suggestions in simple or dark coloured clothes? And another makeup looks Which doesn't have bright lip colours???
Stumbled upon your page yesterday and i'm binging through your videos! You do a great job breaking everything down as a science rather than an art. I'm struggling between whether i'm a true summer or soft summer. would love if you can spotlight either of these in on of your upcoming videos :)
Thank you! I do a lot of research on how we perceive color as humans, I honestly am obsessed lol. I don't know if it can be considered a 'true science' but it is a study of colors on humans, and how we perceive harmony and beauty :)
The dark winter colors are darker & more muted (colors are mixed with black or grey). The BW colors are brighter, more vivid & warmer (nearer to spring). BW people have very high contrast levels.
Honestly it is so hard to identify the right one. I have coppery red hair and blond nearly white eyebrows and lashes. My skin is extremly light and the undertone is cool. My eyes are quite striking bright blue with a dark brim. I thought I was bright winter but she said you have to have dark brown or black hair with a grey undertone. It is so confusing...
Redheads are an unusual type, but they definitely can be warm or cool despite their hair being classified as warm simply because of its color. I think I heard Madelaine petsch, for instance, is a bright winter. Red hair and pale blue toned skin does create a lot of contrast, especially with very intense eyes. But it’s also more common to be a bright spring which also has a ton of contrast. So really, I think it’s about which colors suit you best. If you’re not overwhelmed by bright winter colours you are prob a bright winter. As a likely true winter, I am very slightly overwhelmed by bright winter colors, which I am sad about because neon colours are so fun and very much my style. But just a little bit deeper and cooler suits me way better, so I only borrow from bright the few electric shades that I can do
I got a color analysis as a gift from my mother when I was 20. I was matched as a bright winter and the colors put me off. I referred to them as the "Cruella" colors and just did not like them. Today, almost 30 years later I have finally accepted them. I still find the makeup looks rather dated and harsh (this whole Snowwhite, Dita van Teese, red lipstick vibes is just boring). The clothes colors are okay. I mostly wear black.
Please don't take celebrity examples as true to whatever season I classified them in the video, I usually use specific photos just for THAT photo look and not for an analysis on the person. I also sometimes only use photos just to show the makeup they have on as an example. I know it can be confusing! I will further clarify this in my next videos, but I hope this clarifies a bit more for you.

This explains why I could never pull off the nude lip trend of the 90s. It looked so cute on others, but I just looked washed out by it. 🤦♀️
