"When your broke 2 things you cant afford to do, 1 is complain 2 is not hustle... you gotta hustle my friends"... Love it. Again thank you for this i never heard of fiver but best believe im going there right now lol.
Totally true. Linking up on FB Groups and Reddit can be a good place to find engineering / mixing / mastering / ghost producing work, too.
after a year i’m curious, how are you doing??
@@vitamino4383 I'm also curious. I actually just lost my job and I'm searching for my best options to make money online through music somehow, which has been my goal for years.
You're a fucking treasure. Anybody who says that you can't learn music or make money as an artist online hasn't tried hard enough. With people like you it's impossible not to. You're basically schooling all these people on business and music at the same time. For free. Crazy. Most questions I've had lately have been answered by your videos.
"If you're watching this in the future........GOOD FOR YOU" LOLOLOL
Prod. Debake what do you mean?
Ryan Oleary he says that in the video
And now is the future
😂😂
Had to save this in my watch later after watching it...as a reminder!
Same!
You watch it yet
Really appreciate people like you in this world & am genuinely happy your subscribers are going up 💪🏼🙏
Here you go answering the questions I been yelling at the monitor watching your videos. Amazing video, and a few of these are very feasible and easily accomplished when you are like me - no budget, no physical community (right now) and very little resources. Thank you again, Curtiss King for passing this on. Sometimes we just need someone to "give us permission". Keep talking, please!
Watching this 2020 I actually have people asking me to teach them how to produce I just never thought I could make money of it
Great tips! I have been wanting to put my music up on streaming platforms but was hesitant. This pushes me over the edge.
How's it going now?
Yo. Number 6 sounds like my cup o tea. I love bringing people together round my city to hear the sounds we have, and rappers love to know about producers, especially local ones. That’s an excellent method of not only getting money out of your product, but you also feel you’ve just contributed to the rap culture within your city by linking people up! You never cease to amaze me.
CURTISS, YOU THE MAN! LOVE THE QUOTE TOWARDS THE END...THANK YOU!!! 💕
Distrokid does not let you upload unlimited beats btw. They stop you at 125. They say the stores aren't accepting any more songs. I can send you a screenshot if you need.
ER Nationwide what do you use instead? i was thinkn of using distrokid bas a producer
@@immyilla I actually still use distrokid but I also like cd baby. Distrokid is worth the money you invest if you're willing to take it serious and possibly don't upload all of them within a three months time frame. Put the pr hours into marketing each specific beat and you'll be alright.
125 is probably a lot more than you need
Curtiss going viral again, I can feel it
I just love your videos Curt I have learned a whole lot just from watching ur videos!!!
Thanks bro for the great advice. I'm probably only doing 3 of 8 things you mentioned, but I'm for sure going to check into the rest over the weekend. You're the man Curtiss! 👏
This is Dope! I made my first UA-cam covering the same topic there is no excuse to be broke or not follow your dreams in 2018. A great way to make money is to think about something you know others hate doing but you are good at and turn that into a service. A buddy and used to organize(not clean) rooms to increase a person's work flow.
Thanks for all you do! You're an inspiration! Another idea... If you're branding is good, you could sell merchandise.
*Attention* and luv to u Curtiss- With streaming services, I'd like to let all artists know that you will need multiple sources to administer you royalties etc. This is internet now. Your music could be streamed in 'sweden, britain etc' you won't get money from that. I'll just paste this from Audiam company. As far as publishing outside of the US, foreign collection societies would track and collect these royalties from UA-cam. In order to collect for publishing worldwide, you'd need to affiliate and register your music with these societies.
For example:
- PRS/MCPS in the UK
- GEMA in Germany
- SACEM in France
- SIAE in Italy
A publishing admin would often handle the task for you.
Then you also have things like distrokid, etc. THey all have various prices etc. I'm sure Curtiss maybe getting affiliate from his links and cool. But look into all varieties and how many publishing/etc you need to link up to. Copyright blah blah. It's a fuckin headache but it's YOUR BUSINESS now. take 6 months even to study cause some like ascap/BMI want you to log into a 2 yr contract and can take 30% for tax etc etc. THIS IS WHY ARTISTS GET FUKD OVER. Look into who you do and don't need. Me personally, I don't need to copyright.gov my shit yet cause I don't care if someone re-uses my music as long as I get some cash. If I was Beiber and someones claiming outright then yeh I'll use lawyer$, go to court$, trying to get dollar$ $ueing people. Theres soo so so much to this, its a fuckin headache but its your life. Dont sign up to shit you dont need or find different.
Heres some info from Audiam, As far as Amuse.io (my preferred distributor) this should not cause any conflict with Audiam collecting mechanicals.
(mechanical royalties)
For UA-cam, I'd ask you to also make sure that you have not opted into any UA-cam monetization services before submitting sound recordings to Audiam. Now also you dont need to use adsense as there others you can use who will get you more money. Nobody starts a small business just to be small. Dont fuck urself over from the start. Learn all this shit. Business sucks but the music industry is the worst. Find how to get ur gems before you go digging. These fucks will bleed you dry and even put you in debt. Im still learning so I dont have all the answers. (I just woke up so im sure theres mistakes here)
also www.huffingtonpost.com/jamie-purpora/10-things-you-need-to-ask_b_3876434.html You may not need these as YOU ARE NOT A PERFORMING ARTIST just distribute online. People say you need them to be paid. Yeah if your gigging. DOnt listen to fools, save money. Learn this for yourself.
Also also, whos paying most. Funnily enough youtube pays lowest, BUT they have mass gain to your channel if you learn how. Tidal was the highest paying (microsoft Groove was paying awesome but now sold to spotify), you get to them via places like Distrokid etc. Don't thing 'yeehharrr im on spotify. Spotify sux' If you get there, promote your songs/links from the highest payer of the streaming service. Deezer, spotify etc pay shit.
A good idea is to use your product 'NON EXCLUSIVE' if someone wants to buy your music outright, yeh you make some coin and its no longer your song,, being non exclusive you take less, they may use it at some football matches, you get royalties from it you could be earning soooo much more. Don't sell yourself short.
Now this is what im looking for straight to the point and not dancing around the subject
been going for a month or 2 now on youtube. been listening in here for the advice for a while now too! thanks for the heads up and keep going stong.
You are such a blessing my brother!
Not even gonna cap I always thought putting my instrumentals on streaming services was pointless but you just gave me an idea fam
Great info bro keep up the great work i'm learning so much from you big homie!
One way that I wanted to create income was to write an ebook on beat narratives. Basically creating a niche subject, much like an essay topic, with citations, and sell that. People like to read, and you can create an audiobook to match with it as well.
Much value here, we appreciate you Curtiss King !!
Curtiss you the boss. I only started my UA-cam channel after I checked your videos and the ones from SuperStarO. I will never forget! Keep on growing. PS: You look a lil like DJ Khaled but I only mean it in a good way cause Khaled is boomin. Pz
Oh I don't doubt I've learned something my first year I believe I've actually learned more than the average person. Would be nice to teach people how to use DAW's and Plug-ins gonna look into that.
Man dude breaks down the new era music hustle . Ever body still thanks putting their music on F.B world star and You/tube is going to help them blow. Thanks for the info
CK, you made this video for me! Great info here. The opportunities are put there, I just gotta do it!
Keep'em coming. Just became a subscriber, but absolutely loving the content.
always come through with the info
@curtisskingtv Do you recommend uploading beats that contains samples to Distrokid?
KrisCashMusic good question
No, the samples have to be cleared/royalty free according to distrokid.
Chereih Beats I figured that! Thx for replying!
KrisCashMusic just use splice samples
Use tracklib
Great Video Curtis Thanks
Please answer me these questions.
Wouldn't artists rather you not publish the instrumental that they want to buy?
And you recommend using content ID.. wouldn't that annoy the buyer when they get flagged?
Please clarify how this would work.
Thanks

Amazing video. Really opened my mind to the options I have with music.
I’ve acquired details for you fellas. I have a new business using *4 N e t J o b s . C o m* which was introduced to me by my mate wherein he made a lot of money. This system has taken me several things. If you still have no idea about it, you have to be informed at this time.
What about royalties and publishing, how do you arrange for that if selling music via Fiverr?
Great vid bro very useful. Thought we were gona get a “placement” gem in here tho 👀
AMAZING MAN !!
Don’t you have to clear samples to upload your instrumental tape on streaming services !??
If theyre legacy free like with cymatics then you can use them
