oh god... single mom life, and I thought I was crazy for being a "stay at home" dad. informative video regardless. seeing the workflow makes things seem a bit easier.
Fantastic! Thanks for this. Now, if you're not using a Cricut printer & making your own, is this process necessary for uploading to some online sticker print companies?
Tanya, I am trying to figure out how I can design a pdf sticker sheet with the cut line displayed. Most sellers of printable stickers suggest a separate layer in Illustrator and saved as a pdf (which I dont have). Is it possible to import my watercolor png element into Inkscape, and follow this process to obtain the end result. If so, how please? Maybe another method comes to mind, but I only have Acrobat Reader with limited features. Thank You so much. You seem to be so knowledgeable and really hit on a lot of things that other UA-camrs miss!
Is there a reason why you can't save as a PNG sheet with the white outlines or whatever color sticker offset you need? I'll have to do a bit of digging on that one
i made a png in kitl then took it in inkscape followed your directions but i couldnt get past the first thing which was , Path then link offset. It just doesnt do anything, Can this be done with a png or does it have to be an svg
Has to be a SVG for this to work What you can do is trace the PNG in inkscape just crank the threshold all the way up. It will turn the image all black. Then you have a AVG "outline" Remove the fill add a stroke then apply the offset!
@boštjanova muzika I mean software to cut the stickers - sorry. For example if you export your stickers as PNG silhouette studio will cut around the black outline without an issue. If it's svg in silhouette studio then the user will need to utilize the cut edge function For cricut users will need to use the print and cut option Have you tried testing them in either software?

No you don't need to test it if you're just printing them
Another great tutorial!
Glad you think so!

I am planning on turning my svgs into stickers and uploading them on redbubble after converting them to pngs. Do I still have to get rid of the nodes?
If the sticker is showing find and you're just uploading to red bubble it shouldn't be an issue so long as there is no holes where the nodes are
Thanks for the tips
No problem! Anytime. I need to get some videos together on Inkscape just need to find some time
I have a button shop, just about to make stickers. But I’m not getting the diamond
Thanks mom..
You're welcome!
how do you persuade print&cut machine that your black outline is actually a contour cut? that is the basic question here.. :)
It depends on the software what are you using?
@@ShootingStarSVG sw it's obviously inkscape or did you mean RIP?

I use versaworks as a RIP.. Printing works fine, cuting not..
Don't know the silhuette studio, printer is an old Roland SP300v
Can you post a video on how you did the DOPE image in inkscape?
Sure I can do a quick tutorial on that. All that is if text with the leaf subtracted from the O but I'm happy to do a quick instructional video on it!
How do you actually cut them in inkscape?
And how does one actually CUT it in Inkscape?
You would need to cut it in a different software like cricut or silhouette on a die cutting machine
I wish you showed how to bring your file in.
