I can't wait to do one of these for my grandson, but first I have to get some tiny hands. I laughed so hard when I saw that. Keep up the great work guys.
Haha, I'm glad the tiny hands made you laugh! They're definitely a must-have for any funny video. I'm sure your grandson will have a blast when you make one for him!
Thanks a bunch for the love! I'm stoked that you enjoyed the video. We try to keep it small, but I love going big. Keep watching for more awesome content!
Garrett, one of your best projects! Most vector programs have the back minus front and outline to object functions, so it is easy to translate to Inkscape or Corel. Thank you both for a great video!!
Your comment made my day! I'm really happy that you liked the project and found the video helpful. It's always great to know that my content is making a positive impact. Thank you for your support!
Woohoo! I'm stoked that you're pumped to try this with your nephews' or brother's name. Illustrator is a game-changer, right? Let me know if you need any more tips or tricks along the way!
OMG, thank you sooo much! We're stoked that you loved the video and that it's got you excited to try something new. You're gonna crush it, we just know it! Let us see what you make!
You can do this same thing in Lightburn, CreativeSpace or Inkscape, I am just most familiar with Illustrator. Pretty much the same actions, just different function names. I show something similar in this video: ua-cam.com/video/jRS6HPRNB-w/v-deo.htmlsi=QA8Oj5n5aHml5VQM
I am new and lost when it comes to lasers. I have a LX1 20w never used yet. Just keep watching videos. What I want to know is are the settings the same in all lasers
First, this was excellent work. Second, I could not follow along during the design portion. Illustrator is like another universe to me. Can you show how you would do this in XCS?
Good video, great idea for a product. I wish you would show the final product at the beginning so as you progress through the video, I can relate to what you are doing with the final product. Not all of us have access to, are trained in, or want to use illustrator.

Great tutorial you made. I am just learning to get my head around doing this for myself. Where did you find the graphic for the bike and the music? Did you get different designs and group them into one file to add to the design? This is all new for me and always willing to learn new things.
🙌🙌🙌 = 💀💀💀 Okay back from LMAO - GREAT great project! My 5 year old nephew asked me this week that he wanted to know how my laser worked. I told him we could make a project together, I think I will be making his name with Dinos or Creepy Crawlies - he will decide and I will be the coolest aunt in town!
Woohoo! I'm glad you had a great time watching the video! Making your nephew's name with Dinos or Creepy Crawlies sounds like a blast. You're gonna be the coolest aunt ever, no doubt about it. Can't wait to see the final project!
Far and away, my favorite video you've ever done. I've been thinking about it for a week and decided to try and follow along today. I'm new to AI but I'm getting there. However, i'm getting stuck at the 3.5m mark for erasing the overlap. My ai doesn't do what yours is in this spot. i don't get the larger round cursor and if i click on the overlaps, it just kind of creates a little dead spot. Any tip you'd could recommend? ThankS!
You can change the size of your cursor with the "bracket keys" to the right of P. The bigger area should help erase instead of just a dead spot. Let me know if this helps! ~garrett
@@KimandGarrettmakeit that's cool. i didn't know how to resize the cursor and that part works but still getting the same behavior...just larger "dead spot.' I have a red stroke on a black fill and when i click with the erasor on those vectors, i just get the large white dead spot.
Really great video you two!! I would like to make one of those....or more than one. I am a ham radio guy....one of my several hobbies...and would like to use an image that include ham radio "things".What are those types of images called? I have learned that one needs to know the correct name of what you are searching for. Thanks again.
Love all of your videos, do you paint the edges of your outdoor stuff like you did in this video? I’ve never picked up on that if you do I’ve always just seen you paint the faces. Thank you!!
I love this and have tried for over a week to make it happen. Is there a tutorial using XCS? Can't merge Layer 3 and Layer 1 copy. Up until then everything works. Thank you for sharing all your projects. I've learned a whole lot and gotten so much inspiration. I use Affinity Designer and subscribed to Illustrator wanting to do this, but can't make it happen. Again, thank you.
Thank you for sharing how you do this, I love everything you guys do. I am trying to do this for my son and having an issue. In AI when I add multiple images for the Layer 3 when I get to the part of Minus Front after Shift Clicking the images it only leaves one of the images I put in there. Even though when I shift click it is showing all of them highlighted. Is there something I am missing? Basically only leaving the image in one of the letters, getting rid of the rest.
Make sure your objects are ungrouped, then you might have to do a Minus front multiple times to clip all the pieces. Copy (ctrl+c) then Paste In Place (shift+ctrl+v) will come in handy when when the front piece disappears after Minus Front. I do a Minus Front then Paste In Place for the next clip.
Thanks, will look into that, after trying to cut some I think I realize why it kept doing that just gotta figure out how to correct it. I was using a name with LE at the end and even with the unify or such it was keeping the L and the E separate so when I tried to do that step I guess since they weren't connected it would try and get rid of the rest. I did trim instead to get the job done but will have to see why it didn't join the L and the E together. Thanks again for everything.@@KimandGarrettmakeit
I’m enjoying the videos! I have been looking for a new hobby, and cannot decide between laser, CNC, 3-D printing, etc. I am new to this world and also Blind do you have any suggestions?
OMG! Thank you for making this video! These designs blew my mind and immediately made me want to start making myself some. I want to order some MDF and those paints from your shop. Wow!! So cool! Thank you again!! My question(s) is where did you find that musical clipart? Is it available in your shop for purchase?
OMG, thank you sooo much for your amazing comment! I'm seriously stoked that the designs blew your mind and got you all pumped up to start creating. That's what it's all about! 🙌 If you order some MDF and paints from my shop, you'll be unstoppable! Now, about that musical clipart... I found it on Canva.
Love this project! You both are awesome! Do you think my D1 Pro 10 watt be able to cut the 1/4 inch MDF? or would I need to upgrade to a higher watt diode or CO2?
I agree with @dian3145 one of my favorites too! Could add some string lights to the inside and on the back, love the lights that are remote/Alexa controlled and come with adhesive and increase the price even more
Totally agree with you and @dian3145! Adding string lights to the inside and back would take this product to a whole new level. Plus, the Alexa control sounds like a Game-Changer!
What was the pen used to touch up the black sides? I am just learning and having some issues with the sides being so black and get on everything how to you control that?
Hey there! Thanks for the compliment! And yes, the XTOOL P2 can cut through transparent acrylic like a hot knife through butter. Upgrade to it and you'll feel like a superhero with laser vision!
Absolutely! The S140watt is a beast, we were shocked how easy it gets through the MDF. We used it on MDF in this video: ua-cam.com/video/gEsOiRMUmVQ/v-deo.html
HA! I checked out your channel, you got me beat with the back and front flips. I am rusty, but I can still bar and 3 at 50. I have been to Woodward. I grew up riding POSH with Joe Rich, Chris Sales and Jay Lonergan.

Great video thanks.
It would be great to see the same purely in Lightburn.
I almost exclusively design in lightburn, this is totally doable. A lot of the 'duplicate' layer is making OUTLINES / Outward and Inward.
Hey Andrew! I did something real close to this using Lightburn in this video: ua-cam.com/video/yL_yY8EIozs/v-deo.htmlsi=uezH3LlQ04WJvJ-o

I think this is my favorite video of yours that I've ever seen. will definitely work to recreate this and offer in my area. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it inspiring. Best of luck with recreating it in your area!
Nice Tiny hands! Thank you for this project!
Haha, thanks! I guess my tiny hands come in handy for certain projects. Glad you liked it!
OK!!!! The doll hands are hilarious 😂😂😂😂
