TV station exciters, 200 watts, have occasionally turned up on air, especially in urban locations. They also run the old TV's well. I watched a few non-syndicated children's shows. Good content for all ages.
We had a Magnavox with the with the motorized antenna that lasted a long time the big screens came out with projector screen that was crap the flat screens I can honestly say that the Vizio has better picture than the Roku Samsung Hitachi and all the other brands and including the old Magnavox📺📡

I'm sorry for the loss of your CRT tv I am more of a CRT guy myself and I rescued an older analog tv from being dumped in the scrap yard I dragged it home and plugged into my antenna and it was working perfectly with out a converter box on a older tuner it's weird that my analog tv was displaying NTSC for several years and the FBI never had any problems with my tv 😢

As that Digital TV converter box looks like GMA Affordabox in the Philippines, most GMA (Global Media Arts) analog, cable and digital TV channels are now widescreen but still 4:3 aspect ratio. Logo display are still widescreen but some 4:3 non-widescreen programming are still stretched 4:3 (no black bars on the other vertical sides). GMA AFFORDABOX ISDB-T converter box only use NTSC for RCA, but you can use HDMI TO RF (PAL NTSC with menu and remote control)

For European PAL only TVs that accepts NTSC on SCART input, use RCA to SCART adapter. TVs in St. Pierre et Miquelon are mostly imported from Europe or France. You can use ATSC box in SPM to receive Canadian DTV channels nearby Canadian island but St Pierre and Miquelon used DVB-T(2).
You'll get a more fluid motion if you use 480i rather than 480p. This is because a CRT TV uses interlaced video which draws at 60 fields a second. Use progressive could combine or ship a field and just double it since it just has a solid frame 30 frames per second. A tube TV probably won't understand a progressive scan anyway. It's really for the later CRT TVs and early flat screens.
Using 240p test suite you can see that CRT TVs also support progressive video signals not only interlaced but you need a game console and a cartridge/CD for this
Considering buying a boombox with analog tv. This is helpful looking for a tiny digital converter that I can solder internally to the power, antenna, audio and tv.
For CRT TVs it is recommended to use the RCA or SCART connector for high quality picture. On RF the picture looks average, on RCA/SCART the picture looks excellent. Of course if the TV has RCA or SCART input. The European Converter Boxes no longer have RF output so you have HDMI out and SCART or RCA out, since our TVs use SCART connection, there are RCA to SCART adapters and work both ways, it has a button that switches between IN and OUT. The advantage is that you can connect to multiple TVs, an amplified splitter is mandatory to have the best picture. I did this 15 years ago, when I only had CRT TVs, the signal was from my PC. We could watch movies in kitchen, bed room, living room. It's lika a private channel.

CRT last longer than modern TV. For example my Samsung CRT TV bought in 2004 work great even today I only connect my Digital TV Converter Box and the picture looks great and sounds better. My Samsung LCD TV P2270HD model bought in 2010 lasted until 2017. An inverter that powered the LCD screen broke and couldn't find a new one. Even worse in 2017 I bought a Philips LED TV and lasted until 2020, and the Philips TV wasn't used as much as both the Samsung TVs.

This means you would need to use a proprietary cable box (programmed by them) to receive the channels you are paying to have access to, depending on your cable package. A digital converter box would not work to receive these channels. You need a box from the cable company. I have a Magnovox TB100MG9 converter box and TV. Why can't I get the converter box to turn on? There is no light when pointing the remote to the converter box?

Need some wisdom! I've got my digital box hooked up to my old Sony CTR via component cables. The signal is coming in scrambled. I've plugged the box into a monitor via HDMI to confirm there's nothing wrong with the box and signal comes in fine. Anybody got any ideas? My next thoughts are to try a different component cable, and if that fails I'm gonna just do RF.

Use the red, white, yellow plugs. Out from the back of the converter box- into the INPUT plugs on the back or side of the TV. Match up colours. Select the AV or VIDEO input on the TV.

The modulation must be set (at least in North America these channels are used) to channel 3 ‘on’ or channel 4 ‘on’, or no modulated analog signal will be output through the RF out port. Some boxes have a ‘Loop Through’ option- don’t use this as it simply passes the antenna signal through (the old TV cannot receive a digital signal). Try each channel and use the one with the best picture. This can be found in the channel search menu of the converter box. I hope this helps.

@NorthcoasterHobby tried that but wouldn't work I think it's cause by default the converter box outputs 1080p so I hooked it to my flat-screen first and downgraded picture to 480i 4:3 but it still won't show up on old tv with knobs so I think knob tvs are just to low of resolution to watch TV on nowadays I guess which is a shame cause it's a cool concept idk maybe I'll try a vcr sometime and use rca connection from vcr to converter box and then from that run a coaxial or something cause SOMETHING has to work its just not working with basic solutions

It depends where the no signal message is from. If it’s from your TV, you might have the connections mixed up or you’ve chosen the wrong input on your television. If the message is from your digital converter box, then ensure your antenna is connected to the ‘ RF IN’ or ‘ANT IN’ and properly aimed.
@@NorthcoasterHobby yes its saying that on the converter box problem is my outlets are far apart from each other so I'm doing my best to tighten the ANT IN socket not too successful on that one. The red/white/yellow cables are connected to a farther outlet but I can't be able to reach the antenna to connect to the back while having the colored cables connected at the same time. I'm most likely going to try it downstairs.

That's because analog has that snowy picture, especially when your RF cable doesn't have good signal.

No not using the red/white/yellow. I want to know why my converter box does not go on when I point my remote to it. Every thing is hooked up correctly. It worked before. Is there something I could do?
Are the batteries in backwards? The remote will not operate if the polarity is reversed.

Can you use a knob tv with uhf and vhf knobs? I'm trying to right now but it won't come in for some reason it tries to but doesnt
Put the TV on channel 3 or 4.
@NorthcoasterHobby tried that but wouldn't work I think it's cause by default the converter box outputs 1080p so I hooked it to my flat-screen first and downgraded picture to 480i 4:3 but it still won't show up on old tv with knobs so I think knob tvs are just to low of resolution to watch TV on nowadays I guess which is a shame cause it's a cool concept idk maybe I'll try a vcr sometime and use rca connection from vcr to converter box and then from that run a coaxial or something cause SOMETHING has to work its just not working with basic solutions

@NorthcoasterHobby I'm not looking to record to vhs tho I'm simply looking to watch tv on a dial knob only analog tv that has no option for a remote unless using the converter box remote it tries to display the picture and it kinda does but it doesn't work properly it just flickers the screen black then goes to snow again

You need to run a channel scan to load in the over the air antenna channels to the TV. I don't have a Roku TV, but I made a video with general instructions on how to run a channel scan for any TV model. I hope this helps you.

The TV should have at least a 300Ω (ohm) connection in back (2 screws). You'll need a 75Ω to 300Ω adapter at the TV then the coax to tuner.

It depends where the no signal message is from. If it’s from your TV, you might have the connections mixed up or you’ve chosen the wrong input on your television. If the message is from your digital converter box, then ensure your antenna is connected to the ‘ RF IN’ or ‘ANT IN’ and properly aimed.
@@NorthcoasterHobby yes its saying that on the converter box problem is my outlets are far apart from each other so I'm doing my best to tighten the ANT IN socket not too successful on that one. The red/white/yellow cables are connected to a farther outlet but I can't be able to reach the antenna to connect to the back while having the colored cables connected at the same time. I'm most likely going to try it downstairs.
