I've never owned a DVR but I'm assuming it still would. The DVR is what has the content, which means it should do its own thing as usual, and the RCA cables will simply continue to output the Audio/Video signals as usual, except along the way to your tv, they'll be converted to a digital format to make they're way to your tv via an HDMI cable.

are you trying to record hdmi using your vcr? if so then you need hdmi2av converter
@@gamecubeplayer Thank you for your reply. also thank you for telling me about the converter. What I'm trying to find out is if I can program the VCR so it turns on by itself when the program starts, and turn off by itself when the program ends.
@@Leotron6 what program starts & ends?
@@gamecubeplayer By program I mean, lets say Law and Order starts at 7:00 pm and ends at 8:00. Can I program the VCR with this hook up to start at 7:00 and turn off at 8:00 by itself while I'm away. The way VCR were intended to be used in the old days.
@@Leotron6 if you still have analog broadcasts in your area then yes but you need to check your vcr's manual for instructions
Perfect I needed this man !
Upon connecting this device, a DVR/VCR attached to it., with my 4k tv can I still record whatever to my DVR? Thanks! ♐
I got a new sony smart tv. Do I need the colored cables or can I use this converter to simply watch regular tv
Have been using this Converter for last two years by connecting my VCR to 43" LED TV......but does it really upscale to 720p or 1080p as denoted by the selector switch on the Converter, for a VCR? I actually don't see any difference after selecting to 1080p..Both the Audio & Video output are okay but not to the quality of the Framemeister Upscaler
I haven’t done any tests as I don’t have one which supposedly upscales. I’m skeptical but when I research it I will make a video. Thanks for your input, Prakash!
Hold on…. What’s up with the disc you put into the DVD player? I’ve not seen any other UA-cam video need a disc. Help! Dies this disc come with the HDMI converter?
Thank you.
Does this work to synchronize a tv to another tv? Video and audio
well i suppose maybe if one of the tv's has audio and video OUT - which i don't think i've ever seen.
there is this thing called “wii2hdmi” i wanna play my wii again, with my newer model of tv. however i don’t know if i should get the converter or the “wii2hdmi”
Does the wii2 HDMI only connect to a wii? If so, I wouldn’t get it because you’ll be limited to using it with the wii only as opposed to these which you can use with other devices.
@@SimpleCafeE yes it’s only for the wii as of what i know, but i only need it for the wii
Ok I can understand you feeling more comfortable with that, so go for it 😎
Honestly RCA was great in my opinion ,you always had one spare somewere in the house and they never come loose and even when you pull them out its a tight seal connection ,now days hdmi wiggle about and brake the hdmi port after time 🤔 im here because my ps2 doesnt fir my tv ports obv 😂
Yea they can come loose easily.
Question, I have an LG WebOS TV and when I connect the RCA cables to the adapter it displays a blue screen. If I leave it plugged in for a bit the screen, then becomes distorted going in between its distortion and blue screen. Is there a way to resolve it? I have the same adapter as the one in the video, I'm using it to connect to my N64 and PS1 and I've tried different HDMI cables as well as changing its port.
Hey Travon just double checking if your converter has the rca ports on the input side and the hdmi on the output side.
Does it work well with game consoles? Xbox, atari, ps2 etc. ??
I verified it with a SNES. Here’s the video for that..

good infor, where can i get this part. RCA To HDMI cable??? plss....
They're hard to find in person so you can look online in your electronic sites.
I have a pyle PDA7BU home theater amplifier Auto receiver sound system and I hooked speakers up to but it doesn't have any HDMI or optional hookup on it but my tv does. What would I need to be able to watch TV and be able to use my receiver that has the speakers on it to get better sound??

Thanks for this i already have a-lot of old rca and hdmi cables plus i don’t want to ask my parents to buy extra junk
How do it work out?
Thanks for the video! But can you help me convert audio from old tv to my soundbar? The soundbar has optical port and hdmi arc port. But my tv only has rca and hdmi (not hdmi arc) ports. How to convert audio from my tv to the soundbar?
Hello Aditya, I hope your tv’s rca ports say OUT. If they do, check out this video (ua-cam.com/video/0s0YlNHWD2I/v-deo.html) if not, this video would be the next best thing (ua-cam.com/video/0s0YlNHWD2I/v-deo.html)
I need help using an adapter like this with my new LG tv. Everything’s connected like you said and it still doesn’t detect any input. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hey EA, can you have a look at the each of the inputs you're connected to and let me know what they're labeled?
Thank you. This was very helpful.
you know what really grinds my gear!
the new lg oled tv's like the c9 have composite and component inputs BUT just the models for east of europe and west of europe. in central europe they force people to just use hdmi. thats not Fair. these inputs are needed for ever. they could at least give us the av jack so wd can play old consoles or plug set top boxes without hdmi in our tv
sorry for my english
Yes it's tough. In the states they're phasing out RCA too, that's why I made this video. P.S. your english was perfect.
How to buy an hdmi converter? thanks tips
Go to a store that sells a lot of TVs. That would be your best bet. Otherwise just look online. Here’s a link if you need one amzn.to/2RNSiKS
I need to do this for an older Sony digital camcorder ( can I ? ) to view and audit tapes before sending them out to be changed to memory flash drives to keep for my children in the future
can you use this the other way around? i have a jvc tv with no hdmi ports and i want to play my ps4 on it?
no and you should never play ps4 on standard definition because the text becomes unreadable
@@gamecubeplayer okay thanks man
you can but at the end of the day, the signal will be put out in much lower resolution and like the Dolphin Player, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you don't mind wasting money and are just curious about what it looks like.
How was the quality of the screen once converted? I bought a 14 dollar one on Amazon and I tried my ps2 with it and the image was darker and a little more blurry than it should have been. Playing original battlefront 1 was almost impossible with how bad it was with that game. Was this converter giving good quality results (making the video look the way it should)?
Hey Glue Man. I’ll be making a video to analyze the results. For now my belief is that if the tv is bigger - then the imperfections will be more noticeable.
@@SimpleCafeE okay cool thanks! Just to let you know. I ended up buying the Best Buy insignia converter that was 60 (got on sale for 40) and it works perfectly! The other cheap converter was either broken and not working properly or just cheap.
@@glueman7761 great! and yea sometimes going cheap doesn't work out.
I used the extremella RCA to HDMI converter though not a TV but a sound bar no sound output. Any comment ?
How are you Abayaomi? what is your source if not a tv?
I need to convert my roku (hdmi) to my old tv (av cables) I guess I need
hdmi to a/v connection. Is that correct?

Exactly correct! I need to make a video for that...
Hi there, Thanks for your videos which are really great - but it's not working for me - what am I doing wrong? I have a Samsung 2021 with a converter HDMI to RCA external "traditional" speakers to get the TV sound out of the speakers -- it's not working, can you help? thank you!
Hi Andrée, are you trying to connect your tv to external speakers? If so, can you tell me the ports/connectors it has? It sounds like maybe you're trying use an HDMI port but that won't work unless the port says ARC.
@@SimpleCafeE hi there, thanks for getting back to me. I plugged and HDMI cable into the eARC port of the samsung smart box - and that HDMI into an RCA converter - those males plugs into the speaker plugs of the amp. I called Samsung and they said the TV not compatible?! I don't see on any menu an HDMI choice for sound output. I was thinking of trying a bluetooth thingy on the amp, and connect that way? thank you very much for your help!
What if the TV is RCA and google chromecast is the one that has the HDMI cable?

So I bought an original Playstation and it came with a plug that looks like a coaxial cable and it was kinda mashed so I thought that was why it wasn't getting recognized so I ordered a cable that fits the Playstation and has an hdmi end for the TV still isn't getting recognized.... Do you think that cable is garbage? Do I have to have the converter?
Bought this converter BUT all I get is SOUND only and NO video. Tried on 2 smart TVs (LG and Philips). Any clues or the damn thing is simply defective?
Thank you! Does it work if i connect the hdmi to my soundbar? As my soundbar only has HDMI and Usb input.
Hey sorry for the super late response. The tv must have an ARC connection.
Does this work if i have a receiver and i want to connect it to a smart TV?
Good Morning Sir may i know where did you purchase your HDMI conveter? Im willing to order. Please reply thank you in advance.
Hey there Donna. I got one at a store called microcenter and the other from Amazon - amzn.to/3cSMNWt (got the second one because it can also convert aux)

If I want to connect my Xbox 360 to my 4k monitor I need to get the RCA to HDMI version right??
doesn't your xbox 360 have hdmi output?
RCA to HDMI is correct however I can't say if you'll be happ with the resultsi if you're expecting 4K resolution. rca is only about 680 pixels while your tv is going to be displaying more than 4x that. just a word of caution. See if you can use this instead as it may produce better results: amzn.to/3FWcpi2
@@gamecubeplayer yeah I literally just seen it after I spent $20 on the converter 🤦 I’ve always used the AV cables back in the day I never knew it had HDMI
