The Darkglass won't do much different for you. Very similar features and imo not that different sound. Learn how to blend distortion and clean then you will get a better metal sound
In this video you may hear that, however it's not a good audio of either. Go see, feel and listen to them both in the flesh so to speak. I say that with such presumption by assuming you haven't already done this because if you had you would know that while the MXR is a nice little pedal at it's price point that it is not in the same league (same galaxy) as the Aguilar. If you don't realize that then maybe you need to put the bass away and just double down on commenting on UA-cam in regards to things which you have no visceral experience or knowledge of. 🤔😣
@@charlesbr7684 So you rate the Ampeg at #1 and the Aguilar at #2 then? The Ampeg is a little on the wide side, that's the issue with it. It might not fit on my pedalboard.
@@MrClassicmetal It's big at 7.5 yes. I like it better muself, but honestly they are both good. I just lean more toward the ampeg sound and it's simpler controls. I wouldn't necessarily rate them as unequal. The MXR is a really nice pedal also. It just comes down to what your doing with them (style wise) and what you like sonically. If size is an issue for your board and you like the Aguilar I'd go that route, but its a bit pricier. If money is a concern the MXR is a nice Pre also I just don't put it quite on the same level as the other 2, but it it still a real nice Pre with alot of value at it's price. You won't go wrong with any of the 3 in my honest opinion.
I have the MXR and I’m beyond happy with it. It sounds incredible
the volume knob of the MXR 'n the the master knob of the Ag are no set the same.
Thanks, nice job comparing them
Good review. MXR is way better than A. but have one disadvantage (imo). The color button effect is always present with distortion button pressed
Gain is too high on Aguilar and creates distortion even with ags off.
thank you. mxr80 rules
My pedal is an mxr, but i still searching for a good metal tone, any suggestion?
Chris Carrillo Darkglass B7K
Is it this mxr ? Just ordered it to get metal tones, I can give you advices when I recieve it if you interested
pideuh weuh im thinking of buying an mxr, I’d love some advice for metal tones on it!

Chris Carrillo just curious you don't like the mxr? To me it has a better tone texture.
Cuál te pareció mejor?? Acá en mi ciudad hay mucha diferencia de dinero, el MXR vale $35.000;pesos y el Aguilar vale el doble.
Aguilar tone hammer👍
Both good, but the MXR seems cleaner to me
As an Aguilar guy, I have to agree. The MXR was more natural
Me agradó más el Tone Hammer jeje
MXR sounds just as good at 1/3 the price!🤔

@@charlesbr7684 Do you own the Aguilar or both of them?
@@MrClassicmetal Have owned the MXR, have played on the Aguilar, currently own and use the Ampeg/Scr.

i like MXR
Why are you laying on the floor?
Mi buen lalo sería bueno compararlo con el sansamp
Both sounds great. The Aguilar is more natural while MXR is slightly mid-scooped IMHO
Mxr 👌
MXR is the best!
MXR !!!
Aguilar
aguilar wins
First lol
Aguilar
