Good morning. That was so nice. I'm used to hens lying around but so funny when roosters do it. Bucky was all flat. Yeah they are quieter in the morning too if breakfast is laid out at night. I have the problem that then hens come back down the ramp if they seem me put food out at night. So I have to wait til it's really dark and then sneak in and out. Ah that one baby didn't want to go. Glad you showed her where home was. Forgot to say: Nice to see the neighbor's rottweiler puppy again.
So glad I found your channel. It’s great. I have a question. I have six Orpington’s They are two months and one week old. I got them outside and I wanna free range them in my yard. I live in town I have a 6 foot privacy fence around my backyard. It’s not a big backyard. My concern is do you think they can jump up and get out of my yard with that 6 foot fence , it’s really a spooky time for me. I see how fast they can move in their run. I’m afraid if they get out in the street I won’t be able to catch them with these old legs.😢 thank you. Any help you can give me would really be appreciated.
I’m glad you found my channel! Thanks for watching! Those chickens are definitely not going to clear that 6 foot fence. Just make sure there’s nothing close by that they can jump up on and perch. If they can then they might be able to fly on over. Generally 6 ft fencing is what everyone agrees is suitable for keeping chickens in. It’s not totally impossible for them to fly higher than 6 ft…but Buff Orpingtons are lazy chickens and they get pretty big. Mine won’t even fly over my 2.5’ fence to get in the garden 😂
thank you sis. for the knowledge and the info is very useful for me.. best regards, greetings from the friendship of laying hen breeders from Indonesia
I have alot of raccoons and fox. I've never free ranged my chicken for fear of loosing them. Should I do it? I have a big salmon favorelles rooster that's not friendly. Would he protect them
That rooster isn’t much of a match for foxes and raccoons…..however they usually only come out at night. I think as long as you shut them in the coop at dark they’ll be good 😊
Perfect coop, thanks for sharing!!!!
