My wife is having the same problem with here 2012 RX350 so when she gets home I hope this will work for this year as well. I'm amazed how some dealerships will charge customers for something like this when they obviously know how easy it is. Same thing happened with my 2011 Ford Edge when I forgot my four-digit door code or I wanted to change it, they said they need to connect diagnose it and change it with a special computer for a couple hundred bucks $$$! I refused then went home and did some UA-cam research and all I needed to do is hit a reset button that was hidden behind the felt interior next to the foot parking brake inside.... It really pissed me off that they lied to me and it only gave me more mistrust about dealership repairs. That's over the border dishonestly. Thanks XJ, hope this works for me as well!

Thank you, i just tore down glove compartment ,kick panels and console to replace gear the shift bushing i didn't notice that switch ,when the liftgate didn't work i was thinking i left a wire off now it works after resetting the switch.
Thanks! I had a hunch it was some stupid switch somewhere cause it would beep twice, but not work. The double beep to me meant it was deactivated. I guess I was right and a button inside the glove box pisses me off. My mechanic said nothing about it either. He replaced the struts since the lift gate was not staying up and that was just $60. I walked away from a sale on a 2017 RX350 because the liftgate wouldn't open from either remote or dash button NO ONE could explain why & i didn't want to be stuck with a major issue Maybe this was all it was if you were the salesman you would've saved the sale with a detailed explanation maybe I'll go back to see & show them I think the service dept knew but the salesman didn't & couldn't explain it
