I love Pat’s take. Good to hear something out of him and I completely agree. Ben loves his Faze boys but they need more time to keep being as good as they are to be put in the places that he put them in on the list. I feel like most rational people would agree. I also feel like most likely he put faze as high as they are on a list to start controversy so that more keep are watching the Flank and paying attention to the stream and VOD.
An all time greatest list... With some new-ish players, just seems stupid. An all-time great player is great across all COD games, minimum three years imo. Yes, the young talents are hella fuckin good, no doubt. But all time list? Not top 30, sorry.

I moooostly agree with Pat, but there are a couple objective things that need to be given context as you move throughout years. First of all, the number of events per year has been drastically different as time has gone up. There used to be MLGs/UMGs/etc. Without looking it up, I'm sure there were way more Ghosts events than Cold War events, meaning Crim and Aches (for example) had an unfair advantage in terms of racking up titles because that was their prime. Secondly, using MW home series as an example, Huntsmen won a home series where Faze wasn't there, and a home series where Dallas wasn't there. That has to have an asterisk where you win a tournament where the best players in the world aren't there. Lastly, and this is the weakest part of my argument, but it absolutely is true. Go back and look at KDs over the years. The top KDs have been steadily declining recently. Simp had the best KD last year and it was only 1.17. That tells you that the league is getting super competitive. The same way you see numbers converge in the NBA (nobody is averaging 50ppg like Wilt anymore). It is an objectively true statement to say call of duty is being played at a much higher level today than it was even 5 years ago but definitely 10-12 years ago. I respect players from all generations and what they have meant to the game, but you just have to see the formatting changes and the rise in popularity and admit that they skew things to the point where you can't just simply take all "wins" equally.
I think Ben was confusing top ALL TIME with top THIS YEAR. He was getting mad at everyone calling him recency biased but the list is 100% recency biased. An ALL TIME list can’t be weighed on a bunch of what if’s. That’s not how it works in any other sports or any other ALL TIME lists.
Rate accomplishments on a point scale. I.E. Being top 5 in a game: best player in a game +5. Argument for best player +3. Top 5 player +1. Championships +1 Rings +2 Champs MVP +1
The problem with Bens thinking is like yeah shottzy has been a beast for 2 years straight but damn near everyone on this list has at least 2 to 3 years if not 5 or 6 of being a beast. Shottzy if he keeps playing he'll def be high on the list but rn he shouldn't be on it at all
I guess it is a weird dynamic that for new talent there is an extra push for trajectory (future) but for the old guard there isn’t a push for before BO2 (past)
I get why u cant put cell up there but simp abezy and arcicity have been dominant for 3 straight years lol and simp and abezy have made 3 straight cod champs and won 2 of them
At this point you can’t have a criteria like most wins, because if it comes to ALL time old heads will get mad because “they’ve done it longer”. So you need more aggressive criteria’s. Like consistent KDR & earnings. faze Guys have more earnings than “veterans” like slasher, Parasite & Aches. They did it longer and have accomplished less than these guys. Perfect example. Cr7 and Messi were the best at age 23.. better than lámpard, Steven gerrad. Yeah Kaka and them are legends.. but Messi and Ronaldo were better than them at a way younger age. So longevity means shit in ALL time. Young players can be better in 2-4 years than veteran’s
The point is , someone who lived it and breathes it versus an “analyst” POV .. pro goes off of actual accolades and talent and stats.. Ben adding … bull shit to make his list viable .
Also you cant do trajectory in all time and forget the past just because it suits your arguments lol. Hate to get all morbid and shit but accidents happen, careers end unexpectedly. Redo list every couple years, that's when you update and give current players there due.
If you start at bops2 and move forward nadeshot has the 4 wins, and was a on a T3 team the rest of his career from bops2. He’s better than 7 of your 20-30. This guy is higher than a kite
It's sad how much they disrespect Aches last time I checked aches picked up scump and crimsix and taught them how to play the game the right way also aches has two world championships and 20 tournament wins
What it takes to be the best in the world, no matter the era, should be weighted equally. Circumstances are differential by nature and therefore cannot be accurately evaluated which leads to subjectivity. If we are creating a list as a snapshot in time, then it has to be definite as a function of time. If we include things such as trajectories or other indefinite variables, then that’s an improper evaluation for this application. There are so many ways to think about this, and none are truly definitive which leads to an indefinite argument. I do agree, the best way to do a list is to have a large panel and bring it to a vote.
I 100% agree, and prime simp is for sure beating prime nameless but I also think aches was trying to put across that although the skill ceiling was much lower back in the day. Everyone’s ceiling back then was similar so it was still just as hard to win so can’t discredit anyone’s achievements just because of era. It’s a tough situation to make calls on, I don’t think anyone will make a list that doesn’t spark some controversy, but that’s half the fun IMO.
Ben used so much extra criteria to justify them faze boys at the top. All these OG pros that got placed lower than the whole faze team based off "longevity"😂
What we need is all the top 5 guys + aches jkap slasher and possibly 2 other top all time guys to all make a list and take all their individual lists and put points to each spot and make a overall top 30 list outta those lists by points

@@SK-gk8jw it is his fault. Scump basically runs optic and he can play with whoever he wants. People said that they had a top 2 talented team but only finished T3 once. Skill on his teams are never the problem. Putting in extra work and his lack of leadership has always been his downfall
@@austinh.8842 Lol i understand you point and we actually agree Crimsix for no.1 and hopefully karma no.2 who is my favourite player of all time. He won championships in 5 different teams and world championships in 3. Only player who changed roles and and adapted him play style for each world championship. I can gooo onnnnn why he is a bit above scump and way above clay. But people do forget how fast formal won his chips its scary.
I believe both Clay and Karma should be top 3 due to the teams they won with, Karma ran bo2 with parasite, Killa and mirx, then got picked up by col in ghosts for single handedly almost beating them, then won with Doug Censor Martin, then ran with the OG dynasty. Clay ran the 2nd half of Bo2 with col, and the first part of Ghosts, then went head to head vs col on Tk, ran some of AW and bo3 events with Faze and then somehow won 2 champs after that lmfao like those two have done so much individually across multiple games and teams opposed to players only being dominant with 1 team, and everyone knows they bring way more than just numbers too. They both have slayed with the best of them and brought the calls and dirty work that nobody sees on the leaderboards, and then the accolades
The FaZe guys are way too high, the brackets they have won are a fraction to what older players had to play in. Theyre still the best in the game, but rings just aren't the same when you only have to win two games without pool play.
Nah man i highly disagree. Your point in the fact that they have to play less games for a ring is 100% valid but FaZe DOMINATED the whole year literally winning 4 out of 6 tournaments. They only lost like, what, 7 series on the year? That’s insane. Plus three of them already won a ring in bo4 when they did have to go through pool play. Simp and abezy are the best we’ve seen since like AW Scump and zoomaa
@@TropiKalBoards Tournament wins used to carry more weight, teams had to play like 6+ matches every tournament. Now you need two wins for a grand final, putting FaZe above people who won just as much and competed in bigger brackets is just fugaze.
@@thatboy3930 i mean I’m not necessarily disagreeing, but you also have to take into account that faze have literally dominated and won 4 out of 6 majors this year and only lost 7 series. You can’t just throw that aside cuz they had to win less matches
@@TropiKalBoards You're kind of just repeating what Ben said, but their placings they get are extremely inflated because of the format. FaZe got 1st seed for being good online where half the teams had a disadvantage. People had to earn 1st seed on LAN before the CDL, just so much is different. I just think this format helps the up and comers a little too much in terms of legacy.
The problem with putting the Faze guys outside of Simp in the top 10 is that if they all retired today, do we really put them above Attach if he retired today?
I would personally do the list by era (BO2-GHOSTS+WW2) (Jetpacks) (BO4-CW), then avg out the placings throughout all eras. Like the top 5 honestly probably wouldn't change still, but the middle parts should avg out better. I just don't know how to prioritize the metric systems i.e placements, wins, stats (individual perf.), and longevity.
And easy to tell aches pressed about where he is because he brought up a luka comparison when it doesn’t equate to simp or the faze guys as they have mvps and chips to go with the dominance where luka does now

The roasting of Nameless constantly adds to the video.
They should keep more career statistics to add some perspective to tenured players
Ben didn't even use Lube for the Faze riding session
@@TropiKalBoards I know EUnited did it in Bo4, but the format now rewards whoever is better online.
Ben really is the Skip Bayles of cod with some of the stuff he says
gotta tip pat for how he could completely change a team and improve em
The problem with putting the Faze guys outside of Simp in the top 10 is that if they all retired today, do we really put them above Attach if he retired today?
How many times did Ben J Nassim say “Exercise”
I would personally do the list by era (BO2-GHOSTS+WW2) (Jetpacks) (BO4-CW), then avg out the placings throughout all eras. Like the top 5 honestly probably wouldn't change still, but the middle parts should avg out better. I just don't know how to prioritize the metric systems i.e placements, wins, stats (individual perf.), and longevity.
And easy to tell aches pressed about where he is because he brought up a luka comparison when it doesn’t equate to simp or the faze guys as they have mvps and chips to go with the dominance where luka does now
