I just wanna hug Eliza, kick Alexander, and give Eliza pillows, chocolates, and blankets, then some Netflix to keep her self entertained because god damn this woman deserved more.
Isn’t this statement absolutely correct? Alexander cheated on Eliza, was never there for her cause he was too occupied with work, and wasn’t there for his kids, before making decisions he never thought about his family. All the while Eliza stayed truthful for Alexander, never cheated, had 8 of his children, never remarried, and devoted her life to remind everyone what A. Ham did for the US. She truly is Best of wives, and best of women
I adore how you don't show her eyes for the scene with the fireplace in the beginning. I don't know if it was a conscious choice or not but it really reads as one, it's so wonderful! I love the glow of the fireplace seems so magical too. The scene towards the end with the shading was so, so glorious, too, I really felt her loneliness.
After seeing your more "butterfly symbolism" filled amamatics, I started thinking of other places this could be used in... Then I remembered Les Miserables. Oh my goodness gracious there are dozens of heartbreaking situations symbolism butterflies could be used in Les Miserables.
SARA SCHMIDT HAD THIS IDEA, ALL CREDITS AND STAGE DIRECTIONS TO HER. I just thought it should be animated: A First Burn animatic, but the different voices are Eliza's emotions each singing to Alexander (Open Stage and music starts to see Alexander wandering a dark stage trying to find Eliza) directly on her (Single spotlight shines directly on her ar front center stage) (As soon as he sees her he runs up to her and standing a few feet away looks at her longingly/pitifully) Eliza: I saved every letter you wrote me, from the moment I saw you I knew you were mine, you said you were mine, I thought you were mine. Do you know what Angelica said, when I told her what you'd done? She said: "You have married an Icarus, he has flown too close to the sun" (He takes a few steps towards her and without looking at him her hand shoots out with her palm facing him) at the same time (Anger is shown across the stage by a red spotlight) Don't. Take another step in my direction. I can't be trusted around you. Don't think you can talk your way into my arms, into my arms. (Anger dances over and circles Alexander "clawing" across his face and shoulders.) Eliza steps away and Alexander goes to move after her until Sadness is shown hugging herself spotlighted with a blue light and he looks between the three of them) Sadness: I'm burning the letters you wrote me you can stand over there if you want. I don't know who you are. I have so much to learn. Im rereading your letters and watching them burn. (While singing Sadness gently rises from her seated position and slowly and fluidly dances over to sweetly/softly circle Eliza before Both she and Anger take each other's hands and dance across the stage. Twirling and spinning. ) Anger: Burn (Enter Resentment with green light which startles Anger and Sadness breaking them apart) (She semi violently dances towards Alexander which invites Anger to follow) (Resentment and Anger dance around him roughly bumping/spinning him from one to another) Resentment: You published that letters she wrote to you. You told the whole world how you brought this girl into our bed. In clearing your name, you have ruined our lives. (Anger and Resentment stand beside each other between Eliza and Alexander) A: Heaven forbid someone whisper (enter R) (both lean in to whisper) he's part of some scheme. (Lean out) Your enemies whisper so you have to scream. (Her hand slides to his cheek/jaw, she grabs his jaw and throws him to the ground as she says the next line) I see how you look at my sister. All: Don't. SA: I'm not naive (enter R and A) I have seen women around you. Don't. A: Think I don't see how they fall for your charms. All your charms. Eliza: I'm erasing myself from the narrative. SH: I'm erasing myself from the narrative. R: I'm erasing myself from the narrative. All (including Eliza): Let future historians wonder how Eliza reacted when you broke her heart. You have thrown it all away stand back watch it burn. Just watch it all burn. (Alexander crawls forward and grabs Eliza's dress begging for her to forgive him, to acknowledge him being there) Eliza: and when the time comes SA: explain to the children R: the pain and embarrassment A: You put their mother through SH: when will you learn that (enter others) they are your legacy. We are your legacy. If you thought you were mine. Don't. (Eliza, gripping her skirt roughly yanks it out of his hands and walkd off the stage with the others leaving him on the ground looking after her while holding himself crying.) AGAIN, ALL CREDITS TO SARA SCHMIDT
After thinking this for a month (or more :v) now I understand that the butterflies are symbol of the love Eliza had for Alexander, first they are around showing that even what anyone said Eliza would continue loving him, then they symbol how hard it can be to still love and finally Eliza kills a butterfly that means that she stops loving (or trying to) Alexander
I really like that Eliza is addressing Alexander through this whole song, where in the musical she's alone. That really shows the impact of the betrayal on both of them.
I thought that 'it isn't healthy for your psyche' was an interesting tidbit. Awesome animatic and you can tell Eliza's getting rid of the butterflies because otherwise she might go back to him and she refuses to do that. Or, at least, that's how I interpreted this video. Beautiful artwork, as usual.
five years. This musical has been out for five years and it just occured to me that the reason it's such a big deal that she's burning the letters and 'erasing herself from the narrative' is because she's erasing apart of his legacy.
The two dislikes are from Alexander seeing his wife cry, and the other is Philip seeing his mother cry. (Im really bad at English its not my first language sorry)
The last scene is where Alexander realized he's torn a rift though their marriage, breaking his heart. He's so overwhelmed with regret he can't even look at Eliza.
I'm animating in chronological order, but when I get to this song, I'll have my girl dancing with the stars. Literally chilling and singing with the stars. You and me, BOTH CREATIVITY!!
This animatic is soooooo freaking cool and amazing. And creative and refreshing. Love your concept and your butterflies and symbolisim. Where the frick are all the views this beautiful animatic deserves???
I'm calling it before the video even begins, she's gonna burn the letters and they're gonna turn into butterflies. I know your symbolism by now, you can't surprise me!
This is a true work of art. Really, the facial expressions are spot on, the artstyle adds a lot of personality, and combined with the symbolism, I can't take my eyes off this. Would it be possible for you to add English subtitles, or give me (or anyone else) permission to do so?

Eliza: DO YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE ISN'T HEALTHY???
Alexander: N-no?
Eliza: CHEATING ON ME!

What do the butterflies mean?
@@Nendoroid_addict They mean them emotions that they want to escape.. (i'm sorry for my english)

This is so beautiful. The entire animatic really paints Eliza’s heartbreak! The butterflies are so unique and such a creative touch!!
The two dislikes are from Alexander seeing his wife cry, and the other is Philip seeing his mother cry. (Im really bad at English its not my first language sorry)
Eliza got akumatized and her power is to wreck Alex and burn letters (I love the butterflys its just MLB has ruined butterflies for me XD)

They moved uptown because Eliza burnt the house down
Yo she took of her ring she is very mad

Looking at the dates historians say she was a few months pregnant with their sixth children when he published about the affair.
