I’m convinced it’s apple. Not sure if you have the latest iOS 17.5.1 but once I updated my iPhone 15 to 17.5.1 update my CarPlay don’t work no more. I have a 2017 ford edge. The usb-a to usb-c cord I was using been working fine prior to that update. Now it just charges no CarPlay. I’ll try to buy one of the wired cords you recommend just in case it’s the wire but I’m pretty sure it’s the iOS. I’ll report it to apple if the new wire I buy doesn’t work
Hello Gerard. This video is done with an older iOS version. I was about to update these days. I’ll let you know when I do, if I have the same problem. Let us know what Apple will say about your issue. Thank you.
@zubilitic Not at all, they work great. I use usb-c to charge my phone, but i mosly use high power 12v charger. But I guess you can retrofit the port with USB-c and also wireless android/carplay, even mazda has them as sccessory. Don'tblame your car, USB-As have been problematic everywhere, in cars, PCs...etc
@zubilitic Mazdas are great, Although I must say that 2024 slightly disappoints in terms of build quality, still Japan made mazdas are way way better than Mexico built cars. My Mazda 3 so far has been great, 3000km and not a si gle blip and I hope it reaches my target 350,000km without any major issues. My friend has a Mexico built CX-30 and he's having all kinds of problems that mazda seem reluctant to fix.
My car play will start, my phone will charge... but after 5-10 minutes, it will go off. Sometimes will come back on.... but sometimes not. I'm so frustrated!!! My car is a Toyota Rav 4, and my phone is 15 pro max. My dealership did an update today, and said it was fixed, but driving home, it went out again.
Hello. I have read online about problems with the car's usb plug which many ended up replacing. This problem was not only for USB-C iPhones but also with the older ones (lightning). See with the dealer to check that out, maybe it's the same issue. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Very helpful video! From my own experience, basically USB 3.0 or above works.
Glad it helped and thanks for the tip!
Thanks u r saving me time n money
No problem, glad it helped. Thanks for the feedback!

2024 has wireless carplay and usb c, really convenient.
Cool, any problems with usb-c only cables?

Mine is built in September 2022, SkyActiv X, made in Japan. So far no complaints, ~32000km.
