Hello, those drivers packages are defined by apple, there is no custom build. It depends of the mac model. For some there are drives, for others not. But you can also mix and match. After you istall the drivers designed for your model, download drivers for a newer model and see if you can install them via windows device manager, by targeting the drivers folder. Sometimes it works.

Hello, I can confirm with latest whisky updates this still works and the graphics issues should be solved by tweaking the settings. Please check our other comments, I have mentioned several times with link to another video where I have the graphics settings. I do not have green windows. Please check it out and write here to confirm.

@@zubilitic I did look into your video, but it doesn't work. The cause for me in my case was that I restarted my Mac. If I never shut down my mac, then the issue will never occur. I basically reinstalled the whole bottle just to be safe. Reinstalled GTA 5 and there wasn't issues. If I were to restart or shut down my mac, then these issues would occur.

Hello, this helps you fix rockstar launcher problem, not the game which doesn't start because of launcher's problem. Twisted :) I was able to play GTA IV on ARM Mac only via Parallels (virtualised windows 11). Not yet in whisky.

Hello, That's a tough one because this involves also your personal preference. For example, considering I will type a lot (not just awsd and arrows while gaming), I would to stay away from mechanical keyboards because they are very loud, and go with something very close to Macbook's keyboards (not the butterfly ones :)), those from macbook pro 2019+ models. I would buy something like: Apple Magic keyboard, logitech mx keys, logitech k780. Also, there are keyboards with numpad or without, ergonomic, normal, and the list continues. Regarding wired part, is there a reason why you would prefer a wired over wireless one?

The reason I am interested in mechanical keyboards is because I have been reading that they are great for typing, and I also grew up with those aggressive, basic mechanical keyboards. Plus I am not a fan of those soft gentle typing keyboards like the Apple ones (although I wonder if I should give them another chance). Thing is, I don’t think I’ve used a mechanical keyboard in a very very long time, so I don’t even remember how they feel anymore, and where I live demos are not easy to find. Maybe I should consider something in between? A low profile mechanical keyboard? (As to wired versus not wired, I have no issues with either, except for the fact that I have had Bluetooth issues with my Mac Mini in the past. If that is sorted, I have no issue with either wired or not wired.) Actually, there is another topic that I am also researching, which is complicating everything even further, and that is wrist support. Bit concerned about wrist damage. What I have understood is that your palm should float above the keyboard, and that is the correct way, except a wrist support can help you occasionally get a little rest. From what I understand, mechanical keyboards are quite high. In which case I presume, I’d need to get a higher support as well. Maybe lower profiles are better here. It’s all a little complicated will figure it out as I go along 😃

The GPU is OK but there is room for improvement. I will see how long I am keeping it. Recently I went with another case (the video is in progress). It was an interesting experience because that made me replace the mainboard too.

yeah, only found this out after I bought 4 8gb sticks instead of 2 16gb sticks. I kinda feel like the fool, though the loss in performance is neglible with good enough parts like the ones shown in the vid.

@@eday2448 all good, yeah sometimes you an get the silicon lotery and be lucky enough to get 4 modules running at a higher speed but that is often dependent on the size of the modules as well. I have seen RAM work with 4 modules @ 6400MT/s on one CPU and not on the other CPU even both were the same CPU. Threadripper is a bit different as those have native quad channel memory controllers, but the highest I can take my Threadripper is 6400MT/s with AMD EXPO RAM. And yeah performance is probably neglible, you're right. Unless you've actually got a quad channel memory controller.

Even the Threadripper 7000 board says "you can only achieve 6400MT/s RAM if the maximum module size is 32gb, otherwise it drops to 4800MT/s" so the biggest quad channel kit you could get while still retaining 6400MT/s is 128gb. I got 64 because EXPO RAM is not cheap.

Hello, 32GB is the maximum supported per slot so you can buy one and stick with it if you want but buying 2x16 or lower is waste of money in my opinion. Better get directly 64 (2x32) and stay there. I have 64 now (2x32) and I will go to the maximum 128 because I am not only playing games, for which 32 or 64 is more than enough at this time. I am testing different operating systems and scenarios which includes also virtualization (proxmox, esxi, etc.) and here you need as much ram as you can.

@@zubilitic yeah I do development work too which is why I opted for 64, but in my experience a total of 32gb (2x16) isn't really a waste of money as it is absolute fine for 99% of gamers because I don't know a single game (yet) that needs more than 32gb. You could think future proofing or just build another PC in 5 years :)

Hello, play with the graphics settings. Check other comments, I have posted a link to another video where I show my graphics settings. Take them as example and let us know. Probably MSAA is causing this.

Salut, cred ca faci o mica confuzie intre gbps is GB/s: 10gbps (gigabits per second) este viteza interfatei care in transferul de fisiere inseamna 1.2GB/s (Giga BYTES per second). deci 800-900MB/s este destul de aproape de 1.2GB/s. De asemenea, viteza interfatei nu are nicio legatura cu cat de rapid este SSD-ul sau portul USB al calculatorului. Sunt multe variabile in joc, de la chipset pana la filesystem-ul folosit. Nu vei ajunge la acea viteza decat poate in conditii foarte favorabile, un chipset de mare calitate, etc. In orice combinatie de componente, viteza va fi egala cu cel mai lent component. De aceea in alte video-uri similare recomand sa nu se puna SSD-uri foarte rapide in asemena rack deoarece este overkill. Sper sa te ajute raspunsul.

Hello, screen dimming is due to missing graphics drivers. How it looks in device manager, do you have anything not installed?

@@zubilitic Thanks for the quick response!! At some point, I found a driver for the actual GPU installed. AMD Radeon HD 6750M. While windows showed it failed to install earlier, when I looked at pick a driver on my computer it listed AMD 6750M. I chose it, it installed, and dimming was active again. From what I can tell, everything now works on my early 2011 17" MacBookPro8,3. So happy. I paid $160, and it came with an SSD installed & new battery. $40 on a DSL OEI 11Pro key, and I am off to the races. Don't care for the clicking with vol up/down, but that is the only complaint I have. My $200 investment in a 13 year old crapple has paid off. No gaming. Movies, TV, and web will be the most I use it for. Can't get anything with such a nice 17" screen for less than way too much. Thanks again!! You rock!!

To tell you the truth, apart from the online mode where you really need to be fast (to not be killed by others), the story plays well in 30fps also. And if we want to feel like in a movie, 24fps is better :D

Hello, as mentioned, you do not install rockstar separately. You start Steam via Whisky and simply click "play" GTA V in steam. Rockstar is installed in whisky (wine bottle) first time you run the game.

Hello, the enclosure keeps the ssd below dangerous temperatures if you install it properly. If the enclosure is hot, this means it’s doing its job. You should be worried if it’s cold and at the same time ssd reporting very high temperatures. Also, no matter where you install it, an NVMe SSD will get hot under high usage. That’s in its job description. Adata Legend 800 has its operating temperatures between 0 and 70 degrees Celsius. I am using my ssd with enclosure and writing on it almost daily (video editing). No problems with the temperature.

Ah, I almost forgot one important thing: the SSD’s high temperature (from the data sheet) is reached when hitting continuously its maximum speed. With this enclosure, it will never ever hit those temperatures. 10gbps (1250 MB/s) is it’s speed limit.

@@zubilitic I don't need the case, I was interested in mounting the motherboard itself, where there is a radiator added by the manufacturer of the motherboard. The reason for the temperature discrepancy I would say is more of a misreading and just needs to be calibrated. A high temperature is anything but a good thing. It shortens the life of the SSD drastically as well as overclocking the CPU. Someone somewhere had provided a chart that nicely showed how high write temperatures drastically reduced the number of cycles you could write the blocks before they failed.

Hello, the video is about this M2 ssd in an enclosure, not in a PC where you have more room and ways to keep the SSD cool which is more important because you can reach it's maximum speeds if the slot permits it. And with an enclosure it doesn't get dangerously hot because of the reasons mentioned in my previous comment. Obviously, it's not ideal but sometimes you need to use it with an enclosure and accept the downsides. Cheers.
