  • Hello and welcome back to the channel and some scenery building for Bolt Action! Recently, I set myself the challenge of building a piece of scenery using nothing but bits and pieces that I could find on my hobby shelves. No buying extra parts, all I had to use was all that I could find and forage from my own hobbying collection.
    I found the willow edging that I recently made a video about, link below, and so decided that I would use these to make something else……but what? I have built quite a lot of scenery for our games of Bolt Action set in the Pacific jungles and so I decided to make a log bunker!
    In the video I will show you each step of the construction of the bunker and all of the various bits and pieces that I used to build the bunker. I’m not a prolific builder of scenery or terrain but I do like to have a go every now and then and I’m actually pretty pleased with how this bunker turned out.

    Nice job Ste.... I can see another use now for all the sticks I picked up on walks!

      Cheers Dom, that's definitely true! Since building this piece I've been thinking about what else I could make using these willow edges. Eventually I want to build a bit of a bunker complex with trenches, command posts etc 😀

    Excellent video Ste with good instruction, very useful as you said for Europe and the Pacific. 👍😁

      Cheers Lee! I was quite surprised at how quickly the whole thing went together to be honest and keeping it generic was definitely the best thing to do. It's actually got me thinking about more scenery now 😁

    Great work! It looks like they just built it in the field.

      Thanks Victor! That's the look I was trying to achieve, like the bunker has just been hastily constructed. I think by keeping the foliage etc very basic, this adds to the overall look rather than by covering it in jungle plants and tufts :)

      Cheers Nick! I'm not exactly a prolific terrain builder but this was relatively quick and easy to build. The only problem is that it I am now looking at other bits and pieces that I could build this way :D

    Nice one bud. Picked up a roll of the sticks from Poundland after watching your vid about them. As fun as it is building army’s some nights it just nice to kick back and build some terrain.

      Hey Rich, good to hear from you buddy. They are great aren't they? Cheap as chips but with so many possibilities with them. It's been a while since I made any terrain but yeah, it was a nice change of pace and definitely something a bit different 😊

    Hey, what would you say is good width for the sticks? Would 5mm be good, or maybe 8mm?

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  Рік тому

      I've just checked the ones that I use and while they aren't all uniform in size, the majority of them are approximately 5mm. Hope that helps 😃👍

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  2 роки тому +1

      We've not actually got round to using this ,or the bigger bunker I built, in games yet. As it's meant to be more of a temporary bunker rather than a concrete pillbox or something, I think we'll just use it as a minus 2 for hard cover 😀
