@@Tc-rn8lh thank you 😊
@@LivinanOKlife No problem!
This intro is so sweet and the couple so cute! I am looking forward to learning about Oklahoma!
I didn't expect you guys to actually go in the grocery store and to the gas station to get in depth about the cost of living. AND taking the time to show what the tornado siren looks and sounds like. I really appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness that you put into the video!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate this comment 💕
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel! I'm moving to OKC from Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area) to start a new life in a completely different setting. Even though I have never been there to visit, watching your videos makes me feel more confident and excited! I appreciate your enthusiasm and realistic expectations for OKC & nearby areas. Never in my life would I have thought I'd leave California but OKC just has so much more to offer and the quality of life seems so much healthier and happier! I look forward to seeing more of your helpful and fun videos!!! :)
Thank you! This is so exciting! We're happy we are able to help many subscribers like yourself. There is so many people moving here from the coast to find a better and slower pace of life for their family. Hope you enjoy your new job and life here in Oklahoma.
Beautiful couple and y'all seem like really cool people.
Thank You! 😄
Been here 90 days . I 💙 it ! Great channel !
Awesome! Thank you!😀 and welcome to Oklahoma
Terrin you are right, "I've never seen a tornado living there either", THANK GOD! You've got me in stitches! Having a working Weather Radio is a must!
😆 glad you had a good laugh. We definitely need to look for a crank radio this year. I think I saw some at Academy, hopefully tornado season isn't that bad this year
Thank you guys for a great informative video, which I shared with my ESL students online! - Blessings! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you! We are glad it's helpful 😀

That was a really good video. You talked about so many things that are relevant and that helped give us a good picture of OKC. Thank you very much!

Thank you so much for this video. I’m moving to Edmond for work and was stressed out about relocating. You helped me relax and I thank you! I just need to find an apartment now.
Awesome, I'm so glad it was helpful. Edmond is a nice area to move, I think you will enjoy it. Have fun moving and congrats on your new adventure to Oklahoma. Welcome!! 😀
Edmond is the more expensive suburb northeast of okc, If you can afford it that's the place to be.
I'm glad I found your channel. It's really helpful :)

Y’all are so informative and funny lol
thanks lol miss yall! tell everybody heyyyy!
You guys did a wonderful job on Oklahoma ♥
Thank you for the kind words!
Great useful review. My wife and I are in our early 50's and have been looking to escape Illinois and have been targeting Colorado, Arizona and Nevada for years now however home price are insane in those states compared to what you get compared to Oklahoma.
Thank you for watching! Its definitely a lower cost of living here. Hope you find what you are looking for. We aren't real estate agents, but we do know people if you need help finding something in the city if that's where you decide to move. Best wishes!
@@LivinanOKlife BTW, my wife raised a concern about tornado's however I reminder her being about 35 south of Chicago, we are also in the "tornado alley" parameter with close to the same amount every year. I even had a friend who lived in Plainfield IL back around 89 when that F5 twister decimated the town.
Ya and there are beautiful places everywhere
Yup , I'm from Denver most of my life , you better bring plenty of jingle and a great car if you moving here, plus plenty of patience as our traffic is unbelievable terrible!!! ,
@@davejarvis7522 Hello Dave. I'm 40 miles away from Chicago so I know unbearable traffic all to well. We were originally looking at Colorado Srings but then visited Grand Junction and Palisade and really liked that it was a bit more small towish and remote however for what you get home prices aren't that much better. Over the past few years we have been looking at Gillette Wyoming and Elko Nevada more closely. Most frustrated Illinoin's seem to be moving to Indiana, Tennessee, Texas or Florida it seems. When I tell people we are looking at Colorado or Wyoming they have a puzzled look on their face and say ask "don't they get cold there to?" Funny thing I used to not ever want to consider living in Indiana but right now it seems like it's much smarter for us just to move 50 miles east accrss the border to Schererville Indiana or near. I'm still stuck with the idea moving near the Rockies leaning towards around Gillette Wyoming. Me? I love boring nothing to do towns. Fit's my personality well : ) My wife's father is in a nursing facility here in Illinois and she is the primary. I just turned 57 and I'm really getting the itch to move due to feeling of time passing by and Illinois's liberal politics as well as property taxes. It's funny people here often say that if they don't make it up in property taxes the take it elsewhere however no amout of money will solve this state's spending issues and corruption.
Wholesome people. Great vid!
Thank you for watching! 😀
Amazing video !!! Good job guys
Thanks so much!
This was adorable. The two of you are adorable and real. I love it.
Considering moving out to OK from NJ.

Thanks for sharing! Moving from California to Oklahoma. This was definitely helpful :)
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching😀
Me too. Can’t live in California anymore. I’m looking forward to meeting people with manners and the cheaper cost of living.
Did you make the move yet? I'm from Cali thinking about moving to Oklahoma too
Stop it! No more Californians moving out of state. You guys have to stay and fix it!
From California and im moving to Oklahoma
Great video very interesting 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video; it was very informative! I'm moving to OKC in a few months & I haven't been able to find a lot of info on UA-cam. I would love to see that video on the different areas to live in; I'm so curious about the downtown/bricktown areas.
In a future video, could you also talk about your experiences as black people in OKC?
Thanks so much for watching! We are definitely going to be putting out more videos soon once things start opening back up. We love downtown so we will be doing alot about that and the surrounding districts. Where are you moving from?
Definitely thanks for the suggestion!
@@LivinanOKlife Awesome, can't wait! It really looks like you guys had fun making this! I've spent most of my life in Jacksonville, but I'm moving in from Miami (went to college here.)

Thank you!
Have you guys sent this to the Oklahoma Tourism department? If not you should. You guys are great on camera. Very natural and welcoming. You guys personify the Oklahoma spirit which is friendliness and kindness. Good job guys!!!
😄🤗 aww this is very sweet of you! Thank you so much! No we haven't sent them anything although that would be pretty cool if they saw this and wanted us to be official tour guides for Oklahoma.
Great video cuz
Thanks 💯
Hey guys, maybe be moving to OKC, really like you and ur great and informative videos.
Thanks so much for watching them 🙂 glad they are helpful
thank you for video!
Thank you for watching!
I moved here from the West Coast. Your video was encouraging and helpful. I love your laugh s d Yerrin seems like he's a nice young man
I trust your info. . Thank you and see you on next video.
Thanks so much! I hope you are enjoying your time here so far 😊
Great video! By any chance have you made a video about what to do if you love nature and being surrounded by green beauty? I love Barton Springs in Austin and was hoping OKC had a comparable nature/water walk type of environment thats scenic and enjoyable for an older person to just walk through weekly
We haven't made a video specifically yet. But check out the myriad gardens downtown in this video here ua-cam.com/video/W6A_PSRKcQ0/v-deo.html. The Botanical part is not free but the outside is free to walk around 24/7. That part of the video starts around the 4min mark if you want to skip to it. They have a nice area to walk around. Also Lake Hefner is good for a nice long walk, biking, roller blading etc. We will add it to our list to make a video just for nature. Thanks for watching!
@@LivinanOKlife Thank you and look forward to see more of your work as a new subscriber
Martin Nature Center in N Oklahoma City. Also the area north of Lake Overholser and especially anywhere near Lake Stanley Draper has nature areas.
Love y’all videos we got down to 3 places Norman, OkC, or Moore
Thank you 😊
Love your videos, what a beautiful couple too
Thank you! 😊
Thanks! Now I want to move to Oklahoma
😀Thanks for watching!
No problem, I liked the video to!
Love this channel; OKC Tourism board should hire you guys! You compared a tornado watch to making cupcakes....TOO CUTE and hilarious! ! I’m looking at moving next year, and aside from the needing a car thing, OKC is looking good! Question: is there a mall on any of those trolley stops?
lol thank you! So we are actually going to make a video about how to live here without needing a car so maybe check that out. There is no mall unfortunately anywhere downtown but there is plenty of local shopping in the area that are on the stops. The closest mall to downtown is Penn Square Mall. Its about a 10-15min drive from there.
@@LivinanOKlife there's also LOTS of transit to the malls from downtown, so you dont necessarily need to drive. But unfortunately the trolley doesn't yet go up to the main mall areas (it used to historically btw).
@@LivinanOKlife I would love to see a video on what areas you can live in without a car/short Uber rides to stuff. Fewer gas emissions = more environmentally friendly.
@@sandrasgotvoice your reading our minds! We already have a video idea for exactly that and will be putting that out possibly next month 😀 thanks for suggesting it, that let's us know our ideas are something people are actually wanting to see 😊
Thanks so much for this video, & the one you guys did on the vegan plant based foods. We are going to be moving to Oklahoma city this spring or summer. Can you please tell me is there much crime rates there. We will be living close to Sunny Lane. I would like to met you guys. Your both very helpful. Thanks so much for the videos
Thanks for watching them! So glad they are helpful for you. As far as crime goes, I always answer this as reasonably as possible because it's everywhere honestly no matter the city you move to. Living here, It's definitely not like living on the south side of Chicago but its not Switzerland either. Sunnylane is a decent area, I went to school over there a long time ago at Metro Tech but I don't really know what it's like to live over there. I've only known a few people to stay in the del city area and they seemed to enjoy it. If you ever see us out and about come say hi!! We are always doing something around town. Welcome to Oklahoma!😀
Thanks for this great video. I probably will move to OKC very soon.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
@@LivinanOKlife I need your opinion, what is the best (cheap and safe) places to live close to Oklahoma University? Thanks
@@beshoiibrahim6272 are you looking for student housing or just an apartment?
@@LivinanOKlife since the university housing is a little expensive. So I am looking for a 1br appartment.
@@beshoiibrahim6272 you should check out The Links at Norman. They are nice and decently priced. They have properties all over Oklahoma. They are a pretty large complex.

My wife will be in OK City soon. Your vlog content helps a lot for a new comer like us. Like apartment rent😊
Awesome! We're glad we are able to help out. 😀
Thank you guys for the video, living tornados LOL also cracked with the cupcake reference too Jajaja
LOL Glad you enjoyed! Thanks so much for watching!
Glad I found this video I’m from Southern California living in Torrance in Los Angeles County. I’m giving California a few more years tops and if it doesn’t get any better here looking at Oklahoma City as a plan B, the information you two gave is helpful saving this video 👍👍
Yay, so happy you found it helpful! Alot of people relocate here from Cali because the cost of living is just so much cheaper. We plan to do more videos once things get back to normal. Thanks for subscribing!
I suggest that you wach From Here To There's video top 10 reasons not to move to Oklahoma city I wasn't offended and actually learned something.
I watched that! I thought some parts were funny as well
A few more years? Ha! Gotta leave now!
I want to live too!! Lol
This was very helpful thx, I live in Tulsa. I moved here from Modesto cali
Awesome, thank you! How are you liking Tulsa?
It’s a lil bit to much for me. All this crime and stuff I thought I’d like okc better
Definitely crime a lot of places nowadays, we can't escape it anywhere we go really. It's so sad. Just try to avoid the bad places and stay in the better areas. I don't know much about Tulsa living though so can't speak on that. If you ever plan to move to OKC, we could let you know what to try to avoid here so you will have a better experience. Stay safe!
Thank you👍
You are from Modesto and crime bothers you? Water, wrath, contentment, health. More like burglary, meth and auto theft.
Just kidding. We’re in Linden, outside Stockton. Looking into moving into OKC.
This was super helpful! That trolley looks fun. We don't have those here in WI. Do you know anything about car prices? Cause it seems like I'll have to get one. Cars are soooo expensive with gas, parking, maintenance, etc. :(
Oh good I'm so glad it's helpful. Terrin knows alot about cars. He loves looking at them and going car hunting even when he's not in the market for one 😆 you can get a reasonable car like a Hyundai Sonata, Ford Fusion, Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic brand new in the low 20s or used for around 13-15,000. We always go out to Bob Howard out on Broadway Extension to buy our cars. But yea the cost does/can add up. We have been planning a video of how to live on a budget here, so hopefully we get it done soon and maybe that will give you some tips as well.
@@LivinanOKlife Wonderful! Thanks!!
My general impressions of Oklahoma, self-directed individuals, real people in the face, many are very passionate as if born as such.

I moved last week to Oklahoma City and this helped a lot!
We are happy we were able to help you 😊
How are you liking OKC after two years ? My wife and I are considering moving there from the northeast.
@@ryantinker8598 I love it. Highly recommended.
@@DonaldMcIntyre how are those hot and humid summers? Pretty much the only thing holding us back.
@@ryantinker8598 It is not humid here. That may be Houston, further south, but OKC is pretty dry in the summer. It is hot, though, a range of 95 to 110. But I love hot sunny days! I actually go to the pool and sunbathe everyday reading books. God, beef, sprinting, and sun. That is my life here.
I love you guys together and I love this channel! Heavily considering moving to Tulsa bc its sooooo affordable and close to home any advice for housing if I'm trying to fix my credit but need housing and to move in the next month? Also any good decent paying jobs in OK where I can live comfortably? I have military and post office background, TYIA
Thanks so much! So my advice is to try for an apartment as far as I know they do not check credit. They do check for evictions though I believe or they may ask about them. If you military I would suggest Midwest city which is near OKC or Lawton. Big military towns. The post office is always hiring here too though as well. Maybe even try for a government job like working for the state or try for jobs on the city level. There are so many different departments within that it would be easy to get your foot in the door.
@@LivinanOKlife OK thank you so so much I really appreciate it doing my research now thanks so much again
You're welcome! 😃
Wow the trolly was pretty empty! I live in Houston currently and am moving to OKC soon
lol yea it was empty because it was pretty chilly that day and it was early on a Saturday morning so not many people were out at that time. Even still though, if you go during peak hours they aren't ever really packed since they have 5 or 6 trolleys running around the area. Have fun moving here and thanks for watching! 😀
I lived in Yukon,OK for one year back in 2011. It was very windy there. The sirens did come on every Saturday at 12 noon. I mostly missed Braums. Their food was very good and tasty.
Yea the ice cream is unmatched! 😋
@@LivinanOKlife I mostly enjoyed their burgers, fries, and the breakfast menu. Their ice cream was pretty serious also.
Just had friends that moved to Chandler,ok from Denver. What they bought here (ok) would have cost 4 times that in Colorado!! They love it
That's great to hear, Oklahoma is definitely a cheaper and great way of life than many other states 😊
I've only seen one of the tram trolleys in my life and I've lived here all my life
yea they are still pretty new, if you aren't downtown much it is hard to catch them! Thanks for watching!
I live in Columbus, Ohio, and my tornado sirens go off every Wednesday at 12:00 PM noon!
Nice! Thank you for sharing.
We bought 10 acres of land in Norman,we will build our house there, good land & cheap
Awesome, I hope to have that much land one day! Thanks for watching 😄
I wish everything was this cheap in Jamaica I could take a week from work and relax knowing everything's gonna be ok.
How much are things in Jamaica where you are from? We went to Montego Bay on a cruise a couple years ago and had some really good jerk chicken when we were there. Can't wait to go back one day. Thanks for watching 🙂
Love you guys info am moving back out there with my wife she’s never been out there so she’s a bit scare cause oklahoma nothing compare to Los Ángeles
Definitely a slower pace than LA, but plenty of things to do. Welcome back to Oklahoma hope your move goes well and hopefully your wife loves it here as well. Thank you for watching the video! 😀
Yes much slower but it’s such a beautiful state I just hope my wife could adapt to the living out there
I like your cupcake analogy!
Thank you!
I thought this video was gonna suck... but you guys pulled through. Nice video, good people.
Lol thanks. We appreciate you watching it 😀
I don't live there yet, but one thing I know Okc has is its big on gymnastics too.
The women's team at OU I hear is really good.
@@LivinanOKlife Yeah they've had at least one person go to the Olympics and win a medal.
Yes, I believe the Gymnastics Hall of Fame is in Oklahoma City somewhere; there's a very famous Russian gymnist residing in the metro as well as numerous ladies that have done well from Oklahoma or the University of Oklahoma.

Livin' an OK life I’m gonna be moving to OkC in July, gonna be attending OCU Law I’m looking for forums or blogs for ppl like me that are from places like New York or Boston that have moved out to OKC, any thoughts?
Hmmmm, I really like OKCTalk.com but it's not really a forum for people who just moved here. It's more about what's happening in Oklahoma. Have you tried Reddit? r/Oklahoma, maybe you could ask that group if they know of any in particular. Unfortunately, we do not know of any for someone in your situation, but if we come across any we will let you know! If you want to see something specific on our channel that you want to know about let us know as well and we may be able to film it for you!
Oh and congrats on Law school!
Livin' an OK life awesome I’m gonna look at your suggestions today, thank you for the well wishes and if I have any suggestions I’ll definitely drop a comment, keep up the good work 👍🏾🙏🏿✌🏾
How easy is it to get foodstamps and medicaid if just moving there and trying to get on your feet?
I got this info straight from DHS website. It says, It may take up to 30 days from the day you submit your app to receive the benefits or get a denial. It usually does not take that long to get help. You may be eligible to receive benefits right away if you meet expedited food benefit rules. You can easily apply at www.okdhslive.org , it also gives you info about Soonercare aka Medicare, TANF, WIC, LIHEAP. You may also check out the section 8 programs/HUD for housing here. During this pandemic though, I am not sure how quickly they would be able to process your application. Check it out though!
Unless you get a really good job, it'll be really hard to actually get on your feet. Rent keeps raising. The only affordable place in town is the South side of Oklahoma City but that's the gang hood. It's hard to keep foodstamps going once you get a job because they'll cut you off even if you don't make that much money. I was cut off making $11 and had three kids. So it's either work and make it or don't work and get benefits. It's also a long waiting list for housing. At least a year or two waiting list and at one point they cut off the waiting list because they had to many people applying and to many people waiting. So unless you know someone here who is willing to help you out, it's not going to be easy to do it on your own.
Their section 8 list is open in OKC❤️
#1 thing to know about Ok. weather is the wind blows 24/7,365...
💨definitely!
mmmmm....cupcakes! :-) Best analogy ever!
Thank you! 😊
I'm thinking about moving to the area from Atlanta, GA. I'm used to worry about hurricanes since I lived on the MS Gulf Coast most of my childhood, but I'm a bit concerned about the tornadoes in Oklahoma. How worried should I be and how often are really bad ones that like, the whole building is destroyed whether you're hiding in the most internal or basement room. I'd be living in an apartment. Thanks.
Honestly I'd be more afraid of hurricanes than tornadoes because of the amount of area it usually hits. Alot of people are scared of the Moore area because that's where the big F5 tornado happened 7 years ago and destroyed alot. With that being said, that was our last major tornado like that. Some seasons we don't get any action around here so Honestly you don't have to be super worried. Just have a plan and know where you are going to go. That day we had every warning possible that entire day back in 2013 so you had ample time to get your things together.
one other note that should help you feel better is, OKC has THE BEST technology in Weather in the WOLRD!!! They issue Tornado Warnings now and can predict outbreaks days/even weeks in advance. This is why you hardly ever hear of deaths due to tornadoes in OKC despite it being the major city most impacted by them in the world. As long as you practice what to do, prepare your emergency kit (and have a few locations), and pay attention - it's probably safer in OKC than anywhere with regard to Tornadoes.
@@LivinanOKlife Oklahoma Native, The scary part of More is its in the path of Tornado Ally. Before the 2013 Tornado, a EF 5 hit us hard on May 3rd 1999. I lived in Moore at the time and as it was coming into the area it shifted which saved us. It hit less than a quarter mile away, then it continued North East down I-44 aka the Turner Turnpike until it fizzled out after it hit Stroud Oklahoma, Which is about an hours drive.
In 99 and 2013 a classmate lost her home 2x.
Planning on moving to Oklahoma sometime next year. Hows the market for nursing jobs
Really good here in OKC. We have alot of major hospitals around here like OU medical, Integris, and Mercy. I know alot of people that I grew up with or worked with in the past that have gone into various fields in the hospitals because there is just so much work for it here.
Nice!! Me and my family are picking up and getting the heck outta California. It’s so bad out here. Want my tax paying dollars to make a difference in a nice city. We can’t wait!!!
@@LivinanOKlife dont forget about the largest and oldest (remaining) hospital, right in midtown - Saint Anthony! (where I was born too - wink)
@@nathanwolfe3792 Sorry Nate. Oklahoma is closed, no more Californians will be admitted.
In texas our tornado sirens sound like ambulance sirens - which sucks because you don’t know if you about to get swept away or what
Lol thats funny and scary at the same time
Can you please tell me about living in Grove ,Ok.?
From what I hear it's a small friendly town. I haven't actually traveled there. It's wayy up east in Oklahoma near the border. When we travel up that way next time we will have to stop through.
What about someone on SSI rent out of city, pets dep utilities letter of credit, dish,. Thank You.
I'm not sure if I understand your question? Are you moving here from out of state and you are on SSI? If so check out HUD/Section 8 housing. It's based on income and they could help you apply for a place to live that allows pets. Also check out LIHEAP if you are needing help with utilites.
Part of me wants to leave Portland Oregon I was born & Raised here, I'm getting tired of the Crime here and it only gets worse. I can actually afford to live comfortably in Oklahoma though. Going to try & plan a visit next year 2023 I want to visit 3 seasons year so I can get to know it
Definitely visit during the summer & fall. Best times to be here. Our winters can have snow & ice so nothing much to do here if you run into a week with a bad storm.
I am planning to move to OKC from Delhi India thank you for giving all this info. Can you please tell me that people in OKC are friendly to people coming from outside?
That's awesome! Be safe on your move here. I can only speak from my point of view. I am always friendly to people I meet no matter who they are. I personally do not know any people from India that have been persecuted here in okc. Okc is generally welcoming to all kinds. I hope that your experience moving here goes well for you!
@@LivinanOKlife you are awesome thank you
Here're a few facts about OK: no black dirt. It's red & hard. Ice storms close down everything. Hail can be up to tennis ball sized. Golf ball sized hail not unusual. A garage is valuable. No basements. Summer is hot & humid. If buying a house, how thick are the windows. Many older homes have very chilly single pain windows. People seemed really nice. Lower cost of living. If you expect a lot of government services or intervention-wrong state .
Thank you for listing these facts 😀
Think it would be hard to start a small landscape business in and around OKC??
Oklahoma is actually one of the best states to start a small business according to the pros. I don't think it would be hard because there is alot to do here, OKC is one of the most spread out cities so it wouldn't be hard (in my opinion) to generate somebody's business! You could do private home lawns, golf courses, parks, etc here. We actually thought about this very idea not too long ago. Well Terrin & his brother did lol not me.
No, it iwll be easy. Oklahoma is in the grassland, right where the timbers begin; so landscaping is primo. the ONLY reason why OKC doesn't have a better canopy are the Ice storms in the winter and (to a lesser extent actually) - Tornadoes in the Spring. ..
Much appreciate y'all's feedback. Thanx!
Id hate to be around a tornado at 12 noon Saturday
😂😂 agreed
I'm planning to move from California, my biggest worry is about tornadoes. How bad is.is really dangerous to live over there.
Not dangerous at all. My advice to you is to have a plan for when one comes. As long as you aren't scrambling to get your stuff together the day of a tornado, you will be fine. We don't get major tornadoes every year either. It's definitely not like the movie Twister every day here either lol The springtime is when you want to be the most weather aware and again you will be fine if you plan accordingly.
Thank you so much
@@alexvj1740 you're welcome 😊
Great video! You forgot to say is a very White Proviledge area as is Dallas Texas! I live in Dallas so it's about the same thing! Blessings!
Thanks for watching!
Are house prices low because a tornado might take the house?
No not right now, all property is expensive seems like. We have a lower cost of living compared to other places but it's definitely gone up here since the pandemic. In general though, I still don't think it's any cheaper normally due to the chance if a tornado.
How’s the job market? Is it hard to find employment?
The job market is pretty good, especially if your looking for a career in energy or aviation. Health care as well, OU medical, integris, and mercy are large employers. We have a lot of nationally know corporations like amazon, AT&T, Hobby Lobby, Devin, Chesapeake, Sonic if you are looking into a corporate position. If you are military, tinker air force base is in midwest city and probably the largest employer in the state. State and city jobs are also readily available, pay well, and doesn't require a lot of higher education to get in. If you're willing to work then it's not hard to find employment here in my opinion.
Livin' an OK life...That’s awesome! Yes, I’m currently in the field of HR and I’m in Texas right now...And, the cost of living there is definitely appealing. Thanks for sharing & responding!💛
@@monickaf5149 oh yea with HR you definitely won't have a problem finding work. Best wishes if you do decide to move here!
@@monickaf5149 Oklahoma City is home to nationally known HR companies such as Paycom, Express Employment Professionals and others along with a number of major corporate HQ, not to mention the HQ of the state, county, and a major Federal Government HQ city. You will NOT have difficulty finding an HR job in OKC.
why do they blow a siren every Saturday if there is no tornado? That wasn't that clear
Good question! They just test them each Saturday to make sure they work. It goes off for approximately 2 mins. Since we are living in tornado alley they take extra precaution. Nothing worse than finding out it doesn't work at the exact moment it needs to go off lol Thanks for watching!
Thanks for reply
Are you realtors? I need some help with renting a 1 bedroom house.
Sorry, we are not realtors.
what about Native American POW WOW in each counties
So is the crimes in there is good? Im planning to move on okc
Answered on your other post 🙂
Whats the minimum wage ? Hourly
Which ethnicity is the most popular.?
Whites, African American, Hispanics, asians?
7.25/hr is min wage here. Hasn't been raised since 2009. Oklahoma is predominantly white. If you go to certain parts of towns though you will find different races. For example, here in oklahoma city the south side has a large Hispanic population, the northeast side is mainly African American, the north west/edmond is a mix of African American/ Caucasian. If you go deep edmond its mainly Caucasian. Classen area/23rd is the asain district. If you go south towards moore/norman its a mix but still mainly Caucasian. And the native American community is all over oklahoma since it's Indian territory.
OKC is very close to being a majority minority city with Hispanic leading the way. 100K or so African Americans, 30K or so Vietnamese then on. Its not a segregated city but does have historical and cultural areas as @Livin' an OK life mentions: Capital Hill (southside) - is the Hispanic downtown, Asian District is our Chinatown/Little Saigon (Vietnamese being the largest with growing Taiwanese, Chinese, and Korean), pockets of Guatemalan, Honduran, El Savadoran, Peruvian, Brasilian, and so on throughout the central city. Its mostly white in the far N and far SW.
@@rchilde1 Thank you for the information and taking the time to comment :)
Watch out for tornadoes
Definitely gotta stay safe and have a plan!

Native Oklahomans: "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
😂😂😂
Yeah that cupcake metaphor was funny. :)
Okay this is 3 years ago
Yes it was, time went so fast.
$150k for a house?!? $450-$550 for rent?! That should be the highlight of the vid.
Mannnnnn... Cheapest house where I live is about $260k-$300k if you're lucky and thats a 1 bdrm dump.
Cheapest apartment I've ever seen is like $1,100 and thats a studio apartment that someone probably got murdered in. Avg. apartment is like $1,800-$2,200/mo
Aight... I'm moving lol
I'll save everyone the questions...
Denver, CO
Wow that's crazy! What's min wage there? If people are willing to live in a suburb of OKC like Yukon/Mustang or Moore then $260-$300k will get you a brand new 3/4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 car garage house in a new addition. And I'm talking built from the ground up-you choose your designs and everything.
Do I need to know where is the stop request button before I move to OKC?
Thanks for the positive vibe. But this is not a helpful video. A informative video will discuss decision making factors.
Thanks for the feedback. The button on the trolley was not the main focus of the video, but we will keep that in mind for future videos.
$7 for gas in Palm Desert Oct 2022 … Wow
Oh wow that's alot 😬
Lol I know every were in this video

I been living in Oklahoma for almost 4 years and I laugh a little every time someone says they r think of moving here to Oklahoma.. Good luck to them. It sucks. First red flag should be the majority of this video was about bad weather.. Y'all forgot to mention we get hail.. Big hail that will destroy ur car and roof and that happens way more than actual Tornadoes. It's also very boring and the people are usually very close-minded and judgemental. I definitely don't recommend living here.
Hi John, thanks for taking the time to comment your opinion. I am actually flabbergasted that you think Oklahoma sucks just because of the weather. Our weather actually lines up with most other states. In this case, I feel like you are really just making a generalization because Oklahoma is not exclusive to hail and tornadoes. This video was just a brief description of what someone can expect if they decide to move here, also something that alot of people wonder about before moving here.. It wasn't meant to be a detailed play by play of what to expect everytime we get bad weather. As far as it being boring...what makes it boring?🤔 I always like to ask because I've traveled quite a bit and besides a select few states that may have a major attraction for tourism we have a lot of things that other states have. What do you like to do that's not here? please respond thx 🙂
